The Hoka speedgoat 6 Trail Shoes…π²

Hi Fitblitzers…
Hi FitBlitz Friends! . Now these bad boys will really put the ‘Motivation’ in to Mondays walk, lol! π€£ This morning me and my lovely wife Sarah visited Fitstuff (running specialists) in Guildford, Surrey, UK, to buy some more trail shoes now I’m back FitBlitzing again, and to help me with my determination to lose the 50 pounds I need to! Yes that’s 50 pounds now I’m 50 years old! πͺπΌ
I tried around 6 pairs of shoes, all different makes and styles…And these ones fit perfect with just the right amount of cushioning, grip and weight. I can’t have too much cushioning as I need to feel the trail, as I’m blind I use my feet lots to help guide me around along with my Soundscape app. π
Sarah’s stupendous Oat & Almond Fruit Protein Pancakes…

I seriously can’t describe how tasty these protein pancakes are…They should be banned, lol! These are Sarah’s custom make (top secret recipe) pancakes. All she told me is that she’s used oat flour, Almond flour and Whey Isolate for extra protein boost! I then add zero fat greek yogurt and after Sarah’s covered them with zingy fruit…I add the special Grove Farm sugar free Maple Syrup (diabetic friendly) which is only 9 calories per 2 table spoons! π²
I can’t wait to get out on the trail with my new Speedgoats, and also eat more of those stupendous pancakes…Losing weight has never tasted so good! πͺπΌ π
Let’s ‘FitBlitz’ 2025 Together!! πͺπΌ π

July 12, 2025

Between those incredible shoes and the much more incredible pancakes, you’ve had quite a day. If she’s ever open to sharing the recipe, let me know. I’m really thrilled that you are approaching this renewed walking with such passion and purpose. Way to go, Steve!
Thanks Dayle! Yes I’m all in on the walking trail walking and losing my extra 49 pounds. I need to lose 50 pounds while I’m 50 years old, I have until next April 2026 to do it! πͺπΌ π
As for the protein pancakes…As we were in Portugal 3 months ago, we found a health cafe, and they were about the only cafe that would sell healthy things which are suitable for Sarah as she lives with Type 1 Diabetes. They did oat pancakes with sugar free jam etc, and it didn’t change Sarah’s blood sugar, so we visited that cafe as many times as we could. π
So when we got home Sarah got straight to work on boosting the health and protein of them, and we have them every week. I’m not sure what she puts in them (I think she uses my blindness against me as I can’t see what she’s putting in, lol) but they are so tasty and you’d never know they were sugar free or super low sugar anyway! I only know they are top secret and I’m probably in trouble for posting them, lol! π€£
Steve, congratulations on getting back on the trails! However, Sarah’s yummy protein pancakes dominated the your post. They look and sound delicious!
Thanks so much! I’ve really needed to get back out there and put my guitar down, lol! I was so excited about my new shoes that I thought I’d write this post about them…But as soon as I added the pancakes to the bottom I knew they’d top trump the shoes! π€£
Yes! You Hoka shoes should be good. I have a pair that are good for walking constantly on concrete and they are great. Your trail shoes should work great.
Wow your shoes sounds amazing too! Whilst trying about 6 pairs of shoes, the lady gave me a road version from HOKA, and I said “Wow I could wear these all day they are so comfy”, so I know what you mean about HOKA they are fantastic! π
Yes, Hokas are fantastic, Steve. Look forward to your reports on your progress on the trails.
I’m not having any other make from now on…It’s Speedgoats all the way on the trail! I have the Speedgoat 6 at the moment, so I’m not sure how far up the versions I’ll get, lol!
I hope I can keep it interesting out there for you, although I never know what’s going to happen! π π
Steve telling a story of your trail workouts should be interesting reading. You want to lose weight and their may be challenges on the trail.
It’s definitely interesting as I have no idea what’s going to happen once I leave home! π
LOL
