A bad book is a big thief! For it robs a man of his time, and of his good principles. Many young people have been ruined by the vile literature which is now so common. A German writer says, “Such books rob the public of time, money, and the attention which ought properly to belong to good literature with noble aims. Of bad books, we can never read too little; of the good books, never too much.”
Books should conduce to one of these four ends:
for wisdom,
for piety,
for delight, or
for usefulness.
(Charles Spurgeon)
So true!
Agree! Thank you for this post/point, a lot of time is gone forever. There is a lot of work to do π
Amen! Yeah it’s so easy to take our time here for granted! π
Thanks so much for taking time to read, Like and comment, Always great to see you here! God bless you.
And for me personally, when I was working a regular job, before this blog, I felt I had no time or energy left for anything else at the end of the day, so I would sit and watch a movie every night after work. Years later, I counted up those hours, in general, it added up to a LOT of time. I posted once on my blog about this, and my conclusion was, how about just once a week sit down and vegetate…not every night! Give the rest of the time to doing something for the Lord! My advice to myself, and I took it. Taking photos, adding God’s words, and posting them here-on WordPress- for as many as possible to read, ponder, learn from God (not me) about what He wants us to be doing while we’re here.
God bless you as well π
Fantastic, so blessed that you were convicted by the Lord to use your time for His Kingdom by shining the light of your pictures and blog across this often dark internet! π
It’s so easy to sink into the pattern of this world and forget why we are here!
God bless you.
Thanks for sharing a little of your thoughts on here too!
