⇧ Bruce demonstrating a long run ⇧
Welcome back to your daily lockdown drill brought to you by Bruce…your fave Boxercise instructor!
Attention!! Today’s Drill…“Long Runs”
Since we’ve already got “Short Sprints” in our arsenal, it’s time to stretch out that drill into a “Long Run.”
This can be really difficult during lockdown and it’s vital to keep social distancing as you’ll be running for a long time…So be vigilant, and most of all safe!
I hope you find a place where you can practise this drill because…
A long run burns calories, strengthens/hardens muscles, and tones the body, but more importantly a long run really pushes you to discover your full athletic potential!

Well while this body is not yet up to long runs. I am, back to long walks and my speed is returning. So son I will be up for long fast walks.
Wow, that’s fantastic. I admire your determination. 😀
Great to see you here. Are you staying safe and well during this challenging time? 🙏🏻
Yes. I had double pneumonia at the very beginning of the shut in, but I am recovering nicely for that. I noticed one of mthe lingering effects of it was that I had to build back my energy and my reserve. I also have slowed down a lot in the speed with which I can do things.
Wow double pneumonia is very serious but it’s great to hear you are starting to recover. I’m amazed you’re starting long walks already as it must be so tiring and hard to get any motivation?!
I am about 6 weeks out now. I was in bed for about a week and then I started doing short walks around the block a couple fo times a day. I noticed in the beginning that if I walked twice a day I was done for the rest of the day. By week three I could walk for about 30 minutes if I went slow and took a nap in then afternoon. My energy started coming back about week four. I noticed my singing voice came back at least a little this week. All those years of vocal work and breath exercises helped I think.
Wow you’re impressive and that takes some true determination, total respect. 😀
Singing is fantastic and i’m sure that it definitely helped, and is helping now as you get your voice back!
Thanks for sharing, it’s great to hear about your progress. God bless you, praying for you too. 🙏🏻
Thank you Steve. I didn’t think I was doing anything very impressive. I just did what I had heard others had to do to move on.
It’s impressive in my book! 😀
Well thanks! 🙂
