That Popping Sound?! 😨

Muddy section of the trail marathon lap

Hi all. I hope the photo above (taken this morning) shows just how muddy this tiny section of my trail marathon lap really was?! As i was slopping through the mud i heard that loud popping sound, whilst at the same time feeling my shoe being ripped off from some monster underneath the mud!! 😨 Thankfully i was wearing my INOV8 X-Talen 190 trail shoes (Sarah bought them 4 years ago for the Tough Mudder) which fit like a glove and didn’t get ripped off…Phew! Otherwise it would have been a very sloppy, freezing and different outcome to my walk today. Just thought i’d share this with you guys…There’s always drama when this blindman decides to go out walking, lol! 🤣

Hope you’re having a great time so far this year and you are either starting to set goals? Or you’re already smashing…

  1. I really like reading about your experiences Steve. I am very impressed by what you have accomplished. You should be very proud for sure. I know how difficult it can be. I had brain surgery in 2008 due to epilepsy and many seizures since that time but still I try to stay in shape. I continue running and was even doing gymnastics and ring training until a few years ago. There is no facility here for that now and I have put on a few pounds and the rings are very unforgiving. LOLOLOL. I have a injury to deal with (possible PCL or hamstring attachment tear) that needs to heal but I will be back running again). take it slow. With all of that said keep up the great work. GOD BLESS

    • Hi, wow i didn’t know anyone actually enjoyed reading about my everyday litlle battles with health and fitness, and my adventures in the woods, lol?! 🤣 But i’m so thankful for you who keeps reading and i hope i can keep helping without helping. 💪🏼 I love the fact you keep battling too even though how hard it must be for you…Your injuries sound really painful and i pray for healing as quickly as possible. 🙏 Also love your fighting spirit and although you’ve been set back you’ll keep fighting! 💪🏼 😀 Thank you so much for commenting and it gives me a kick up the bum to keep writing about my little challenges too! 🤣 Have you always enjoyed running? And fitness in general? God bless you. 😀

      • To tell the truth I was not always active as a child. I was always kind clumsy so I swam most of the the time. I was a very good swimmer. For some reason though my balance is really good so I could control the rings and do well with gymnastics. I was always better off the ground lololol. I was not good at other sports so I stayed with the swimming and eventually got into scuba diving and joined the Navy. Because of my injuries I am out of the service now but I still try to stay fit. Yes and keep with your battles. I love hearing about them. It’s great inspiration for sure. GOD BLESS.

        • Wow thanks so much for sharing a little about yourself. I find it incredible that a little blindman can help inspire you who has just come out of the navy! 😲 But if i can help inspire you or anyone else then i’ll keep going! 💪🏼 😀
