Tell me, how can men made from dust be filled with lust
That worldly must: it can’t be hushed
That secret gust of wanton thrust
Presented as gold-dust but no more that rust

We have rushed to adjust to all this fuss
We have huffed and puffed
been bussed in to place of disgust
And now our hands are cuffed

Our souls have been stuffed,
We see stardust in the unjust
Our hearts are black as coal dust
Morals crushed, we’re ready to self combust

Where’s the change, evil must be flushed
When’s the drug-bust
Let’s move to Truth and trust
Before the last one bites the dust

I’m sick of mistrust and people being cussed,
It’s time to be fussed and lose distrust
There’s a rock who is robust
There’s only One Who’s just

Humility, a silent and unseen virility
Most valuable and rarest commodity
Not boastful or proud
Not carefully displaying ability

Where is it, this core spirituality
Can you trace the chain of causality
From it’s absence
To the fall of humanity

We have descended in our totality
To a place of deep insecurity
Not for lack of power
But lack of emotional quality

We have built a world of fragility
Missing a base of stability
We have built on sand
But rock brings rigidity

So, let’s take hold of invisibility
Develop the peaceful agility
Say we’ve been wrong
This is the work of humility

Pride, a deceiving ride,
Going to my friends, I lost my way,
But I couldn’t ask for directions,
So I roamed about all day.

When I finally arrived,
I was tired, I argued and shouted,
But I couldn’t say sorry,
I just stood there and pouted.

So then I went home,
I was well in the wrong,
But I didn’t admit it,
I just carried on.

Months went by,
I didn’t call my friend,
I was sad, but I thought of other things,
You can always pretend.

This happened to me a lot,
I didn’t know pride then,
But it knew me,
It became my only friend.

Now I see it, with my hindsight,
An invisible power,
It separated me from other people,
It turned me sour.

So, here’s my advice to you,
Unseen things can death bring,
They’re crouching at your door,
Don’t let them in.

NaPoWriMo Day 7 prompt is to write a poem in which each line except the last takes the form of a single, declarative sentence. Then, the final line should take the form of a question.

Your Choice

In an incredible place we exist.
In evil we persist.
In our right to life we insist.
Our crime against life is the longest list.

Now, in evil the world is gripped.
From the good life we have slipped.
Our morals have been shipped.
We need to be re-equipped.

We must seek to improve behaviour.
The outlook couldn’t be graver.
In life we must be braver.
We clearly need a saviour.

Many people doubt it.
And, many people shout it.
Various people tout it.
Too many do nothing about it.

We must stop to brawl.
The people must stand tall.
Jesus wants us all.
Will you answer the call?

Have you ever wished you’d stopped talking about five minutes before you  actually did?

Because I’ve been there myself, I want to help protect you from saying potentially  embarrassing or hurtful things. And I’ve prepared a list of six warning signs to  let you know when it’s time to stop  talking.

Sign 1: You’re Complaining,  Not Explaining

There’s a subtle difference. Explaining is simply telling someone about  your situation. Complaining is when you have an attitude that says “I’m being  inconvenienced.” (See Philippians 2:14-15.)

There will be times when keeping quiet in order to avoid complaining  seems so hard you almost can’t stand it. But God will always give you the grace  to do it. And if we ever want to arrive at our Promised Land, we need to stop  complaining about the way God’s getting us there.

Sign 2: You’re Criticizing  Somebody

Picture this. Someone says…

Grace is the preface to the eternal resting-place of the human-race
The place where you change pace
Leave the rat-race and rainbow-chase
Enter that God given, God powered space
Take your birthplace and warm your pale-face

Grace is the type-face of God’s MySpace
The product of His marketplace
The sound of His double-base
Playing notes in Heaven’s showplace
Given airspace, everyplace by Him through time-and-space

Grace is the interface between us and God through Jesus Christ’s Embrace
The love-lace that ties us to Him and shows His face
That gives head-space to people from everyplace
The remedy that clears disgrace in every case
It’s the love of God for His people and the name of His workplace

Grace is the very one-horse-race in the divine People-chase
Where God will always outpace and deface
The bare-face lies in sub-space
And retrace the crawlspace of the human-case
And show that the truth…

What is a man?
Someone who searches for hope, or someone without a plan?
Who meets the cost?
Someone who asks to be found, or someone who never found out he was lost?
Who makes it through?
Someone who can laugh at himself, or someone whos fear rules his view?
Who gets direction?
Someone who opens the door, or someone who avoids the question?
Who takes the chance?
Someone who wants to be free, or someone who’s lost in a world induced trance?
One last thing…..
Can you look at life and see God, or do you look at everything and see nothing?
