We Need You

IPray Blue Shadow Logo

Father, help us to do your Word and not just hear it. Help us to live a life that is pleasing to you in what we say, what we watch, what music we listen to, what we wear, what we think, where we go, and how we live. help us to be mindful that we represent you.Β

Help us to live by and lift up the standard that has already been set by your Son. Bring us into alignment with your Word & your will for our lives. Help us to be better stewards over our time, over our finances, over our resources, over our families, and over all that you have given us. Let our delight be in the Lord, the Word of God. Help us To meditate on your Word day & night.Β

Please give us the Spirit of discernment so that your will for us might be made clear.

Help us Lord, we need you, in Jesus name, Amen.

Have You Received This Gift?

Christmas Logo

β€œIsn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about? – Charlie Brown

“Aren’t we forgetting the true meaning of Christmas? You know… the birth of Santa!” – Bart Simpson

Are you aware of this simple fact, that God couldn’t possibly love you more than He does right now? That He loves you as much as a perfect God can? That He loves you perfectly, and there’s nothing you can do to make Him love you more? There’s nothing you can do to earn His approval; you have it. Are you aware of that? Do you realise how deeply God loves you?”Β

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”Β John 3:16

Have you received this gift?Β

Father, today and through this season, give me the ability and the willingness to realise how deeply and passionately You love me. Amen.

Let Us Pray

Prayer Logo

Let us pray for the Church and for the world, and let us thank God for his goodness:

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, you promised through your Son Jesus Christ to hear us when we pray with faith.

We pray for your Church today, gathering all around the world in tiny churches and great cathedrals, to praise you, to hear your holy word, and to meet with you in bread and wine. Give us a sense of expectation as we come and inspiration as we go. Help us to put our differences behind us and to behind the great commission of Jesus to make disciples of all nations.

We pray for a world which struggles to live justly and in peace. We pray for those who have to search for daily food or walk long distances for clean water. We remember with sadness those whose live are cut short by preventable diseases and malnutrition, and those who have fled their homes for fear of violence. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done as it is in the heavenly places.

We thank you God for your forgiveness and for revealing that you are Love. Thank you for those people who sustain us by sharing this love to us. Thank you for the network of people with whom our lives are inextricably linked and who make up the fabric of our family and community life. Make us alert to each other’s needs and quick to serve and encourage one another. May our gentleness with each other reflect your gentleness with us.

We pray for those who are laid low by suffering and those who are experiencing the outrageous assault of pain. We trust your love for us and for all people, and your deep desire for our well-being. As we name in our hearts those who are in the grip of suffering, help us so to pray and to act that they may know your comfort and healing, both now and in the coming days.

We thank you for those people who have tonight given us examples and models by which we try to live. We thank you for those who have lived and died in quiet holiness and whose prayers have helped to sustain the world. Help us to live in the light be which they lived, and to worship the source of that light, Jesus Christ our risen Lord.

Rejoicing in the fellowship of all people, we commend ourselves to your unfailing love. Merciful Father, accept these prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

My Thoughts πŸ’

Tonight at our cafΓ© style evening service we were lead through this lovely prayer above. Thought you might want to join in with us. πŸ™‚

Prayer For Unity

Prayer Logo

Lord Jesus we prayed that your people would be one, forgive us Lord and take away the pride and arrogance which divides your church. Break down the walls that separate us; unite us by your spirit ant teach us how to love each other.

Help us to humbly kneel before you and surrender all, Please guide us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds as we seek to find your good and pleasing will, Amen.

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

The church I attend on sunday mornings has been without a pastor for well over a year now, so I post this prayer to try and help the body of believers unite and stay faithful to our awesome God.

I’d also love prayers from all of my amazing sisters and brothers here for this church as we seek to find a spirit filled, mature and wise pastor.

Find Worth

Prayer 4 World Logo

God, thank You SO much for holding us to a different standard than the world. Releasing me from the constantly changing expectations that are unachievable is relieving. Help me to focus on Your gift, a salvation I cannot earn, and find worth in that above anything else! Amen.

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

Judge your worth and value by what God says about you in His Word, not by how somebody else treats you!

Dead Bones

Prayer 4 2day wireless logo

Father, please open my heart! Allow me to see that we’re a vast army of formerly dead bones, brought back to life through forgiveness and the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Help us to stand strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, protected by the full armor of God, taking our stand against the devil’s schemes, in Jesus name, Amen.

Praise God

Prayer 4 2day wireless logo

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

Last night at our evening meeting, Ruth (one of our ministers) led us in an hour of praise and prayer to God. Ruth started with the prayer below and Sarah and I played 8 songs, and in-between the songs Ruth would say a prayer or a reflection which flowed beautifully for the whole hour.

It was deeply moving and I wanted to just share with you this opening prayer.

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

Praise God for: mountains and oceans, planets and stars
Praise God for big things
Praise God for: seeds and spiders, petals and drops of dew
Praise God for small things
Praise God for: rolling thunder and the crashing waves
Praise God for loud things
Praise God for: a breath of wind and a whispered prayer
Praise God for quiet things
Praise God for: soaring eagles and hairy gorillas
Praise God for strong things
Praise God for: snowflakes and cobwebs – a tiny baby
Praise God for fragile things
Praise God for: the flash of lightening and a humming bird’s wings
Praise God for fast things
Praise God for: the growth of a tree and the erosion of cliffs
Praise God for slow things
Praise God for: the moon, the sun, other worlds
Praise God for far away things
Praise God for: the person sitting next to me, my own heartbeat
Praise God for close-by things

Thank you that though you are so big,
you become small enough to meet us here on earth
though you are so strong, you show your love in gentleness
though you are loud as thunder, you speak to us in the sound of silence.
Thank you that though you could be faster than the speed of light
You choose to walk at our pace and to hold our hand.

Amen

Marriage

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

One of my fave ministries is “Telling The Truth” and this is an article on marriage by Pete Briscoe

Experiencing Life Today Logo

πŸ’¬ Quote 4 2dayΒ

β€œGetting married for sex is like buying a 747 for the free peanuts.” β€”Jeff Foxworthy

The Pew Poll reports that 44% of Americans under 30 believe that marriage is heading for extinction, but 95% of Americans want to get married someday.

That’s interesting, isn’t it?

There’s skepticism, but also intrigue. They know there’s something dynamic and special about this relationship, but our culture keeps saying, β€œMarriage was great for your grandparents, but it’s unnecessary bondage for this age of freedom.”

Time magazine recently ran a cover that simply asked in big letters, β€œWho needs marriage?” Good question. How would you answer?

Lie number 1:Β Marriage is an archaic institution irrelevant for enlightened modern people. Many believe this lie, the rest of us need to ask ourselves if marriage is even worth it. Why do we even need this anymore?”

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. β€”Genesis 2:24

This is the way God always intended it: one man, one woman coming together, becoming one, enjoying oneness in Christ. It’s God’s original plan, and it’s meant to last. He’s never rescinded it. Marriage is simply one of God’s great ideas.

I’ve done dozens of weddings over the years, and I start them all the same way:

β€œMarriage is:

  • A holy estate.
  • Instituted by God.
  • Commanded in Scripture for all who enter it lawfully and in true affection.
  • Confirmed by Christ’s solemn words and consecrated by His gracious presence at the marriage feast in Cana of Galilee.
  • Set forth by the apostle as signifying the mystical union between Christ and the Church.
  • Ordained for the consecration of union between man and woman so that the natural instincts being directed aright they might live in purity and honor.
  • Ordained for the increase of mankind and that children might be brought up in the fear and the nurture of the Lord.
  • Ordained for companionship, health, and comfort, which husband and wife ought to have of each other.
  • Ordained for the welfare of human society which can be strong and happy only where the marriage bond is held highly in honor.”
  • Satan lies. The truth is that marriage is divine, timeless, and significant. You might be in it or out of itβ€”either way, marriage is partof God’s eternal purpose for the Body of Christ… and it will be until death we do part.
πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

God, make me a vessel of Your truth. When I begin to doubt the validity and need of marriage, make me willing to take that thought captive. By Your Spirit and Your Word, convict me of Your divine purpose in the marriage covenant for my good and for Your glory. Amen.

The Armour Of God

Power Armour

Β πŸ“– Verse 4 2day ~ Ephesians 6:10-18

Β The Armour of GodΒ

10Β Finally, be strong in the LordΒ and in his mighty power.Β 11Β Put on the full armor of God,Β so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.Β 12Β For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,Β but against the rulers, against the authorities,Β against the powersΒ of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.Β 13Β Therefore put on the full armor of God,Β so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.Β 14Β Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,Β with the breastplate of righteousness in place,Β 15Β and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.Β 16Β In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,Β with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Β 17Β Take the helmet of salvationΒ and the sword of the Spirit,Β which is the word of God.

18Β And pray in the SpiritΒ on all occasionsΒ with all kinds of prayers and requests.Β With this in mind, be alert and always keep on prayingΒ for all the Lord’s people.

My Thoughts πŸ’Β
Each morning I like to pray the armour of God prayer to ask God to equip me for the day. When not in prayer, and when I hear the words armour of God my mind shoots back to the image above, which is my fave armour (T51b Power Armour) from the Playstation 3 game Fallout 3.Β

IΒ know that video games get a lot of negative abuse, butΒ IΒ would just like to share this with you. No i’m not losing sight of reality, please bear with me. πŸ˜€

A little about Fallout 3Β

Fallout 3Β is anΒ action role-playingΒ open worldΒ video game developed byΒ Bethesda Game Studios. It is the third major instalment in theΒ FalloutΒ series.Β .Β Fallout 3Β takes place in the year 2277, 36 years after the setting ofΒ Fallout 2Β and 200 years after theΒ nuclear apocalypseΒ that devastated the game’s world in a future where international conflicts between the USA and China culminated in a Sino-American war in 2077, due to the scarcity of petroleum reserves that ran the economies of both countries. more on Wikipedia.

The game is based around Washington DC (theΒ CapitalΒ Wasteland). The player faces all kinds of moral choices, situations, people, mutants andΒ feralΒ l ghouls (and worse), as he tries to find his father and the truth. As you encounter more powerful enemies without much armour yourself, you keep wishing that you will find the location of the power armour (see image above). The game (like life) is full of choices, Β you can choose to do good or you can choose to do bad, and the consequences of these choices send ripples throughout the game and change the way people receive you.

My point……Β

Β For us to stand any chance ofΒ survivingΒ against the devil’s schemes,Β powersΒ of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, we MUST choose to put on the spiritual armour. Unlike the game we know the location of this armour is in prayer.Β

Ready…..Aim..…Pray!

Β Each and every morning I urge you to pray on the literal Armour of God Ephesians 6 (as listed above). Take a moment and carefully consider the power, purpose and reality of each piece as you put it on. Whether you pray this prayer or a prayer like it, make it a daily routine that you take seriously.

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

“Lord, please help me this day put on the Full Armour of God.

Help me put the Helmet of Salvation on my head that I might always remember I am saved, and who I belong to, that my mind is guarded in Christ Jesus, and that I may have the mind of Christ and that I may think the thoughts of Christ and reject all others.

Help me put the Breastplate of Righteousness on so that I may walk about in Righteousness and others may see your Righteousness in me, and that my heart is guarded in Christ Jesus, and that I may have the desires of Christ and reject all others.

Help me keep the Belt of Truth securely buckled on my waist, that I may always be secure in the knowledge of the Truth and always speak the Truth.

Help me fit my Feet with the Readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace, that I may stand firm in the Gospel, and spread the Gospel of Peace wherever I go.

Help hold the Shield of Faith with which to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one, strengthen my arm and help me hold it high, that I may use it to protect myself, my family, my household and those under my care, and help me use the Shield of Faith to press ahead and push forward for the kingdom of God.

And Lord, help me take up the Sword of The Spirit which is the Word of God, and use it every day, help me us it to protect myself and others from the evil one through the power and authority of Your Word, and to strike the hearts and minds of those who do not know You calling them towards repentance and salvation, help me use Your Word – the Sword of the Spirit – to cause those who know you but are backslidden to repentance, obedience and service, and to help awaken those who know you, but are asleep so they may obey and serve you, and please help me use your Word to bring, encouragement, strength and wisdom to the Remnant of God through your Word.

Help me serve you this and every day. Please use me Lord. These things I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Amen”

I Offer It All

Prayer 4 2day wireless logo

Father, I don’t want to function in my own strength. I lay myself in Your hands to be used as an instrument of righteousness. I give You my mind, that I might think Your thoughts. I give You my heart, that I might love as You love. I give You my hands, that I might serve as You serve. I give You my lips and my tongue, that my words might give grace to all who hear. I offer it all to You, Lord! Do with me what You wish! Amen.
