Gordon Giltrap At Sunbury Cricket Club

Sarah & i were blessed last Friday evening, when Brother in Christ (and guitar extraordinaire) Phil phoned me to say “would you like to go to a Gordon Giltrap gig tonight at Sunbury Cricket Club ?” I said “Who??”. Phil said “He’s an old school finger style instrumentalist, you’d both really like his style”. He wasn’t wrong…

It was a intimate setting and Phil also found the best seats in the house right on the front row!!

Sarah also took some fantastic photos with her iPhone!

It was a lovely evening, and Gordon also played his version of “Angie” by Bert Jansch (see video below). I said to Sarah “No way, this is the song your Dad plays when he comes to visit! And he is teaching it to Alfie (my brother in law) who also has a Vintage acoustic. 🙂

  1. Amazing! I don’t see how he’s able to move up and down the neck and pick with those fingers. I know that took years and years of practice. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
