WE NEED REVIVAL

WE NEED REVIVAL
ย . . . when we do not love Him as we once did.

ย . . . when earthly interests and occupations are
ย ย ย ย ย  more important to us than eternal ones.

ย . . . when we would rather watch TV and read secular
ย ย ย ย ย  books and magazines than read the Bible and pray.

ย . . . when church dinners are better attended than prayer meetings.

ย . . . when concerts draw bigger crowds than prayer meetings.

ย . . . when we have little or no desire for prayer.

ย . . . when we would rather make money than give money.

ย . . . when we put people into leadership positions in our
ย ย ย ย ย  churches who do not meet scriptural qualifications.

ย . . . when our Christianity is joyless and passionless.

ย . . . when we know truth in our heads that we are not
ย ย ย ย ย  practicing in our lives.

ย . . . when we make little effort to witness to the lost.

ย . . . when we have time for sports, recreation, and
ย ย ย ย ย  entertainment, but not for Bible study and prayer.

ย . . . when we do not tremble at the Word of God.

ย . . . when preaching lacks conviction, confrontation,
ย ย ย ย ย  and divine fire and anointing.

ย . . . when we seldom think thoughts of eternity.

ย . . . when Godโ€™s people are more concerned about their
ย ย ย ย ย ย  jobs and their careers, than about the Kingdom
ย ย ย ย ย  of Christ and the salvation of the lost.

ย . . . when Godโ€™s people get together with other believers
ย ย ย ย ย  and the conversation is primarily about the
ย ย ย ย ย  news, weather, and sports, rather than the Lord.

ย . . . when church services are predictable and “business as usual.”

ย . . . when believers can be at odds with each other and
ย ย ย ย ย  not feel compelled to pursue reconciliation.

ย . . . when Christian husbands and wives are not praying together.

ย . . . when our marriages are co-existing rather than
ย ย ย ย ย  full of the love of Christ.

ย . . . when our children are growing up to adopt worldly
ย ย ย ย ย  values, secular philosophies, and ungodly lifestyles.

ย . . . when we are more concerned about our childrenโ€™s
ย ย ย ย ย  education and their athletic activities than about
ย ย ย ย ย  the condition of their souls.

ย . . . when sin in the church is pushed under the carpet.

ย . . . when known sin is not dealt with through the biblical
ย ย ย ย ย  process of discipline and restoration.

ย . . . when we tolerate “little” sins of gossip,
ย ย ย ย ย  a critical spirit, and lack of love.

ย . . . when we will watch things on television and movies that are not holy.

ย . . . when our singing is half-hearted and our worship lifeless.

ย . . . when our prayers are empty words designed to impress others.

ย . . . when our prayers lack fervency.

ย . . . when our hearts are cold and our eyes are dry.

ย . . . when we arenโ€™t seeing regular evidence of
ย ย ย ย ย  the supernatural power of God.

ย . . . when we have ceased to weep and mourn and
ย ย ย ย ย ย  grieve over our own sin and the sin of others.

ย . . . when we are content to live with explainable,
ย ย ย ย ย  ordinary Christianity and church services.

ย . . . when we are bored with worship.

ย . . . when people have to be entertained to be drawn to church.

ย . . . when our music and dress become patterned after the world.

ย . . . when we start fitting into and adapting to the world,
ย ย ย ย ย  rather than calling the world to adapt to Godโ€™s
ย ย ย ย ย  standards of holiness.

ย . . . when we donโ€™t long for the company and fellowship of Godโ€™s people.

ย . . . when people have to be begged to give and to serve in the church.

ย . . . when our giving is measured and calculated,
ย ย ย ย ย  rather than extravagant and sacrificial.

ย . . . when we arenโ€™t seeing lost people drawn to Jesus on a regular basis.

ย . . . when we arenโ€™t exercising faith and believing God for the impossible.

ย . . . when we are more concerned about what others
ย ย ย ย ย  think about us than what God thinks about us.

ย . . . when we are unmoved by the thought of neighbors,
ย ย ย ย ย  business associates, and acquaintances who are
ย ย ย ย ย  lost and without Christ.

ย . . . when the lost world around us doesnโ€™t know or care that we exist.

ย . . . when we are making little or no difference in the secular world around us.

ย . . . when the fire has gone out in our hearts, our marriages, and the church.

ย . . . when we are blind to the extent of our need and donโ€™t think we need revival.

โœž Music “Starts With Me” by Tim Timmons

“Starts With Me”

What could I do to leave a legacy?
How can I speak with authority
When I can’t see You, I can’t see You
How can I know the dreams You have for me?
How can I believe beyond what I have seen?
When I can’t hear You, I can’t feel You now
No, no, no

[Chorus:]
You’re my revival song, You start where I belong
On my knees, on my knees
When I am weak or strong You meet me here
When I’m on my knees, on my knees
Oh, it starts with me

Why do I try to work outside of You?
Knocking down doors I should be going through
But I’m so tired, I’m so tired
You take my burdens off of my shoulders
You break the lies that hold me back
I’m not sure enough

I really wanna change the world
I really wanna sing Your song
But I know revival’s got to start with me
I really wanna change the world
I really wanna sing Your song
But I know revival’s got to start with me
