The Prodigal Son

I wrote this Song/Prayer while thinking about how the Lord has changed my life and how far i’ve come from my old profligate life. I use it as a Prayer while playing guitar in my own private Prayer time. I hope you enjoy, and maybe you could share and use it to help in some way!

📖 Verse 4 2day

Luke 15:31-32

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

The Prodigal Son

I don’t want to die in the field of blood

I don’t want to lie with Judas like I should

Chorus

Father forgive me I regret the things ive done,

Father forgive me, your prodigal son

Verse

Hit from behind by the servant of lies

Lust of the flesh, from the eyes, the pride of life

Chorus

Father forgive me I regret the things ive done,

Father forgive me, your prodigal son

Verse

As I come to myself I was drowning from within

A licentious soul a cesspool of sin

Chorus

Father forgive me I regret the things ive done,

Father forgive me, your prodigal son

Verse

A life of darkness with no source of light

Your light was covered by what I thought was right

Chorus

Father forgive me I regret the things ive done,

Father forgive me, your prodigal son

📖 Verse 4 2day!

Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

  3. we all know the story of the prodigal son, but so few have ever heard the story of the Benevolent Father. u know what i’ve decided? i no longer refer to this as the story of the prodigal son…the more i read the story, the more i see it’s so much more about his Father…his Father’s love…the Father who, “while he was still a far way off…” ran out to meet him..i’m still tearfully overwhelmed by that part of the story…b/c WHILE i was still a far way off…Daddy came out to meet me..great song, once again. glad i’m following u 🙂

  4. Blessed to pass by…Steve…may the Lord use your words to minister to people who need a now word of encouragement…
May some day you will consider voicing your words….and sing unto the Lord these new songs…..!!
