Motivational Monday: Ragtime, Rain & Sarah’s Common Sense! 😀

I thought I’d share a little musical moment from our family holiday in Pembrokeshire back in January 2020, when I picked up my Baby Taylor and played some ragtime tunes, completely unaware that my lovely wife Sarah was filming me! 😀 Sometimes, a little music, a few smiles, and precious moments with family are all we need to brighten up a Monday. So here’s a little blast from the past to hopefully bring a smile to your face too. Have a blessed Monday, Friends! 🎶

Hi Friends.

Well, it’s Monday again, and normally that means getting out onto the trail for another walk. But today, my lovely wife Sarah has other ideas! With the wind blowing and the very real possibility of trees or branches coming down, Sarah has quite firmly suggested that I stay home. And do you know what? She’s right! You might remember my post from September 2025, when I headed out onto the trail despite strong wind warnings, only to encounter a fallen tree along the way. Thankfully, I stopped in time and made it home safely.

Looking back, that experience seems particularly relevant today. I love walking, I love the routine, and I love making progress towards my fitness goals. But no number on my Apple Watch is worth taking an unnecessary risk. Motivation isn’t about ignoring every warning and pushing through regardless. Sometimes, it’s about having the wisdom to change your plans, and to listen to the ones who care about us.

Sarah stands outdoors on a sunny day against a backdrop of a green lawn and dark bushes, wearing dark sunglasses, a necklace, and a yellow spaghetti-strap top. She is smiling while holding a large, bright yellow toy flower on a stick in her right hand. The entire photograph is set within a circular frame that features a distinct radial stretch and "sunburst" warping effect radiating outward from the center.

So today, the trail can wait, and I’ll be ready to get back out there when conditions are safer. And Sarah? Well, I think she deserves a little extra appreciation for looking after me, even when my enthusiasm for a challenge occasionally gets ahead of my common sense! After all, progress isn’t always measured in miles, minutes or medals. Sometimes, progress means making a wise decision, protecting what matters, and understanding that tomorrow is another opportunity.

Today’s Motivational Quote…

Keep your faith strong, look after yourself, and remember that tomorrow is another opportunity to make progress. Have a blessed Monday, everyone! 😀
