After we have lived this life that we continually choose to make, in spite of so much good advice

After all those choices, given in love – have been snatched by broken hands and thrown in Wisdom’s face – and Wisdom, being what She Is, turned them around and used them for our good

After pride and envy and greed and every other destructive thing have finally shown themselves for what they really are

After the last hiding place of every evil motive has been revealed by the acts of all the players in this game of life and death

After lies told have travelled far enough to reach the place from where they first were born

After we have journeyed through arid deserts and scorched our feet on the smoking shards of every broken promise

After we have paid the price – the debts of those we never knew…

During darkness, there is light
During weakness, there is might

During suffering, there is peace
During anger, there is release

During worry, there is thought
During sorrow, change is wrought

During destruction, there is building
During breaking, there is moulding

During chaos, there is meaning
During tears, there is weaning

During despair, there is yearning
During error, there is learning

During poverty, there is wealth
During sickness, we find health

During disaster, there is always hope
During all things, with Him we will cope

During this world, He looks down from above
During all our mistakes, there is God and God is Love

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that naturalism and evolution had created. “What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!”, he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind.

You argue about the future

You talk like he has life outside you, when it is both of you who are in control

The future has room for everyone but he must be instructed through me

The future doesn’t hate
The future loves, he has always loved me
He knows me, knows my heart

Everyday he invents new ways to play it for me
He has always been my friend since before I can remember
Constantly he meets me, bringing new joy
When I wake, I see him again each day

I look at him with ease

Once the future had been my friend
He had promised me many things
But that changed long ago
Now he hates me
Day by day he eats my life and leaves me empty
I did nothing, it was he that moved
Moved from a friend to an enemy
An enemy bent on revenge
If only I knew what I had done

Then I could apologise
I would make things new
We could be meeting again every day, with joy

Now, I can’t look at him
My face is always to the floor

We live in a world of many options
We have minds full of thoughts and many different notions
Dreaming of future vocations, making relations
Living life to the max and retiring with a pension

But what does life consist of; what’s your true perception
How about a nice house and 2 or 3 vacations
Buy a car, play golf, work hard and earn some cash
That’s fine; but tell me, have you ever eaten someone’s trash

In this time, countless people live in degradation
No clothes, no shoes, no food, lacking life vital medication
Let alone a car or house or any education
And all the while the wealthy struck by self-fixation

It’s good to work hard and have some life
You can’t put that down, A man can have a wife
And a family and live, but evil in this world is rife
Just maybe, more of our hearts…

Can you explain pain
Physical and mental bane
Unwanted guest in man’s domain
Giving eye-strain to the humane and the inhumane

Why engrain us with this ball and chain
Hurt’s ad campaign, unfriendly heavy-weather vane
Is there a reason I walk with a cane
Or does the pain in my world fall in vain

What’s the game; restrain my reign
Retrain the human brain with acid rain
It’s driving me insane; top of the food chain
Yet pain has free-rein on my mental plane

I don’t aim to profane the things beyond my brain
Just want to feel sane; I’m a link in a chain
Where many have it sweet like sugar cane
And many others have to slash their feet on sharp terrain

Not an oil stain but a language that contains

Greed, a false friend that lies at high speed
You concede, mount the steed
Then, the more you get, the more you need
What you have will never exceed the feeling, guaranteed

Once you proceed to cross-breed with that fallen seed
Wisdom’s gone, She’d spoken but you disagreed
You ran full speed, not paying heed
Watch the sweat bead as you smoke the devil’s weed

Greed, made to mislead our breed, impede life, no misread
Men force-feed geese while tiny babies die in need
Who agreed to spoon-feed lies while love recedes
We need to plead with God to be found and freed

We’d better reread the creed and stop this stampede
This greed is deadly, we’ve been played like piano keys
Teed up like Sam Snead, we spend trillions but can’t meet the basic need
Of billions of people, some succeed but many sift through bins to feed

Nemesis of fun, cork in the blow-hole
Call of the loser, so we fit the mould
Set the world to cruise control and let the good times roll

Who slipped in; breached border control
Which fallen beings broke parole

But your heart became a black-hole, like charcoal

It’s time to be fussed and lose distrust

Humility, a silent and unseen virility
Most valuable and rarest commodity
Not boastful or proud
Not carefully displaying ability

Where is it, this core spirituality
Can you trace the chain of causality
From it’s absence
To the fall of humanity

We have descended in our totality
To a place of deep insecurity
Not for lack of power
But lack of emotional quality

We have built a world of fragility
Missing a base of stability
We have built on sand
But rock brings rigidity

So, let’s take hold of invisibility
Develop the peaceful agility
Say we’ve been wrong
