You who are letting miserable misunderstandings run on from year to year, meaning to clear them up some day; you who are keeping wretched quarrels alive because you cannot quite make up your minds that now is the day to sacrifice your pride and kill them; you who are letting your neighbor starve until you hear that he is dying of starvation or letting your friend’s heart ache for a word of appreciation or sympathy, which you mean to give him some day; if you could only know and see and feel all of a sudden that time is short, how it would break the “spell.” How you would go instantly and do the thing which you might never have another chance to do.

It’s funny my sister in law recently asked me just what does someone have to do to me before I stick up for myself as, I guess, she thinks I’m a bit of a doormat. Maybe I can be a bit of a sucker but I can’t help but forgive and forget it just feels right. Life is too short to be stingy with ones love for others, so I love this quote! 🙂
Thanks, yeah forgiveness brings such freedom and life is too short and precious to remain in the chains that we often wrap around ourselves. This quote hits me hard and keeps me pushing forward. 🙂
Such straightforward words with meaning….if only everyone would do so…. Diane
Amen! Blessed to see you here! 🙂

Thanks Sherri! Hope you have a blessed weekend?! 🙂
This is so very true! God doesn’t guarantee us tomorrow. We should forgive people and love people today!
Amen!
Lovely thoughts worth pondering. Thank you for sharing this.
