I’m pretty sure God doesn’t need us to defend him as a dog might defend his master. If my dogs are any indication, they would bark even when there isn’t an imminent attack or even a threat of one; as do many Christians.
I think all of that comment is beside the point and maybe the statement was taken too literally. The point is more so from the perspective of doing nothing, staying silent, maybe cowering. Why would anyone do that in regard to something that is pure, right, and just, and that is being attacked? God doesn’t NEED humans to do anything FOR Him 🙂 Although He does use us by working in and then hopefully through us-it’s just the way He works very often.
Hi, and thanks for these comments! 😀
When i first read this quote yesterday, 2 things instantly filled my mind…
1st was loving memories of my beautiful Boxer dog called “Bruce” who died 5 years ago. He would defend me to the death if he had too, he seemed to love me that much! 😀
2nd was the challenging fact that the Church is a pillar, defender and foundation of the Truth! The very Truth that Jesus prayed to His Father that we’d be sanctified [set apart, dedicated, made holy] in [Your] truth.
The “Truth” is being attacked from both sides(outside and inside the church) and will leave a “RUT” if Christians continue to stay silent and completely ignore the will of God by doing whatever feels right to them,
It is vital to share “Truth in Love” and never isolate them.
