Our Mission…

Our mission is quite simple: we want to get more disabled and visually impaired people enjoying new, fun and exhilarating activities. We want to help people with disabilities feel confident that they can enjoy the same activities and life experiences as someone without a disability.

 Hi readers!

Just guess how excited i am right now?? 🤣

I have just stumbled onto the ablenet website and found this…?

Are you ready for the drive of your life for an astonishing 6 miles each per Supercar?

If you love supercars and are visually impaired, our ‘3 Supercar Blind Driving Experience Super Thrill’ is an experience you won’t find anywhere else. It is the best way to get to you in your favourite supercars and experience the peed, and thrill, of a high-performance beast.

Yes, it is true. Whatever your level of visual impairment, you can drive a Supercar with Ablenet. All of the cars are automatic and a super skilled instructor will guide you around the track whilst having access to a footbrake should it be necessary.

So, whether it’s a Lamborghini, Ferrari F430 spider, Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8, Nissan GTR or Porsche 911/997, we put you with the largest fleet of cars in the UK for you to choose from. The hardest part is choosing…

The great benefit to driving on a race circuit is feeling the pure power of an awesome car. You will be with a professional instructor who will teach you the art of driving.

The experience also includes a thrilling hot lap ride when the race driver will show you what a performance car can do around the circuit. Typically in a BMW M3 V8 saloon car or Vauxhall VXV8, both with 3 passengers.

Since going blind at 25 (21 years ago) i’ve been waiting for someone to give the blind a truly accessible experience like the ones ablenet offer! I’ve always said “i can still drive…I just can’t see where i’m going”. 🤣

I’ve always loved cars as when i was fully sighted i worked in a bodyshop as a panel beater and used to customise cars etc…Even my own! My dad, uncles and my cousins have always been mechanics in the motor trade so i’ve grown up with cars too. So when i stumbled onto their website, i just exploded with passion to drive a supercar or 3, lol!

Sorry for sounding like a group b rally car “too much raw power with little containment”…But getting involved and trying out all of the experiences on the ablenet website is like a dream come true for me. 😀

Other experiences for the visually impaired by ablenet…
Flying a plane, diving with sharks, shooting, archery, skiing, indoor sky diving and much more…Wow i think me and Sarah are going to have some fearful fun! 🤣💪🏼 😨

i C Photo Challenge: Cars & Trucks (my Brother in law Ben’s cars)

A huge thanks to my Brother In Law Ben for contributing in my i C Photo Challenge this week. He isn’t part of WordPress so i’m posting his images for him. He loves cars, so he sent me lots of photos of some of the cars he’s owned in the past.

These are fantastic for me as i don’t get to see cars in the real world, only when i’m zoomed in on my 27” iMac. I still love cars and miss seeing them, even all of the geeky bits too!! 🙂

i C Photo Challenge: Cars & Trucks

I C Photo Challenge Logo“You don’t need sight to see, you need vision”

As a “Blind Photographer” I love taking part in photo challenges and seeing how creative other bloggers can be with their images. This has fired my imagination and prompted me to host a photo challenge of my own!!!

The “i C Photo Challenge” will have a theme each week – To get you thinking about the things you’d miss if you lost your sight and provide a chance for you to be as creative as possible – Taking photos you may never have considered taking before, of things you would usually overlook. I’d like you to show me things you think I’d love to see…. things I’ve missed since loosing most of my sight.

Use any camera you have available … it’s about the thought going into the image not the image quality… although high quality will make it easier for me to zoom in and see.

And above all ENJOY 😀 taken from my “i C Photo Challenge” page.

Week 1

i C Photo Challenge: Cars & Trucks

Pickup Truck

⇧ Looks like Mater ~ Photo taken using iPhone 4s ⇧

I chose ‘Cars & Trucks’ as my first challenge, as when i was fully sighted i used to be a panel beater in a body shop, where i repaired, restored and customised cars. I’ve driven many cars ranging from Citroen 2CV’s unto Rolls Royce’s and a lot in-between.  I love american cars and love the sound of a V8! It’s just not the same listening to cars but not seeing them!

For this weeks challenge, create a new post with a photo/photos of any car or truck you think is interesting or i might not of seen before. This can include close up shots of engines, badges, lights…… anything relating to the theme, be creative!! 🙂

Please remember to include a link back here so i can see (and not miss) your creations. New challenges every Friday!

✞ Testimony “Annie Lobert”

My Thoughts 💭

After watching this amazing testimony of God’s Love & Grace i couldn’t stop thinking about the lyrics below from the powerful ‘Constance’ song.

📓 Lyrics from “Constance” by Mr. J. Medeiros

The sound of rain is her backdrop laying there
Like she’s waiting for somebody to say they care
While the tears of God fall down the window pane
She feels unholy like the Father doesn’t know her name
Marry Magdalene and the woman at the well
He knows everything that happens
And in His arms she fell
