“It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their [the communists’ ] terms. It was a deal; we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching. They were happy beating us, so everyone was happy.”

  1. Yep, that was Christianity, not the drivel being served up by most churches today. And I’m an optimist, because I believe in the King.

  2. An amazing man, Founder of Voice of the Martyrs they basically had to (friends) force him and his wife to leave Romania to avoid further persecution. Oh that we would be that strong in the face of trials.

  3. This quote is prophetic. The Book is amazing. The man is a saint. I think we must be entering a period of greater persecution in the US. Holy Mother of God, pray for us!

Any thoughts? I'd love to hear from you!
