The Holiness Of God & The Love Of God

โ€œTo be really Bible-believing Christians we need to practice, simultaneously, at each step of the way, two biblical principles.

One principle is that of the purity of the visible church. Scripture commands that we must do more than just talk about the purity of the visible church; we must actually practice it, even when it is costly.

The second principle is that of an observable love among all true Christians. In the flesh we can stress purity without love, or we can stess love without purity; we cannot stress both simultaneously. To do so we must look moment by moment to the work of Christ and to the Holy Spirit. Without that, a stress on purity becomes hard, proud, and legalistic; likewise without it a stress on love becomes sheer compromise.

Spiritually begins to have real meaning in our lives as we begin to exhibit simultaneously the holiness of God and the love of God. We never do this perfectly, but we must look to the living Christ to help us do it truly.โ€

Unfortunately, Steve, this is why I don’t attend any physical church. The ones I have been to seem to forget completely what Yeshuah actually taught, which was to follow His father’s commands. Instead they teach that Yeshuah died for us, took all our sin, and now we are all just hunky dory, and going to heaven, just because of this. This is not true. You cannot go out and sin, ask for forgiveness on sunday, and then go out and commit the same sin again, and still make it to heaven. At least I don’t think that is what it means, that He covered us and took our sin away. I truly think it means he took the sins of our forefathers away, turning to idolity, committing murder and waging war in God’s name, etc. so that now we have a clean slate. They don’t teach that we need to seek God First, even over Jesus Christ… they don’t teach that we are to Observe the Sabbath, which is SATURDAY, not sunday… which was originally changed by Constantine for his evil Mother who worshipped the sun goddess, and they never teach that IF WE DO ALWAYS HONOR THE SABBATH, there are BLESSINGS that we will be showered with, and CURSES if WE DO NOT!! These are all well documented in scripture, yet modern churches have lost their way, trying to please their parishoners and keep them happy, by telling them it’s ok, no matter what you do, you will go to heaven if you believe in Christ. They teach what they want to hear, not what they NEED TO HEAR! They have not kept the church pure in any way. They are corrupting it, if you ask me. They are leading the sheep off a cliff! This breaks my heart, and makes me so angry…. as you can tell by this post! lol sorry, but I wish you would post something that makes them stop and think…. you have tons of followers…. teach them what they NEED to hear, not what they want to hear!!!

    • Hi, thank you so much for this great comment.
I feel a lot like you, in that i’m seeing Sanctification, Holiness, the pursuit of Purity and the Truth being dissolved(even denied) in the modern approach of keeping people(and their feelings) happy in their place of entertainment!! There is too much worldly teaching being used to try and attract the unbelievers, and compromise of scripture is rampant.
I also think that the Gospel, which is the Power of God unto salvation for all that believe, is being cheapened and brought down to human level, It’s almost like they’re ashamed of it, so they dilute it, and therefore lose all Power of the Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that can save a soul and give new life not Man!
It is the Truth that sets us free, and i agree that false teachers(and their false doctrines) are leading the sheep of a cliff.
I like to think that quotes like the one above, do convict people. I know i never post a quote unless it convicts me first!
I thank God for you. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving this amazing comment! God bless you. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks Steven! When i stumbled on this quote it really spoke to me, as it’s what i’ve been witnessing a lot lately in our “Modern” church. So just had to post. Frances Schaffer’s words are full of Godly wisdom, i think i’ll read a lot more of his books etc. ๐Ÿ™‚
I don’t post any quotes unless they convict me first. ๐Ÿ™‚
