You must be born again!

You must be born again!

(Don Fortner)

“You must be born again!” John 3:7

In order for God to save a sinner two things must be done:ย
God must do something FOR you, and God must do something IN you.

ย  Redemptionย is the work of God FOR sinners.ย

ย  Regenerationย is the work of God IN sinners.ย

Both are the works of God. Man has nothing more to do with regeneration, than he has to do with redemption.

“You must be born again” because by nature we are fallen, sinful, depraved children of human flesh. All flesh is defiled. All flesh is corrupt. All flesh is sinful. All flesh is condemned. All flesh must die. Unless we are born of the Spirit, we will die in our sins, and our fleshย  shall be justly damned.

“You must be born again!”ย
You can reform your life without the new birth.ย
You can be baptized without the new birth.ย
You can join the church, be zealous in religion, teach a Bible class, serve as a deacon or elder; you can even preach with great success without being born again.ย

“You must be born again” for without the new birth . . .
ย  you will never enter the kingdom of God,ย
ย  you will never be a part of the family of God,ย
ย  you will never have eternal life,ย
ย  you will never be admitted into the presence of God’s glory in the bliss of Heaven.ย
Only new creatures will enter the New Jerusalem.ย
Only holy men will walk into the Holy City.ย
Only Heaven born citizens will possess the bliss of Heaven.

To be born again is to be made new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).ย
In the new birth, God the Holy Spirit gives chosen, redeemed sinners . . .
ย  a newย heartย to love God,
ย  a newย willย to bow to the rule of Christ,
ย  a newย mindย to understand the things of God,
ย  a new spiritualย natureย to know, enjoy, and live upon spiritual things,
ย  newย eyes, eyes of faith, with which to see Christ,
ย  newย earsย with which to hear His voice,
ย  newย hands, hands of faith, with which to lay hold of Christ and do His will,
ย  newย feet, with which to flee to Christ and walk with Him in the newness of life.

John 3:3, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again!”ย

Never let us read any portion of God’s Word without looking up for divine teaching!

Never let us read any portion of God’s Word without looking up for divine teaching!

(James Smith, “The Evening Sacrifice; Or, A Help to Devotion” 1859)

“Open my eyes–that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.” Psalm 119:18

God’s Book is a book of wonders! It is a wonderful record . . .

of God’s power in creation,
of His wisdom in providence,
and of His grace in redemption.

It has the stamp of infinity upon it. We cannot penetrate its heights, fathom its depths, or traverse its lengths and breadths–but as we are taught of God. The Holy Spirit, who composed it and inspired holy men to write it, must unfold and reveal it to our minds–or we shall never . . .

see its glory,
be impressed with its majesty,
or rejoice in its divine truths.

Never let us read any portion of God’s Word without looking up for divine teaching. Never let us imagine that we know all that is contained in any one verse of God’s blessed Book–for there is a fullness in the holy Scriptures not to be found anywhere else.

Oh, ever blessed Spirit of God, who has given us Your holy Word to . . .

instruct our intellects,
sanctify our hearts, and
regulate our lives–we beseech You to . . .
enlighten our minds to understand it,
open our hearts to receive it,
give us faith to believe it, and
enable us to reduce it to practice in our every-day life!

O may we be given grace . . .

understand the sublime doctrines,
believe the precious promises, and
practice the holy precepts of Your blessed Word!

Lord, unveil to us the types, unfold to us the prophecies–and apply to our hearts, the consolatory portions of the sacred Scriptures. May we hide the Word in our hearts, that we may not sin against You. O to catch the meaning, taste the sweetness, and feel the power–of Your holy truth! O Lord, open our eyes, and unfold the truth to us this night! O Lord, soften our hearts, and bring home Your Word with power!

“Then He opened their understanding–that they might understand the Scriptures.” Luke 24:45

“Behold, God is exalted in His power! Who is a teacher like Him?” Job 36:22

Worse Than Devilish!

Worse than devilish!

(Ralph Venning, “The Plague of Plagues!” 1669)

“Fools mock at sin!” Proverbs 14:9ย

Those who mock at sin, are worse than fools and madmen!

Tell them, as Lot told his sons-in-law of the danger and judgments which hang over their head–and, as with Lot, you seem to them as one who jokes. Genesis 19:14. They laugh at it, as if God were not in earnest when He threatens sinners–and as if those who preach against sin were deranged.ย

“To do evil, is like sport to a fool!” Proverbs 10:23.

There are some who sport themselves on their way to Hell–as if sin were but a recreation! What fools are they–who laugh at their own folly and destruction! It is a devilish nature in us, to mock at the calamity of others–but to laugh at our own calamity, seems to be worse than devilish!

There are many, too many, who mourn under affliction–yet laugh over their sins! They sigh and weep when they feel any burden on their body–but make merry at that which destroys their soul! Can anything be more mad than this–to laugh, mock and make sport at that which eternally wrongs and damns their own souls!

The wicked laugh over their sin now. But if they do not repent–then they will weep forever in Hell over it!

Mysterious Power

โ€œThe gospel is preached in the ears of all men; it only comes with power to some. The power that is in the gospel does not lie in the eloquence of the preacher otherwise men would be converters of souls. Nor does it lie in the preacherโ€™s learning; otherwise it could consists of the wisdom of men. We might preach till our tongues rotted, till we should exhaust our lungs and die, but never a soul would be converted unless there were mysterious power going with it โ€“ the Holy Ghost changing the will of man. O Sirs! We might as well preach to stone walls as preach to humanity unless the Holy Ghost be with the word, to give it power to convert the soul.โ€

Christmas Logo

Jesus, please help me this Christmas, as i remember you asย the baby in a manger. Not to see you as just a pleasant picture that conjures up nostalgic and happy thoughts for me. But to be the picture of the incredible news that was proclaimed by the angels to the shepherds…

Thank you so much for making this unfathomable Good news, thatย “Christ the Saviour was born!โ€ and you made it possible for someone like me to be born again. You were as much the Saviour of the world in that manger as you were on that cross.

Thank you for loving me so much, that youโ€™d purposely lay your glory aside to enter your own creation, to save someone like me from my sins, and the punishment of those sins, providing the way of escape from death itself!

Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Blind Photographer – Steve Rebus {Worshipping through his art, his music, and his writings.}

Me playing my Dean Razorback Rust USA

Meet Steve Rebus. You can read on his website how he breaks the ice about who he is: Blind Photographer. ย But we’ve gotten to know Steve as so much more than that – although he is a fabulous photographer! He is a writer, a musician, and most importantly he is a follower of Christ. In every sense, he seeks to be like and love like Jesus. WHAT A POWERFUL testimony he has!

ย ย 7Cubed: Hi Steve. Tell us about your life, your music, and your photography.ย

Steve: Two Souls Entwineโ€ฆ..ย

Me Sarah in Church

Iโ€˜ve been married to Sarah for nearly six years now and Iโ€™m really struggling to put how I feel into words! My heart overflows with love for her. She has encouraged, inspired and loved me and is the sunshine that warms me along my journey. ย

My love of musicโ€ฆ.

Since being registered blind Iโ€™ve learned to play the drums and guitar. This is amazing in itself but being able to play alongside Sarah every Sunday to assist myself and others in worship is just mind blowing. I play in two churches โ€“ drumming in the morning and playing guitar in the evening and I feel so blessed to be able to come before God and thank him with the gifts heโ€™s given me. Gifts that give me great joy too!

Blind Photographer??ย

โ€œYou donโ€™t need sight to see, you need visionโ€œย

โ€œI strongly believe that Disability doesnโ€™t have to mean inability or lack of creative talent!โ€ย

I used to enjoy photography when I was sighted, taking and developing photos in my dadโ€™s darkroom, When I lost most my sight 13 years ago I thought this would put a stop to my hobby, but I have learned that my camera can act as my eyes allowing me to see what my own eyes will not.ย I am proud of the fact that I have been able to produce photographs despite my visual impairmentโ€“ and like to think that although I may have lost my useful sight I have not lost my vision and instinct for a good photograph. (see Blind Photographer).

7Cubed: In what ways has life changed for you and your relationship with God because of your blindness?ย

Steve: When I was fully sighted I never had a relationship with God, nor was ever taught about him. We didnโ€™t go to church and he was never part of my life.ย In my early twenties I was really into body building, football, driving, and night clubbing. I judged people on looks alone; if they didnโ€™t look fit, they were nothing! My fuel was pride and vanity.ย Since I have been blind and the eyes of my heart have been forced open by God’s amazing grace Iโ€™ve found my identity in Him, and as He is continually transforming me into the person He knew I could be. I simply just love people without any preconceptions of what the world thinks is beautiful.

7Cubed: Obviously, God blesses your music, your writing, and your photography! They are all wonderful. At what point in your life did you really understand that Christ wanted to work through your adverse situations?

Me playing my Taylor Macasser Ebony

Steve: I think it was when I wrote my testimony at the beginning of this year when God started to show me what he can do through me. I posted it onto iChristian and my blog seemed to explode with blessings. I realised that my little story can actually help connect, encourage, and inspire people on a few different levels, and I will share His good news for the rest of my life.ย

7Cubed: We’ve seen some cool pictures of you playing your guitar! Do you play any other instruments? When did you first learn how to play your instruments?ย

Steve: Yes, I also play the drums. I first started playing 13 years ago when a teacher at the college I reluctantly attended (as it was only a few months after Iโ€™d lost my sight and I was in a real dark place) asked me, โ€œSteve, is there anything you would like to learn?โ€ I said I would like to play the drums, so she found a local drum shop called โ€œRattle & Drumโ€ that also had teaching rooms upstairs and thatโ€™s where I started my lessons. Dave, my drum teacher, was fantastic and worked around my struggles, and playing the drums to my favourite songs quickly became my therapy and still helps to this day.ย

I didnโ€™t start playing guitar until 2005 when I had met Sarah and had to sell my drum kit to be able to move into her flat. As Iโ€™ve been a Metal fan for most of my life, Iโ€™ve always played the air guitar, but never really tried to play a real one.ย Harry, my fantastic guitar teacher, recorded our lessons with my video camera so I could sit for hours with my guitar in front of my huge TV to try and figure out what finger went where. As I canโ€™t see to read sheet music or guitar tabs, I have to play from memory.ย I now have quite a few beautiful guitars that I love playing, and Iโ€™m truly blessed to be able to play my chords for the Lord on such amazing instruments.ย ย

7Cubed: You take some awesome photographs! What kind of camera do you use? Do you have any specialized equipment that assists you when taking these amazing photos?ย ย

Steve: I have bought 5 cameras over the 8 years of digital photography. I have 2 DSLR cameras. My main camera is a Nikon D2Xs and my second is a SONY Alpha a100. I also use a Canon Powershot SX40 HS which is a bridge camera, and my compact camera is a Samsung WB550. Oh and my iPhone!ย As you can imagine there is not much in the way of assistive technology for blind photographers as it’s not something that many would think of. The only piece of adapted tech is a 2x magnifier that is screwed onto the Nikon’s viewfinder, which doesnโ€™t help me at all, but I canโ€™t get it off! lolย Having said that, my iPhone is the only camera thatโ€™s accessible for me. It speaks to me when it has focused, and when I take a portrait it will tell me where the face is on the screen and if its a big face or a small face so I can get the right distance. This feature is fantastic and also standard on the iPhone, and Iโ€™d love to see this software on other cameras!ย ย

7Cubed: What advice and encouragement would you give to others who have been through a similar situation?ย
Steve Koa 1

Steve: If there is someone reading this who is experiencing the creeping death called depression, then Iโ€™d just like to give them hope. The hope that although you may feel that no one cares and that thereโ€™s nothing to live for anymore, thereโ€™s no pit too deep that God wonโ€™t reach down and lift you out of. He wants a living relationship with you starting right now!ย He loves you no matter what youโ€™ve done, no matter where youโ€™ve been; He loves you completely and he wants to bless your life and bring you that peace inside that you’re craving for.ย

ย 7Cubed: How did you became a Believer and Follower of Jesus?ย

Steve: I hope you donโ€™t mind but Iโ€™ve answered this question using the text from my iChristian blog.ย

Broken, Psalm 116:3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow.ย

Another day, another attempt! โ€ฆ. Oct โ€“ Nov 2000

ย I kneel down in the centre of my living room. Tears stain the blade I hold to my chest. โ€œCome on Steve, donโ€™t fail again! All you need to do is throw yourself forwards and thats it!โ€ย Iโ€™d been doing this every morning for the last couple of months and still I waited, willing myself to do it. Then nudgeโ€ฆnudge.. my three month old Boxer dog โ€œBruceโ€ pushed against my leg with his nose. His whimpering cries pierced my very soul. โ€œHe relied on me for everything and I had no idea I would be relying on a furry angel to help me through this dark period in my life.โ€ย

After three months of failed attempts I felt more useless than ever โ€ฆ. I couldnโ€™t even manage the task of killing myself. I realised I didnโ€™t even have the strength to do this properly. I just didnโ€™t know how I could get lower than this!!! – Iโ€™d been registered blind at 25, after loosing my sight quite suddenly. in the same month my mum finally died after a 12 year debilitating and demoralizing struggle with progressive MS. Missing her added misery to my own struggle to come to terms with the isolation and insecurities of managing life with sight loss โ€“ Iโ€™d lost my job, my custom car, the ability to drive, my girlfriend and nearly all of my so called friends!ย

My answerโ€ฆ.ย

To throw myself into binge drinking, womanising, dark depression, and raw anger. I felt that this was what I had to look forwards to for the rest of my life.ย

Then I met Sarahโ€ฆโ€ฆ July 2004ย

She wasnโ€™t like the other girls Iโ€™d met. Sarah too had suffered sight loss and depression because of her uncontrollable diabetes but no matter how bad things got for her, she always had comfort in someone called โ€œJesusโ€. Oh no I thought not a Christian! She suffered all of my taunts, jibes and nasty comments but worst of all my coldness and my inability to show love. I made it a personal challenge to show her that everyone will let you down and no one can be trusted or faithful! I felt that if I could make her hurt as much as I did then sheโ€™d hate this Jesus and know that he wasnโ€™t real!ย

Then HE came to visit MEโ€ฆ.ย

Hope, Psalm 116:4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: โ€œLord, save me!โ€ย

Iโ€™d seen a guitarist called Eric Bibb on the music show โ€˜Later with Jooles Hollandโ€™ and called Sarah up to see if she had heard of him too. She hadnโ€™t but as a lovely gift she booked tickets to go and see him in London. Iโ€™d only ever been to Metal concerts before so i didnโ€™t know what to expect.ย It was Eric Bibbโ€™s โ€œFriendsโ€ tour and when Eric started the song โ€œNeeded Timeโ€ and sang the words.ย

โ€œIโ€™m down on my bended knees, Iโ€™m on my knees, praying want you come back, come back here?
Even if you donโ€™t stay long, oh my Jesus, If you donโ€™t stay long, Iโ€™m praying, Come back here.
Singing Right now is the needed time, I know you feel the needed time right now. Bless us!โ€ย

This was the moment when I asked Jesus to save me saying โ€œI canโ€™t fight any more. Please help me!โ€ From that moment something happened inside me and I just felt an outpouring of my entire being. My heart seemed to clear itself of all the darkness, hatred and anger Iโ€™d filled it with replacing this with pure love. I couldnโ€™t stop my river of tears for the rest of the show.ย

February 2013 โ€“ Now and into the futureโ€ฆ.

ย Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godโ€™s will is โ€“ his good, pleasing and perfect will.ย

My eyes are filling with tears as I write this section. I just canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m sitting here typing this. If it was up to me than Iโ€™d be dead. Iโ€™d have missed Godโ€™s amazing grace and a living relationship with Jesus along with the countless blessings I simply didnโ€™t know existed! Heโ€™s transformed me in so many ways and Iโ€™m no longer held captive by drinking, swearing, anger, lack of compassion and self loathing, along with much much more. Iโ€™m also getting a long way to overcoming my ever big struggle with over eating.

7Cubed: Steve, we agree with what you said “thereโ€™s no pit too deep that God wonโ€™t reach down and lift you out of.” Praise God for that Truth! Thank you for taking a moment to share your beautiful life with us and may God bless your work and vision throughout the mission He has laid on your heart!

Don’t miss Steve’sย beautiful photography onย his blog!ย

We Must Receive His Grace

Click blue logo for more Bible verses

2 Peter 1:3-4ย The Voice

His divine power has given us everything we need to experience life and to reflect Godโ€™s true nature through the knowledge of the One who called us by His glory and virtue. Through these things, we have received Godโ€™s great and valuable promises, so we might escape the corruption of worldly desires and share in the divine nature.

God took the first step to rescue us from this corrupt world. He has granted us His power, revealed to us true knowledge, and spoken to us great promises. He has done all this for a reason: that we might participate in His own nature and reflect His own life. But we are not passive observers of Godโ€™s saving actions. We must receive His grace, grow in knowledge, and join Him in this work of redemption.

Undead: How Faith & The Living Dead Intersect

Article 42day Logo

ย Undead.ย Author Clay Morgan explores death and the supernatural, explaining how faith and the living dead intersect.

Zombies aren’t just around for Halloween anymore, with the genre finding huge success in Hollywood. AMC’s hit show,ย The Walking Dead, is just one of the many Zombie-focused stories out there today.

Recently, Morgan shared with CBN.comย about this phenomenon, what we can learn from these supernatural stories and how Jesus is the epitome of the “anti-zombie”.

What’s a Christian doing writing a book about zombies?

Clay Morgan:ย I wrote a book about zombies for much the same reason C.S. Lewis wrote a book likeย The Screwtape Lettersย about demonsโ€”to find light in the darkness. Tales of the supernatural are ready-made for Christianity. Zombies are ridiculously popular and culturally relevant, so zombies are a great way to get someone’s attention. From there we can have a marvelous discussion about spiritual life and spiritual death.

I’m also genuinely interested in the topic and pop culture in general. Millions of people never go to church or learn about biblical faith. For them, entertainment may be the sole medium informing their beliefs of the supernatural. If someone walks out of a movie about zombies or vampires asking questions about life beyond the grave then that’s a great opportunity to have a meaningful conversation about eternal things.

Have you received any criticism for examining themes like horror and zombies?

CM:ย Nothing major yet, but I certainly expected some. I’m sure some people don’t want anything to do with zombies, even as a starting point for discussing biblical miracles, but anyone who reads the book will see that it’s about much more. The stories are fun, so there’s not much of a horror/zombie vibe for most readers.

Why are we fascinated by the living dead?

CM:ย In part I think we’re compelled by the world in which they live, a post-apocalyptic environment where humanity as we know it is over. There are no more bills to pay or jobs to pursue or social circles to navigate. There’s equality in the face of death.

As for the monsters, it’s hard to look away from such an uncompromising threat. And on a deeper level we recognize the meaning of an existence with no hope for redemption. Their totality is so threatening. One misstep and it’s over. And the victims in these stories often don’t just die; they are turned into evil monsters which is more terrifying than anything.

Why is being scared entertaining?

CM:ย For most people it’s exciting, an adrenaline rush. The key is that we aren’t in any real danger, so we pay a lot of money for the illusion of such things. Maybe some of us are just thrill seekers. I suspect that part of it is a desire to find out what our thresholds are. What I do know is that if a horror movie plot like a zombie outbreak really happened it would not be fun! The real thing would be so truly terrifying, but entertainment is a different thing.

What’s your favorite zombie film, and why?

CM:ย I think the first zombie movie that truly captivated me wasย 28 Days Laterย in which a man wakes from a coma after London has already been devastated by plague. In addition to the quality of the filmmaking and suspense the story makes you think about fate and the meaningful relationships in our lives. Most of all, you have to consider what humanity becomes in the face of ultimate depravity. After all, zombies are a visible representation of cursed creation.

If I have a clear favorite, it’s probablyย Zombielandย which balances humor with the fright of a world gone wrong. That one really allows you to see the empty stores and communities and consider what the world might look like during an apocalypse.

What spiritual lessons do zombie stories teach us?

CM:ย The biggest lesson might be that it’s possible to exist without truly being alive. A lot of us shamble through life, thoughtlessly going through the motions while feeling dead inside. That includes people in churches and youth groups. We may look like we’re alive to the people around us while masking the decay in our heart.

I used to punch in on Sundays and walk away largely unchanged. What are we living for? What is the meaning of our existence? Zombies aimlessly roam around looking for one more chance to gorge on an appetite of destruction, yet no matter how much they feed on what they desire they are always empty. If anybody has ever wondered what’s missing in life they can probably relate to that kind of emptiness. Fortunately, we don’t have to stay that way. God offers ultimate fulfillment, an abundant life.

A section of your book is titled, ‘Undead in the Bible’. Are you saying there are zombies in the Bible?

CM:ย That idea is really the heart of the book. Most of the chapters inย Undeadย describe the six individuals in the New Testament who were raised from the dead by God. Jesus performed three of these jaw-dropping miracles and became the fourth. Peter and Paul were also used to bring someone back from the dead.

Of course, these individuals weren’t zombies in the Hollywood sense. Like Lazarus, those folks were restored to full life. But the wordplay makes sense since culture is so fascinated with dead people coming back to life. I thought it was pretty cool to show how many times that type of thing happened in the Bible. The same God who brought people back from physical death in the first century is still able to bring us back from spiritual death today.

Inย Undead,ย you say we see ourselves in zombies. How’s that?

CM:ย The thing about zombies is that they look familiar in their t-shirts, jeans, curlers, and slippers. Other monstersโ€”such as aliens, vampire, or werewolves for exampleโ€”look so different. We see ourselves in zombies, the worst possible version of our neighbors and ourselves. They hit close to home.

Metaphorically, some of us see frightening reflections of ourselves when we look in the mirror because we know ugly, personal truths.

A major theme of a lot of zombie films and stories is when the living become more monstrous than the zombies in their quest for survival. What is it about zombie movies that help us to examine the dark side of human nature?

CM:ย You’ve nailed it. Zombie fiction is always about the survivors and how they’ll interact. The title of that show The Walking Dead isn’t a reference to the zombies but to the people attempting to go on. These stories reduce everything to its base. Money and social status don’t help anyone. In such dire circumstances the truth about human nature is revealed, and we know it isn’t pretty. The ancient prophet Jeremiah said that our hearts are deceitful above all else and even desperately wicked. Any good zombie story shows how wicked some people can be.

“Jesus is the anti-zombie”. Please, do explain.

CM:ย Zombies are the complete opposite to Jesus. They come back from the dead to take lives. Jesus came back from the dead to give life to all. Zombies are damaged, decaying, and terrifying. Jesus came back resurrected in perfection, a beautiful sight to all who believe. Zombies transform people from life to death. Jesus offers transformation from death to life. That’s why I call him the anti-zombie.

Undeadย also gets into vampires. How does that folklore play into this?

CM:ย Monster stories often subvert God’s story. For example, vampires receive immortality at the expense of their soul. They take blood to have life which is completely the opposite of Jesus who gave blood so that others might have life. Blood is a central theme throughout both scripture and vampire lore.

The other thing about vampires is that they are the ultimate in selfishness which is something I used to really struggle with. To use another metaphor, spiritual vampires are takers and they can be found anywhere, churches included. We need to make sure we’re not acting like vampires to the people around us by losing sight of what it means to be a servant like Jesus.

Beyond talk of zombies and vampires, this book speaks to deeper issues. What is the message?

CM:ย The ultimate message ofย Undeadย is that God is able to breathe life into each one of us. He wants to transform us, and it will be the most awesome miracle we’ve ever experienced. Spiritual death isn’t just about ignoring God. If we’re honest, some of us may be in churches every week but know that something big is missing from our lives. Like Lazarus, it’s possible to be a friend of Jesus for a while before experiencing a whole new level of his miraculous, life-giving power in a new way.

Who do you know that needs to hear about the transforming power of God? Maybe they’re not even interested in going to church but they just might findย Undeadย engaging enough to discover the mind-blowing force of God’s love.

After watching this amazing testimony of Godโ€™s Love & Grace i couldnโ€™t stop thinking about the lyrics below from the powerful โ€˜Constanceโ€™ song.ย

๐Ÿ““ Lyrics from โ€œConstanceโ€ by Mr. J. Medeirosย

The sound of rain is her backdrop laying there
Like sheโ€™s waiting for somebody to say they care
While the tears of God fall down the window pane
She feels unholy like the Father doesnโ€™t know her name
Marry Magdalene and the woman at the well
He knows everything that happens
And in His arms she fell

My Thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญย

Sarah & i have just got home from โ€œThe Johnny Cash Roadshowโ€ at Epsom Playhouse. When they introduced Johnny Cash as a Singer, Songwriter, Christian & Sinner, i knew it was going to be good! ๐Ÿ™‚

Description from the Epsom Playhouse

Johnny Cash Roadshow

7 November 2013

The UKโ€™s No1 Tribute, fronted by respected singer/songwriter Clive John, re-creates with astounding accuracy and truly captures the essence of what it was like to be at a real Cash show! Also featuring Jill Schoonjans as June Carter, Amanda Stone and Sheena Beckett as the Carter Sisters all aspects of Cashโ€™s life are covered with impeccable taste.

The show takes the audience from the 1950’s right up to 2002 and all the stops in between. All the greatest hits are included, Ring of Fire, Walk the Line as well as the Johnny and June duets Jackson and If I Were a Carpenter and so many more, all the while accompanied by an amazing video back drop with evocative images and shots from Johnny Cash’s life.

ย I hadnโ€™t heard many Johnny Cash songs (even though i play a few) but i was pleasantly surprised with the strong Christian message in some of them! Now iโ€™m totally Countryโ€™d out!ย I’ve added a few songs played tonight, enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚
