Step By Step

“He [Satan] will take away your prayer life little by little, and cause you to trust God less and less and yourself more and more, a little at a time. He will make you feel somewhat cleverer than before. Step by step, you are misled to rely more on your own gift, and step by step your heart is enticed away from the Lord.”

  1. Very powerful quote. It reminds me of the song “Slow Fade” by Casting Crowns”.

  2. well you just hit another favorite Christian author….especially Watchman Nee’s The Normal Christian Life

  3. This is a very powerful quote and a humbling truth. Lord, lead us ever toward You, and protect us from falling into the pit of thinking we know how to direct our own lives.

  4. I don’t really “like” this truth – for it is truth indeed. We must remain vigilant at every turn. Sometimes it gets tiresome. That’s when we’re in the most danger. Thanks for posting this warning.

    Have a blessed day.
