Eileen Funeral Service

⇧ Photo of Eileen on the front of the funeral service booklet ⇧

Yesterday (Tues 14/09/2021) me and my lovely wife Sarah travelled to Derby and back (in same day), to pay our respects at Eileen’s (my step mum) funeral at the Derby crematorium. Although it was a sad occasion for everyone…It was also a wonderful time as i’d not seen some of my family for 14 years…Even more in some cases!😲

The service was a lovely tribute to Eileen and my Dad was amazing as it must have been so hard for him during this difficult time! Afterwards Eileen’s sisters Pam and Ann had prepared a buffet meal at Ann’s home which was fantastic…Thanks Elise for a lovely coffee! ā˜• Sarah & i even got to meet some more of the family here too…Like chatting about cars (obviously) with uncle Colin who i’ve not seen since 2006 in Hunstanton, Norfolk.Ā

As it’s almost impossible for me and Sarah to know who is around…I don’t know all who were there?! So i was probably with more family than i knew about, lol. 🤣 It’s gatherings like this where me and Sarah seem the most ignorant, as we simply don’t see who is there, and unless they introduce themselves we have no idea?! 😨

I couldn’t believe how tall all of my niece and nephews were!! For example Taylor was 1 year old when we last saw her at our wedding…She’s now 15! 😲 Ā Jahan & Zain (nephews) are now over 6ft tall!Ā Most of them drive (including Amy who very kindly picked us up) and all of my nieces are lovely young ladies…It was fun tying to guess who’s who by the sound of their voices as i can’t see them at all! 🤣 I could do a post for each one of them…I’m so proud! 😲 Ā Ā

It was such a blessing to meet them all again andĀ spend some time with them. They made the day run so smoothly even during this difficult time.Ā ā¤ļø

Ben (not in photo) kindly gave us a lift in his new Audi RS4 4.2 V8 to the train station to get back home…I’m writing a new post just on this experience as you know i love cars!! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

Your Most Important Stewardship

Proverbs 4:23 Amplified Bible

Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Wow, i’ve been studying the book of Proverbs this week and the Spirit has just blown me away again! We can get so busy that we completely forget the vital importance of this command, and put it somewhere further down our list. Your most important stewardship isn’tĀ your family,Ā your wealth,Ā your job, your house etc,…… It’s your heart!

The Peace Of God & The Blessing Of The Church Family

Sunday was especially blessed for me, as not only did i get to drum with the worship team, but i was asked to play a reflective song on guitar with my lovely wife Sarah on flute & Sara (the voice) singing. I chose the song ā€œIn Your Handsā€ by Unspoken (see video below) and shared a little about worry, and how we need to trustGod and Ā have more confidence in this promise to let his peace, the peace that’s beyond all understanding to guard our hearts and minds, as we offer everything (not some things) in prayer.Ā

After the service a group of us went down to the coast at Littlehampton and had a great day walking along the beach after eating chips then doughnuts! It was fantastic spending time with sisters & brothers and i felt truly blessed! šŸ™‚Ā

In Your Hands Lyrics

The dawn is breaking and I can hear Your whisper in the breeze
The world is waking and I am here to meet You on my knees
When I’m with You my soul finds rest
Cause I can leave it in Your hands

The day keeps coming pulling me a different million ways
I’m always running but never seem to catch the things I chase
When I’m with You my soul finds rest
Cause I can leave it in Your hands

(Chorus)
Every sorrow, I leave it in Your hands
Every sickness, I leave it in Your hands
All my failures, I leave them in Your hands
Amen, I leave it in Your hands

So I am laying the weight of all these burdens at Your feet
No more waiting, cause You’ve already won my victories
In Jesus my soul finds rest
Cause I can leave it in Your hands

(Chorus 2)
Every promise, I leave it in Your hands
Every healing, I leave it in Your hands
And my future, I leave it in Your hands
Amen, I can leave it in Your hands

(Bridge )
It’s Your hands that form the mountains
Your hands set boundaries for the seas
And in Your hands You hold tomorrow
The same hands that took the nails for me

(Chorus 1)
(Chorus 2)

🌹Beautiful Rosa🌹

Sarah & i spent the last couple of days up in Doncaster for Sarah’s beautiful Grans (Rosa) funeral which took place yesterday. Sarah’s Dad shared loving memories, photos and even school reports with us over a lovely home-cooked meal. I feel truly blessed to have known such an intelligent, bright & loving person, and we will all remember her fantastic sense of humour! šŸ˜€ X x x

You’re Blessed

Matthew 5:1-12Ā The Message

You’re Blessed

When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:

ā€œYou’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ā€˜care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

ā€œYou’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

ā€œYou’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

ā€œNot only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.”

We Need You

Father, help us to do your Word and not just hear it. Help us to live a life that is pleasing to you in what we say, what we watch, what music we listen to, what we wear, what we think, where we go, and how we live. help us to be mindful that we represent you.Ā

Help us to live by and lift up the standard that has already been set by your Son. Bring us into alignment with your Word & your will for our lives. Help us to be better stewards over our time, over our finances, over our resources, over our families, and over all that you have given us. Let our delight be in the Lord, the Word of God. Help us To meditate on your Word day & night.Ā

Please give us the Spirit of discernment so that your will for us might be made clear.

Help us Lord, we need you, in Jesus name, Amen.

Love you lots Nanna.

Spiritual Family

Verse Logo

1 John 5:1-6Ā The Voice

It’s easy to say ā€œI love God,ā€ but genuine love reflects God’s love. If we belong to God, then we will love each other regardless of how hard love is.

Everyone who trusts Jesus as the long-awaited Anointed One is a child of God, and everyone who loves the Father cannot help but love the child fathered by Him. Then how do we know if we truly love God’s children? We love them if we love God and keep His commands. You see, to love God means that we keep His commands, and His commands don’t weigh us down. Everything that has been fathered by God overcomes the corrupt world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

Who is the person conquering the world? It is the one who truly trusts that Jesus is the Son of God, that Jesus the Anointed is the One who came by water and blood—not by the water only, but by the water and the blood.

Just as we do not get to choose our biological brothers and sisters, we do not get to choose our spiritual brothers and sisters either. But what comes along with loving the Father is loving all His other children—even the really annoying ones! While it might seem to be easier to go off and live in isolation rather than put up with those we are not naturally attracted to, there are responsibilities that come with living in a spiritual family. We reflect our worship of God by living in respect with our Christian brothers and sisters. How we treat the people around us on a daily basis is the real test of our love for God.

Sarah & i were away visiting our families for the last 5 days. We stayed 2 nights in Doncaster to visit Sarah’s family. Then we stayed 2 nights in Derby to visit my family. It was lovely to see our families again as its been nearly 2 years since i last saw them.

God’s Love Is Greater Than Our Doubts

Verse Logo

1 John 3:2-3Ā (VOICE)

My loved ones, we have been adopted into God’s family; and we are officially His children now. The full picture of our destiny is not yet clear, but we know this much: when Jesus appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is. All those who focus their hopes on Him and His coming seek to purify themselves just as He is pure.

When we feel like we are not good enough to be loved by God, we should remember that God’s love is greater than our doubts. We must silence the sounds of condemnation so we can hear the voice of God’s loving assurance and remember that He has selected us to be part of His family.

I am really enjoying creating life from my old images though! šŸ˜€
