Ā Buenos dĆas (Good Morning) š Ā
The āBlind Sightseersā have arrived in Minorca! I love the way weāve had 3 different languages in 3 days..Italian, French and now Spanish! š Ā
Today was a beach break on one of the south coast beaches. Letās hope itās a relaxing one but you never know, lol!Ā
On the dock…
After another lovely breakfast š„ we headed out onto the dock to get the coach.Ā
The beach…
This beach was much easier to find (unlike the one in Corfu) and Sarah instantly walked across the sand and into the sea, yay! š Ā Ā
Ā Sarah then came back and found a place to put our towels, sit and put our bagsā¦Then walked straight back into the sea! š Ā
Ā Although it wasnāt really a hot sunny day and it was very windy and cloudy, i still was boiling and had to go for a cooling off. š Ā
Ā We had a lovely time although sand blasted and totally covered in sand. it was a lovely place and it was good for me and Sarah to chill out for a while. š Ā Ā
Ā Back at the dock…
After a quick refresh on the ship we were sand free and ready to explore. The main street ran parallel to the ship so we couldnāt get lost. We found a few shops and in one of them Sarah found a lovely necklace, yay! We continued walking up the street until we reached the end. āOoooohhh palm treesā i said. Ā
Ā The cafe and the storm…
Ā The black clouds were moving in quickly so when we found a lovely cafe i said āAs these tables are 3 deep and completely covered, if we sit in the middle the rain will never get us hereā. We sat down and waited for the waitress.
And then…
Iāve never witnessed rain like this ever. It gave no warning and came down (sideways) very hard, very heavy and very fast! Even though we were sat a long way from the end of the shelter we were getting soaked. The waitress ran out collected something off the tables and ran in. I thought āSheās done this before, lol! Sarah grabbed me and we flew inside.Ā
The whole point of coming to a cafe in a Spanish countryā¦Was we wanted to ask for ‘Patatas Fritasā. Sarahās dad and brothers spent a lot of time in Spain and can speak fluent Spanish, so when the waitress came over to ask us what we wantedā¦Both Sarah and i said ‘Patatas Fritasā. The waitress looked at us and said āSo you want chips!ā ā¹ļø Although we didnāt get the Spanish languageā¦The chips didnāt disappoint.Ā
We could still hear the thunderous rain storm outside and we had to get back to the ship soonā¦I think we were going to get soakedā¦.We did! š Ā
On the ship…Ā
Wow what a beautiful sunset… Ā
Ā Yay we finally have a photo of my lovely wife Sarah in the evening restaurant and sheās wearing her new necklace!
Ā Now we know why this ship is called the Thomson Majesty..Such a beautiful piano set in a lovely part of the ship with my lovely wife Sarah (meaning Princess).
Ā The Blind Sightseers have had another lovely day exploring yet another islandā¦And although itās the end of this ‘Treasures of the Mediterraneanā Cruise itās not they end of our monumental tour during this lockdown.Ā
So letās jump from this Thomson Majesty ship onto the Marella Discovery. Thomson were also bought out by Tui and now the ships are called Marella instead of Thomson.
I wonder where this ship is heading??
To be continued…Ā
