The Peace Of God

Verse Logo

Philippians 4:6-7Β (VOICE)

Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come. And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.

In Perfect Sync With God’s Spirit

Verse Logo

Galatians 5:13-26Β (VOICE)

Brothers and sisters, God has called you to freedom! Hear the call, and do not spoil this gift by using your liberty to engage in what your flesh desires; instead, use it to serve each other as Jesus taught through love. For the whole law comes down to this one instruction: β€œLove your neighbor as yourself,” so why all this vicious gnawing on each other? If you are not careful, you will find you’ve eaten each other alive!

Here’s my instruction: walk in the Spirit, and let the Spirit bring order to your life. If you do, you will never give in to your selfish and sinful cravings. For everything the flesh desires goes against the Spirit, and everything the Spirit desires goes against the flesh. There is a constant battle raging between them that prevents you from doing the good you want to do. But when you are led by the Spirit, you are no longer subject to the law.

It’s clear that our flesh entices us into practicing some of its most heinous acts: participating in corrupt sexual relationships, impurity, unbridled lust, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, arguing, jealousy, anger, selfishness, contentiousness, division, envy of others’ good fortune, drunkenness, drunken revelry, and other shameful vices that plague humankind. I told you this clearly before, and I only tell you again so there is no room for confusion: those who give in to these ways will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul has been preaching about the call of God to freedom, and so he now spells it out: we are done with the demands of the law; now we are free to live in the Spirit and to be truly right with God. As free people, the Spirit gives us the characteristics of Jesus; we, too, can freely love in joy and peace. We can have patience along with kindness and faithfulness that can only come from the Father. We can reflect the goodness of God while being gentle in operating with self-control. For those who follow Him and live in the Spirit, these characteristics or fruits are a gift from God. As we grow in the faith, we find that we belong to God and can walk daily in the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this. Those of us who belong to the Anointed One have crucified our old lives and put to death the flesh and all the lusts and desires that plague us.

Now since we have chosen to walk with the Spirit, let’s keep each step in perfect sync with God’s Spirit. This will happen when we set aside our self-interests and work together to create true community instead of a culture consumed by provocation, pride, and envy.

Prayer For Unity

Prayer Logo

Lord Jesus we prayed that your people would be one, forgive us Lord and take away the pride and arrogance which divides your church. Break down the walls that separate us; unite us by your spirit ant teach us how to love each other.

Help us to humbly kneel before you and surrender all, Please guide us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds as we seek to find your good and pleasing will, Amen.

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

The church I attend on sunday mornings has been without a pastor for well over a year now, so I post this prayer to try and help the body of believers unite and stay faithful to our awesome God.

I’d also love prayers from all of my amazing sisters and brothers here for this church as we seek to find a spirit filled, mature and wise pastor.

Ask God For It!

Verse Logo

James 1:2-11Β (VOICE)
Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish lineβ€”mature, complete, and wanting nothing. If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.

Wisdom, as James understands it, is the ability to live life well and make good decisions. Wisdom doesn’t come from old age or hard knocks. Wisdom begins with knowing and depending absolutely on God, who is never stingy when it comes to wisdom for those who seek it. He supplies all the wisdom we need when we ask. But when we try to go it aloneβ€”without Godβ€”trouble is around the corner.

The key is that your request be anchored by your single-minded commitment to God. Those who depend only on their own judgment are like those lost on the seas, carried away by any wave or picked up by any wind. Those adrift on their own wisdom shouldn’t assume the Lord will rescue them or bring them anything. The splinter of divided loyalty shatters your compass and leaves you dizzy and confused.

God’s Love Is Greater Than Our Doubts

Verse Logo

1 John 3:2-3Β (VOICE)

My loved ones, we have been adopted into God’s family; and we are officially His children now. The full picture of our destiny is not yet clear, but we know this much: when Jesus appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is. All those who focus their hopes on Him and His coming seek to purify themselves just as He is pure.

When we feel like we are not good enough to be loved by God, we should remember that God’s love is greater than our doubts. We must silence the sounds of condemnation so we can hear the voice of God’s loving assurance and remember that He has selected us to be part of His family.

Become The Right Person!

Quote 4 2day title logo Blog

The first command in Ephesians 5 tells us to be imitators of God by reflecting the way he loves us. Our love for others flows out of our sense of being deeply loved. Instead of constantly looking for the right person, God tells us to become the right person. Instead of looking for love, God tells us to realise that love has already found us! God loves as no one else ever can.

Putting Us In The Fire

Quote 4 2day title logo Blog

No words can express how much the world owes to sorrow. Most of the Psalms were born in the wilderness. Most of the Epistles were written in prison. The greatest thoughts of the greatest thinkers have all passed through the first. The greatest poets have β€œlearned in suffering what they taught in song.” In bonds, Bunyan lived the allegory that he afterwards wrote, and we may thank Bedford Jail for the Pilgrim’s Progress. Take comfort, afflicted Christian! When God is about to make pre-eminent use of a person, He puts them in the fire.

He’s Building A Palace

Quote 4 2day title logo Blog

β€œImagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”

Praise God

Prayer 4 2day wireless logo

My Thoughts πŸ’Β

Last night at our evening meeting, Ruth (one of our ministers) led us in an hour of praise and prayer to God. Ruth started with the prayer below and Sarah and I played 8 songs, and in-between the songs Ruth would say a prayer or a reflection which flowed beautifully for the whole hour.

It was deeply moving and I wanted to just share with you this opening prayer.

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

Praise God for: mountains and oceans, planets and stars
Praise God for big things
Praise God for: seeds and spiders, petals and drops of dew
Praise God for small things
Praise God for: rolling thunder and the crashing waves
Praise God for loud things
Praise God for: a breath of wind and a whispered prayer
Praise God for quiet things
Praise God for: soaring eagles and hairy gorillas
Praise God for strong things
Praise God for: snowflakes and cobwebs – a tiny baby
Praise God for fragile things
Praise God for: the flash of lightening and a humming bird’s wings
Praise God for fast things
Praise God for: the growth of a tree and the erosion of cliffs
Praise God for slow things
Praise God for: the moon, the sun, other worlds
Praise God for far away things
Praise God for: the person sitting next to me, my own heartbeat
Praise God for close-by things

Thank you that though you are so big,
you become small enough to meet us here on earth
though you are so strong, you show your love in gentleness
though you are loud as thunder, you speak to us in the sound of silence.
Thank you that though you could be faster than the speed of light
You choose to walk at our pace and to hold our hand.

Amen

God Is The Strength!

Verse 4 2day logo blog

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:23-26

God Took Me In

Verse 4 2day logo blog

Psalm 27:9-10

The Message (MSG)
You’ve always been right there for me;
don’t turn your back on me now.
Don’t throw me out, don’t abandon me;
you’ve always kept the door open.
My father and mother walked out and left me,
but God took me in.

Psalm 27:10
New International Version (NIV)
Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.

Is God Pleased With Your Worship?

Verse 4 2day logo blog

Β Isaiah 1:11-17 ~ Bible Gateway

The Message (MSG)Β

11-12Β β€œWhy this frenzy of sacrifices?”
Β Β Β Β God’sΒ asking.
β€œDon’t you think I’ve had my fill of burnt sacrifices,
Β Β Β Β rams and plump grain-fed calves?
Don’t you think I’ve had my fill
Β Β Β Β of blood from bulls, lambs, and goats?
When you come before me,
Β Β Β Β whoever gave you the idea of acting like this,
Running here and there, doing this and thatβ€”
Β Β Β Β all this sheerΒ commotionΒ in the place provided for worship?

13-17Β β€œQuit your worship charades.
Β Β Β Β I can’t stand your trivial religious games:
Monthly conferences, weekly Sabbaths, special meetingsβ€”
Β Β Β Β meetings, meetings, meetingsβ€”I can’t stand one more!
Meetings for this, meetings for that. I hate them!
Β Β Β Β You’ve worn me out!
I’m sick of your religion, religion, religion,
Β Β Β Β while you go right on sinning.
When you put on your next prayer-performance,
Β Β Β Β I’ll be looking the other way.
No matter how long or loud or often you pray,
Β Β Β Β I’ll not be listening.
And do you know why? Because you’ve been tearing
Β Β Β Β people to pieces, and your hands are bloody.
Go home and wash up.
Β Β Β Β Clean up your act.
Sweep your lives clean of your evildoings
Β Β Β Β so I don’t have to look at them any longer.
Say no to wrong.
Β Β Β Β Learn to do good.
Work for justice.
Β Β Β Β Help the down-and-out.
Stand up for the homeless.
Β Β Β Β Go to bat for the defenceless.

Don’t Move Ahead Of God

πŸ’¬ Quote 4 2dayΒ

When things aren’t working out as you wish, be patient. Stop trying to move ahead of God. His timing is perfect. Trust Him.

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2dayΒ

Father,Β I have been waiting for so long now, and I come before You today to ask your help. I pray that You will increase my faith and patience so that I will put my whole trust in your perfect timing and plan for my life.Β I will put my complete trust in You with confidence and eager expectation of Your answer, whatever that answer may be and whenever that answer may come.

Thanks for being always with me.

Thanks that You hear my prayers and will answer in Your time and in Your way.Β

Thanks for Your unfailing word and that You always keep Your promises.

I believe with my heart, mind and soul Your plan for my life is the best one possible and I thank You for Your answer.Β Being in Your will is the safest place I can ever reside.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank You All!

I was checking my notifications this morning and I was stunned to have found this badge. When I started this blog I had no idea of what the Lord had in store for me, only that he wanted me to share my story on here. I have no writing experience (as you may have guessed by now) and I’m a listener, not a talker so words don’t come easy for me.

Reading all of your comments of love and encouragement, and being able to learn so much through your personal testimonies, truly wise teachings, amazing photography and building friends through fellowship I feel deeply touched!

What I am trying to say is… THANK YOU ALL!Β

I hope I can continue to be a small blessing or inspiration to you! God bless you all!

Goodbye World

Goodbye world, at last
Your days, although many, are numbered
You will be left in the past
A new future is coming, unencumbered

Don’t get me wrong world
I know you are me and my kind
I just want you unfurled
In a new way, I want a new mind

I have been promised
That everything will change
That the serpent that hissed
Will soon be far out of range

While I am here still
Living with you, as you
I will keep changing until
These times are through

So I wont say anymore about how
You will be taken from me
I will just say goodbye now
For I don’t when that time will be

Renew my mind

Β

πŸ“– Verse 4 2day!Β

Romans 12:2Β (NIV)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will isβ€”his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I also like this translation…

Romans 12:2Β (MSG)12

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary lifeβ€”your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around lifeβ€”and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Β

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

“Father, I don’t want to be conformed to the Taoist thinking of the world. Renew my mind, help me to stop polluting it with the things the world would like me to see and hear. Transform me according to what is true about my true identity and my new self. Amen.”

Safety

I ran away from safety because it was tasteless
My life was craving some more exotic flavour
Because of my attractions I drove a million miles to meet my desire
But when I got there it destroyed me, it tore me to pieces

Now I am broken, shattered. The things I loved hated me
Who can understand, who can make sense of this mess
How could the world be such a liar
How could I have been so stupid

I opened my eyes and looked around me, I found I was not alone
There were so many people littering the streets of this broken place
Then some quiet noise turned my head and I scanned the horizon
I saw a kind of light far in the distance, it seemed vaguely familiar but unknown

Now I have walked these streets, how I longed for the old way, whatever it was
Still I could sense that light, it seemed to be moving
If only I could go back, If someone could take me
I then I thought about that light, could that light be safety?

Perfection

What is perfection?
This thing that we mention
This mode that we talk of
This ancient convention

It sits in our minds and assesses our actions
It looks at what’s out there and causes reactions
We want it, we crave it
Yet our senses are marred, can we trust our perceptions?

What is it……..?
Something exquisite
Or something of myth
That we never will visit

Or Maybe a path you can follow – a worthy direction
Or choices you make through some careful selection
Or is it chance
The hope of some future election

Or are they all aspects of this purest condition
This mindset beyond a pure human rendition
But something above us
The state that explains the creator’s decision

Something outside us but in us in seed
Something in flowers as well as in weeds
Something in process
The nature of the only one worthy to bleed

Love Story

Β

Is love the story that underlines our life?
A story of husband and wife
But also of surgeon and knife

A story of cursed ground
Of people lost and found
Of little silence and too much sound

A story of shared and broken creation
Of relation against relation
And nation v nation

A story of confusion
Of many lies and evils intrusion
A story of pain – what’s your conclusion?

Does this story have a turn?
A Saviour who came to burn?
A Saviour who lives, dies, lives – and returns…?

So what about you?
Is this a story that’s true?
A story about your eternal life – your view….?

The Dynamic Force

What is Church?

People have various views on what the Church is but how many people have really grasped the full, world breaking extent of this divine institution?

Our idea of Church is so ingrained in us through years of mis-experience that the truth of Gods plan is buried beneath countless piles of confused Christians. To most people ‘Church’ says Sundays, Services, Buildings, Songs, and plenty of other things that tradition keeps alive, and that are not intrinsically bad but by the same token can meaning absolutely nothing.

The reality is that the scope of Gods plan for people has no limits, aside from those outlined by the things that destroy us; We can do whatever we want, as long as it’s good. Yet for years humanity has dedicated itself to doing exactly those things that break us and now we find ourselves in the unenviable position of wanting to escape the damage but having no idea how.

So, where does the Church fit in?

I am sure that, if the Church had always done what it was supposed to do then we would know exactly where it fits in and see that it is actually the perfect answer to that most important, totally non-religious question: ‘just how do we get ourselves out of this mess?’.

However….

The Church has misbehaved for so long that not even the Christians know what it should look like.

So….

It’s time we listened to God. It’s time the Church became a DYNAMIC FORCE that fills every area of life. A force that can change and mould itself to deal with any situation, powered by the Spirit Himself and defined by the humility and unquenchable forgiveness of all it’s members. The Church is everything or it should be and was designed by God so that, through Jesus we could learn the truth about life and choose it – rejecting all evil.

The biggest question……?

What is holding us back, because it’s not God.

And our point……?

This is what we are trying be in this one tiny corner of Gods plan: That DYNAMIC FORCE that WILL change everything. Let’s make it happen.

Dear Father

πŸ™ Prayer 4 2day!Β

“Dear Father, I want to commit my way — my heart, my life, my future, my abilities, my wealth, my family… — to you. I want to be used by you for your glory. I trust that you love me and long to give me your blessing along with your grace and salvation. I love you and thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
