Wellness Wednesday: iWalk 3.40 miles 👨🏻‍🦯

The Pond…

Hi Friends…

Today i completed one lap with absolutely no dramas — well, almost! At one point I very nearly lost a leg down a hole in the path. It looked about the size of a dinner plate, with what seemed to be a dinner-plate-sized section of ground just sitting there, before suddenly sinking straight down as I placed my foot on it! Somehow my foot stayed out of the hole, and instinctively I reacted by shifting my weight and lifting my foot straight back up. Even more amazingly, the lugs on my HOKA Speedgoats seemed to latch onto the side of the hole and, quite possibly, saved my life! 😂 It was one of those split-second moments where things could have ended very differently, but thankfully I didn’t crumple my legs and face-plant the trail. I survived the near miss completely unscathed, followed by a huge sigh of relief and a little smile because I knew I’d just narrowly avoided a pretty nasty fall.

The funny thing is, I completely forgot to photograph the offending hole! 🤦🏼‍♂️ And because I’m not quite sure exactly where it was, I’m now hoping that when I head back out tomorrow it’s been filled in — because I really don’t fancy testing my HOKAs quite that way again! 😂 I’ll let you know how I get on, lol. 🙏 😀
