Thankful Thursday: 6.44 mile walk

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

Just to say this is the walk i did yesterday (Wayfaring Wednesday) but i didn’t have time to write it, so here it is.

My plan was to walk the whole (brand new) ‘Trinity Lap’ which is around 11 miles, i’ll let you know if i actually complete it, lol. I packed my backpack with my new rain mac, plenty of water and supplies as i thought i’d be out for about 4 hours in on the trail. As you know i’ve made 3 loops in 1 big lap but never walked the whole thing in one go…And i still haven’t!

I think my mind was still thinking my body was in full race condition (2 years since my ultra marathon walk) and not that i’m 3.5 stone heavier and not walked for ages, lol! I had taken the usual lovely photo of the pond and just finished the very noisy road section, when as it went beautifully quiet, peaceful with just the sound of the tweeting birds as i entered the woods again (see below) my body let me down…😨

I was walking along the new section of the ‘Trinity Lap’ when embarrassingly i suddenly was bursting for the toilet! 😨 I was still about 3 miles from home as i was on the opposite side of the loop, and it was not going away…I’ll just say that i was so thankful that somehow i made it all the way home! πŸ™ πŸ˜€

Now it’s time to read my old posts and try and figure out how i used to do this as i’ve forgotten, lol. But i’m so thankful that even though i’m blind, i can go out and attempt these things and capture some photos for you to enjoy around the world…I don’t think i’ll ever get used to have you guys out there to love, encourage and support me in ways i didn’t even know were possible…Thanks for being a blessing! πŸ™ πŸ˜€

A Biblical Blessing:..πŸ™

I do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:9-14)

  1. Steve, you also are getting older – whaaaat? Are you in your forties yet, can’t remember any post you may have done about talking about your age. But, forty is a milestone and a line crossing. You are fortunate in the aspect, I imagine, that you will not experience over forty eyes, where you now have to use reading glasses. I’m fifty-four now and back about when I was forty-two or forty-three, I went to the eye doctor to discuss my vision. I spent $90 to have the doctor tell I was over forty and would need to get reading glasses and that it would get worse as I got older & my eyes are affected by, I guess pollen, and that I needed to by allergy drops.

Both the reading glasses and the eyes drops can be bought over the counter for about ten dollars each. So, I spent $90 to find out I needed to spend $20. Oh well, such is life. lol. But, besides the visions issues after forty, our whole bodies just start to go kaput. It’s not impossible with hard work to counteract that for a time, but truth is, our bodies will go back to the dust of the earth like our Creator said they will. So looking forward to that immortal body we will get, right?

Hugs and Prayers, you are doing awesome, keep up the good work. Say HI to Sarah for me. Just maybe one day we all will get to meet here on this planet, if not, in the next life.

    • Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I’m 48 at the moment and i’ll be 49 in just under 2 weeks! πŸ’ͺ🏼 So sorry to hear about your eyes and i hope they’ll get sorted out soon. As i went blind at 24 you’re right about me not having to go through the older eyes thing, lol. 🀣

I can’t wait to see you either blurry in this life, lol or perfect in the next. Thanks so much for always being here and commenting, encouraging and building me up with your wisdom filled posts and comments. πŸ™ πŸ˜€

      • Some people get laser surgery with a pretty good success rate, some don’t. But its pretty pricey and I don’t have insurance to cover that. So, store bought cheater readers, as some people call them, and allergy drops it is for now – lol. Just wait til you past 50 – heads up – lol. You are fast approaching over over the hill – LOL.

        • Lol, yeah 50 is only 12 months away now, so i’d better get in my fundraising walking challenge this year before it’s too late, lol! 🀣

Your allergy drops sound good even if not ideal, but the other laser etc sounds really pricey! Yeah i’ve had to adapt pretty much everything to just be able to get along, but it’s worked this far and thanks to screen readers etc i never thought i’d be online and chatting to a loving sister in Christ like yourself! πŸ˜€
