1 Corinthians 1:10-14 (VOICE)
My brothers and sisters, I urge you by the name of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed, to come together in agreement. Do not allow anything or anyone to create division among you. Instead, be restored, completely fastened together with one mind and shared judgment. I have heard troubling reports from Chloe’s people that you, my siblings, are consumed by fighting and petty disagreements. What I have heard is that each of you is taking sides, saying, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,” or “I am with Cephas,” or “I am with the Anointed One.” Has the Anointed One been split up into many small pieces? Do you think Paul was crucified for you? Were you ceremonially washed through baptism[a] into the name of Paul? Absolutely not!
Paul knows that if the work of Jesus’ gospel degenerates into a cult of personality, it will hardly resemble true Christianity. If the focus is on Paul, Cephas, Apollos, or any famous religious leader, then that distracts from the person and central message of Jesus. Any cult of personality is intoxicating, and it is often easier to claim to follow a person who can be seen and touched. But Christianity is founded upon the belief that Jesus is the head of the church and that all of His followers serve His will as a part of the royal priesthood.

Amen! Thank you dear brother! 🙂
Thanks once again Toni! I’m so blessed to have such a loving sister! 🙂
I have to share with you some news my sister just told us. She has been on Ancestry.com and traced our heritage back to merry old England and we are related to King Richard 3rd maybe. I was shocked, I had no clue. So I guess I have some of that great English blood in my veins. Crazy world! Have a blessed day!
Wow!! That is a crazy world! 😀
This really is the United Kingdom! lol
🙂
Well said!
Thanks! 🙂
Thank you for this post. It’s hard to remember that it’s never about US!
Amen! Yeah its hard to keep the little “i” in our Christian lives. Thats how i came up with the name of my blog. I liked the little i before the Christian to represent that we need to keep ourselves small to let God be big.
Sorry didn’t mean to ramble on! 😀
Reblogged this on Joseph Poirier and commented:
This is always true! We need to be a mirror reflection the truth and hope of Jesus Christ salvation. Many times we can be self wanting and we need to make sure this doesn’t happen. We should be selfless and pointing people to Jesus teachings and now our own. Great post check it out!
So true Steve. Good post! We always need to be pointing to Jesus and not ourselves!
Amen Steve!
