Tuner Tuesday: iWalk 3.42 miles πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ¦―

The Pond Panorama…

A panoramic view of a tranquil pond bordered by lush green woodland on a sunny day. On the left, mature oak trees frame a serene body of water reflecting the bright blue sky and clouds. A small white sign is attached to the trunk of a large tree in the foreground. To the right, a sun-dappled dirt path curves along the edge of dense forest foliage and underbrush.

Hi Friends…

It’s Tuner Tuesday again, which means it was time to get back out onto the trail and put in another bit of training…And of course, no Tuner Tuesday would be complete without my trustyΒ Tuna Stack Sandwich, lovingly prepared by Sarah. πŸ˜‹

I’m beginning to think the sandwich is actually an essential part of the whole Tuner Tuesday experience. The walk, the photos, the hat and the tuna sandwich. That’s the routine. And yes, I wore my new wide-brimmed sun hat again…I’m becoming rather attached to this thing.

With the sun blazing down today, that big brim did a pretty good job of keeping some of it at bay, which made the walk a lot more comfortable. I’m still not a fan of being roasted alive while I’m trying to walk, so anything that keeps a bit of that sunshine off my head is a winner in my book. But I’ve discovered something rather disappointing…

The hat isn’t magical.

Despite the trail being pretty busy today, I didn’t get a single “Good morning.” Not one.

Because today I wasn’t wearing my usual khaki outfit. Nope. I was dressed entirely in black. So maybe the combination of wide-brimmed hat + khaki clothing was giving off some sort of unofficial park ranger vibe after all. Clearly I need to conduct further scientific research. I’ll probably have to wear the khaki outfit again and see what happens.

And then there were the photographs.

A panoramic scene of a dirt woodland trail stretching straight through a dense forest bathed in sunlight. Golden-brown and bright green ferns carpet the ground in the foreground. Tall, leafy trees arch over both sides of the path, casting soft shadows across the ground beneath a clear, light blue sky.

I’ve taken not one, but TWO panoramas today!

I’m definitely getting plenty of practice in, because I’m going to need all the training I can get before we head to Florida next April. Every panorama I take is another bit of practice in getting the positioning right, keeping everything steady and getting a feel for how the finished image is going to come together. Considering I’ll have some pretty spectacular scenery to work with in Florida, I’d rather get the mistakes out of the way here!

So that’s another walk, another bit of fitness training, another experiment with the camera, another opportunity to test the magical powers of my hat…And naturally, another Tuner Tuesday complete with Sarah’s Tuna Stack Sandwich. Although I’m still slightly concerned about the lack of “Good mornings.” Maybe it really was the khaki.

Now focus…

Now it’s time to get back in tune: back to a healthy calorie deficit, consistent walking, and working towards a healthier version of myself. With around 9 months until my birthday trip to Florida (God willing), I’ve got a great goal to keep me focused, one step at a time. πŸ˜€

Motivational Quote:..πŸ’ͺ🏼

“Getting fit isn’t about being perfectly in tune every day. It’s about showing up, putting in the miles, practising the things that matter, and making a few adjustments along the way. Today it was another walk, two panoramas, a wide-brimmed hat, a Tuna Stack Sandwich and plenty of practice for Florida. Some days we’re building strength, some days we’re building habits, and some days we’re just figuring out why nobody said ‘Good morning!’ πŸ˜‚ But every step counts. The goal isn’t to rush the journey…it’s to keep moving forward, stay focused, enjoy the little wins, and trust God with the bigger picture. One step, one choice and one Tuner Tuesday at a time.”

Let’s ‘FitBlitz’ 2026 Together! πŸ’ͺ🏼

    Hello Steve,

Thanks for your visits to my blog and for your comments. I read all comments left on my blog and appreciate them. I don’t typically respond to each comment but love to visit the commenters blog and dialogue that way. Well done on your tuner Tuesday and Panoramas. Your trip to Florida sounds like very good motivation for getting into good healthy shape. Greg and I are working on dropping some pounds for an upcoming family trip to Hawaii. We have lots of great milestones to celebrate together. One of our cutting down on calories method is splitting meals when we eat out. That is too bad that you didn’t get one ‘good morning’. I’m craving a tuna sandwich. It’s 11am here in NE Washington State so it’s getting close to lunchtime. I suppose if you are in England it’s 7pm or later. Hope you have a lovely evening.

Thanks Ellen! It sounds like you and Greg have got a great goal to work towards too. Hawaii sounds like a pretty good incentive! 😊 I love that we’re both working on getting healthier for something special rather than just chasing a number on the scales. Having something ahead to look forward to definitely helps keep me focused.

Splitting meals when eating out is a great idea too. I think portion sizes can get a bit ridiculous sometimes, so sharing one makes a lot of sense…Especially as I can easily eat for 2! 😨

And yes, you got the time difference right… it was around 7pm here when you were thinking about lunch! πŸ˜‚ I have to admit, your tuna sandwich comment made me laugh. Sarah’s Tuna Stack Sandwich has apparently become a recurring character on the blog, and I can’t wait for Tuesday’s to come around! πŸ˜‹

Thanks again for stopping by and for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. And I hope you and Greg have a wonderful trip to Hawaii when the time comes! πŸ™

One foot in front of the other, that’s all we can do. I love that the goal isn’t to rush the journey, just keep at it. You and Sarah will be so ready when you get here! Can’t wait!

Thanks Dayle! That really is what it comes down to, isn’t it? One foot in front of the other and just keep going, even when the journey doesn’t quite go to plan.

And knowing Florida is waiting for us certainly gives me something to keep working towards! Nine months sounds a long way off, but I know it’ll fly by. Sarah and I are both really looking forward to finally getting there and seeing you all. It’s going to be one heck of an adventure! 😊

Until then, I’ll keep walking, keep taking those panoramas, keep testing the supposedly magical hat… and apparently keep eating tuna sandwiches! πŸ˜‚
