The Beautiful Blessing Of Music

I’ve been blessed so much this weekend by loving brothers & sisters and the beautiful blessing of music. This morning i was asked to play alongside a beautiful voice and sister in Christ Robyn for her friends (Emma) baptism this morning. As we were finishing the song “Love Came Down” and i was gently ending the song, i just had enough time to wipe the tears from my eeys (she sang it beautifully) It was a great honour for me to be asked to do this and i still can’t quite believe it now.

And….

Tonight during our evening service dear friend and loving sister Sara (the Voice) said she would sing for us tonight in our acoustic service with me and Sarah (her haunting woodwind moves my very bones), and if that isn’t enough….brother and great friend Phil (the immense guitar talent) also came along to play with us. I’ve never had so much fun, love or praise during a service before so just had to let you guys know how thankful, blessed & deeply moved i feel right now!

When i was learning guitar after being registered blind, i simply had no idea what Jesus had in store for me, and all i can say is…..

Thank you Jesus!

The best, most beautiful, and most perfect way that we have of expressing a sweet concord of mind to each other is by music.

  1. This put a smile on my face…I could feel the joy that you must have experienced. I think music is such a gift. If we have the talent to use it to rejoice, worship or just indulge in the beauty of it, then we are truly blessed. 🙂
I have a Takamine guitar that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I don’t play it as well as I’d like to, but it makes me happy.

    • Amen! Totally agree! I’m feeling truly blessed at the moment with the music the Lord is showing me!
Your Takamine guitar sounds like a lovely guitar too, i pray you’ll pick it up more and be a blessed, and be a blessing to others. X 🙂

  2. Steve , for some reason this just made me cry .. not bad tears, but just tears at God’s goodness and His plans for you beyond what you ever imagined. Thank you so much for sharing about your music blessings!

    • Debbie thank you so much for this comment! Sorry it made you cry, but blessed it moved you to happy tears. 🙂 I certainly didn’t know i’d be blessed so much and i couldn’t even imagine being able to play music, i thought i’d always just be listening! 🙂

  3. Beautiful post, so happy for you dear brother…God bless you Steve 🙂

  4. I so appreciate the quote by Jonathan Edwards, because I miss the sweet times of spontaneous worship I used to have with friends years ago.

    • Sounds fantastic Rene! Has your music worship changed a lot over the years?

      • Yes! Finding a good church in this area is very difficult. The one I am currently attending has a heart for missions, is pretty doctrinally sound in the non-negotiables, and reaches out to the community, but it is a bit more conservative and traditional than what I prefer, so the worship consists mostly of hymns accompanied with only a piano. The sweet times of spontaneous worship with friends years ago just felt more like spiritual worship, y’know?

  5. I am so happy for you Steve, your joy in life and the Lord is contagious 🙂

Any thoughts? I'd love to hear from you!
