“In an effort to gain “converts,” Christians often refrain from telling the full story. We want people to follow, so like cheap salesmen, we share the benefits without explaining the cost. We tell them about Jesus’ promises of life and forgiveness, but we don’t mention His calls for repentance and obedience. We avoid His promise that we will experience persecution. When we do this, we cheapen the gospel.”

priscilla shirer tells a funny story about something like this. she said when asked to preach at one place, right before she got up, someone told her, “we’re a seeker and pre-seeker church,” so upon asking, they told her that meant there are some who know they need Jesus, but some who don’t know they need to even seek Him, so please be mindful of that n not be too forward about the gospel/telling ppl they need Jesus. So she got up to preach, and the first thing she yelled was, “DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED JESUS?” LOL. i love her! 🙂 happy anniversary, man. 🙂
Lol, great story, thanks so much for taking time to share it here! 😀
Thank you so much for the Happy Anniversary too! I can’t tell you how blessed i am to have such responsibility of loving my bride as Jesus loves the church…Wow i’m simply not worthy, but what a blessing! 😀
So true, one must preach and teach the whole counsel of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Amen! I’m still stunned to hear so much teaching on only one aspect of His character. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking time to comment! It’s such a blessing to see you here. God bless you.
I respect you as a Christian so much.
Awwww this comment simply blew me away!
I really am nothing but a saved sinner trying to share the Truth in this dark world. And encouraging my Brothers & Sisters in Christ on here! 😀
