🎸Songs/Poems

The songs/poems i’ve posted here were written as I was coming out of a very dark time in my life, i’d still like to share them with you as they’re still part of my journey.

I’d like to start this section with the song i wrote about some of the feelings that held me captive when i lost my sight at 25!

📖 Verse 4 2day

Psalm 116:3

The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow.

Captivity of Negativity

Is it time to let me out? Because its getting dark in here. Although I shout, no one can hear. I’ve got the time, Yet I stay in here, My outward tear, Shows my inner fear.

My own personal Hell, Trapped inside myself, I aint got no place to hide. Caught in my own spell, With no soul to sell, I feel Ive missed the ride….. Ive missed the ride.

They’ve tried pulling a rake across my brain, but they cant find the brake For this runaway train. You say I must be strong, but I don’t belong, All my pain, Seems to feed the reign.

I used to stand so tall, I thought I’d never fall, I’m trying not to cry, Curled up in a ball Trying to get so small, So I don’t have to live this lie, I want to die.

📖 another verse 4 2day

Psalm 116:4

Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!”

I Hope this song will reach out to people who can relate to some of the feelings i went through on my Journey! But i want you to know that you are never alone and a new Life of Love, Joy & inner Peace are waiting for you. Please check out my “About” page.

  1. Awesome bro 🙂 you need to get this stuff recorded bro !

    • Steve, thanks for the kind comments. Having you on my journey to encourage and build me up is such a blessing to me. To see how God has transformed your life and the ministry you are building is amazing. God bless you 😀

  2. I cried when I read your song as it really touched my soul, amazing, you are so gifted

    • Hattie, thank you for your kind words! I find it amazing when i read the lyrics to this song on just how far i have come. I never imagined that I would have a life filled with love, happiness and so many blessings. Thanks again for commenting, when i wrote that song I didn’t dream that it would move people to tears or mean anything to anyone! Many blessings to you as you travel your journey! I will enjoy following your blog. 😀

  3. Your terrifying and demoralizing experience, which you have so aptly encapsulated here, along with your subsequent growth and blossoming, are a potential source of hope and inspiration for literally millions of other people. Your talent and courage are remarkable.

    • Wow, I truly don’t know what to say to your comment! I started this blog simply to let people know that there is always hope no matter who you are, where you are from or how bad you know you have been or been treated in the past. I wanted to share how God transformed my life and hopefully it would inspire and encourage others. Thanks again for taking interest, I look forwards to following your blog too! 😀

  4. Steve, how awesome and courageous to relate how you feel and reach out to us as to what it is like inside your dark cage where turning on the lights does not change a thing. So often, I have thought of what it must be like and feel so bad to be so helpless. But, you have reached out to see through God, what a deal – you cannot fail with Him holding the pen. I know you can make it if God is your crutch and light. Use whatever skills you have to reach people, it encourages us so to see what you can do and, we, without such handicaps, should see hope for ourselves. The eyes in our brain sometimes do not see the scenes God can portrays in there. I wish I could have gotten that across to my handsome son I lost a year ago yesterday. I had no idea of the depth of his distress or I would have gone to him and forced myself in to help him. It is horrible, I live with the pain of not knowing so I could help him. Why did he not cry out to me? His pain hurt so much he did not see I was here for him. He was so far away. He was hurt by his family and missed them and cried for them. When he finally decided to let a friend take him to the doctor, he took a shower night before and when he came out, died of a heart attack. He was found hugging his dog to his chest. The memory (for I was blind by not being able to see him) nearly makes me drop. Why, why, did I not know so I could go to him. That is what mothers are for. 58 is too early to go. My pain is unable to relate. But I have to depend on God who knows why and may be holding him now to ease the pain. Just as we, Steve, hold you in our hearts and transport you to our loving, giving, almighty Father through words as a sweet smelling fragrance and He knows the exact touch to calm you and give you great courage which you need and show already. I try to make a wonderful picture for to see through God’s mind working in you. I know you will care and feel good that by reaching out to me, you find another avenue to help us help you. Thank you so much for that! We need it as you do.

God bless you greatly and lead you and make you at peace, I know pain is hard to kick out but God can replace it with a warm, sunny love. I can literally feel it as I anticipate it coming into you and makes me shiver with excitement. Please keep me posted on your growth and pains !! I have heard it said that people without sight can see beyond things we cannot grasp. God has ways and means to reach each situation. Always remember that!!!

    • Phyllis Rose, Wow, i have no idea how to reply to this comment as i am sat here in tears but i will have a go. Thank you so much for you love and encouragement. I am so sorry to hear about your sons passing. You are such an inspiration and you are so courageous to keep showing and sharing your love to us all. All i know is that when the pit you find yourself in is so deep and dark, the sounds of your family and the world are simply too far away for you to hear. So what happens is that you only focus on yourself and the thoughts of hopelessness that seems to comfort you as you really have no idea that anyone or anything can reach that far down to pull you out.
Its so comforting to hear that your son also had a furry angel to help too, Thank you so much for reading and spending precious time writing this amazing comfort comment! The fellowship on here is just fantastic and is so important in my journey! I feel so blessed to have people like yourself helping and inspiring me!
      God bless you.

  10. Steve, I’m always happy to see a new post from you in my inbox. I know that inspiration follows! Thank you!

  11. steve, i’ve seen dark days, my brother. some days the darkness overcame me so..but glory to God for being a light in the darkness, glory to His holy name for giving me wholeness n healing to shine a light for others. thx for sharing your thoughts n gift. btw, that post u liked “i’d rather die,” God had me write it the morning of the day He completely set me free…i had no idea what that day had in store, but i know it was no coincidence that He took me to the place of being completely sold out for Him, completely consumed by Him to where i’d commit n truly mean that i’d rather die than be so completely His…He took me to that place, then set me free. what a good God He is!

    • Amen!! So blessed to have found you and your blog! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking time to read a little of how God is working in my life.
