1 Timothy 6:3-6Β (ESV)Β
3Β If anyoneΒ teaches a different doctrine and does not agree withthe sound[a]Β words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teachingthat accords with godliness,Β 4Β he is puffed up with conceit andunderstands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving forcontroversy and forΒ quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,Β 5Β and constant friction among peopleΒ who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth,Β imagining that godliness is a means of gain.Β 6Β But godlinessΒ with contentment is great gain,
tag them for what they are: ignorant windbags who infect the air with germs of envy, controversy, bad-mouthing, suspicious rumors. Eventually thereβs an epidemic of backstabbing, and truth is but a distant memory.Β
