Itās Tuesday morning again and this meansā¦..Going to Roots Coffee Shop to get a Cappuccino and a Chicken Panini. But this time while i was sat, my mind drifted to the grim reaper tattoo on my leg. Itās a constant reminder of the position i was in when i got it, and the position iām in nowā¦.Which is life or death!Ā
As an unbeliever, i got it to simply look hard, and death was what people seemed to fear the most and they certainly didnāt like talking about it. So i thought this was the coolest thingā¦..Never knowing that God had already written about this. lol.
Ephesians 2:1-3 English Standard VersionĀ
2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedienceā 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
But now sitting here sipping my Cappuccino thinkingā¦.i still have the tattoo and yet iām in a totally different position. Born again, a new creationā¦.Not by anything i did, but by the Grace of our Lord Jesus. Unbelievable!Ā
Ephesians 2:4-10 English Standard VersionĀ
By Grace Through Faith
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christāby grace you have been savedā 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Each time i remember this tattoo on my leg, i remember that death has no sting for the Child of Godā¦..
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 English Standard VersionĀ
55 āO death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?ā
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I fail to describe the Joy and Peace this gives me, knowing he has saved me and i can trust in Him. I love the line from the old Hymn: On Christ the solid rock i stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
