O the wonders couched in electing love!

“For you are a holy people who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be His own special treasure!” Deuteronomy 7:6

God highly prizes His people. Yes, it is impossible to say how highly He prizes them. Those are wondrous words, “For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His own special treasure!” Psalm 135:4

Did the shepherd prize his flock? God calls His people, “His flock, His beautiful flock.”

Does the miser prize his wealth? God says of His people, “You shall be a special treasure unto Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.”

Does the prince prize his jewels? God says of His people, “They shall be Mine, in that day when I make up My jewels!”

Does the bridegroom prize his beloved and dearly purchased bride? It is written, “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you!”

Does the reigning monarch prize his crown? God has said, “You shall be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.”

What wondrous love, such expressions as these represent!
How precious must the Lord’s people be to Him!
Truly they are His special treasure!

God chose them to be special unto Himself.
He chose them out from among others.
He chose them in preference to others.

He chose them out from others, on purpose that they may be a special people unto Himself. And in so doing, He acted FREELY. It was not on account of anything He saw in them, or on account of anything He expected from them; but in the exercise of His most free and holy sovereignty, He chose them to participate in the glory of His Son!

In choosing them, He acted also DELIBERATELY. It was no hasty choice.
His thoughts had been eternally filled with them.
His heart had been eternally set upon them.
Therefore He chose them in Christ before the foundation of the world!

In choosing them, He acted WISELY, as He really desired to have them. For each one of them is ready to confess that if God had not chosen them, that they would never have chosen Him! The nature regulates the choice; and as our nature is carnal and impure, we would never have chosen God who is spiritual and holy.

His choice was just an early expression of His LOVE. The love which chose them, would do anything for them, and give anything to them! Therefore God spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for them all; and in so doing, gave them the assurance that He will also freely give them all things in Christ.

O the wonders couched in electing love!

This act of choosing such creatures as we are, to be a special people unto Himself, displays . . .
such grace,
such condescension,
such infinite wisdom and love!

God’s election says, “The Lord loves you!” Loves us! Yes, and with a love that is eternal, immutable, sovereign, infinite, and free! All the love of God is lavished upon us as His special people in Christ. Oh, those wondrous words of Jesus, “You have loved them, even as You have loved Me!” John 17:23

But few among the worldly wise,
But few of nobler race,
Obtain the favor of Your eyes,
Almighty King of grace!

Grace denial

Be cautious of grace denial.

You will need much holy wisdom here, lest you overlook the work of the Spirit within you.

You have thought, it may be, of the glory that Christ receives from . . .
brilliant genius,
and profound talent,
and splendid gifts,
and glowing zeal,
and costly sacrifices,
and extensive usefulness.

But have you ever thought of the glory–the far greater richer glory, that flows to Him from . . .
the contrite spirit,
the broken heart,
the lowly mind,
the humble walk,
the tear of godly repentance that falls when seen by no human eye,
the sigh of godly sorrow which is breathed when heard by no human ear,
the sin abhorrence,
the self loathing,
the deep sense of vileness, and poverty, and infirmity that takes you to Jesus with the prayer:

“Lord, here I am; I have brought to You . . .
my rebellious will,
my wandering heart,
my worldly affections,
my peculiar infirmity,
my besetting and constantly overpowering sin.
Receive me graciously, put forth the mighty power of Your grace in my soul, and subdue all, and rule all, and subjugate all to Yourself! Will it not be for Your glory, the glory of Your great name . . .
if this strong corruption were subdued by Your grace;
if this powerful sin were nailed to Your cross;
if this temper so volatile,
if this heart so impure,
if these affections so truant,
if this mind so dark,
if these desires so earthly,
if these pursuits so carnal,
if these aims so selfish
–were all entirely renewed by Your Spirit, sanctified by Your grace, and made each to reflect Your image? Yes, Lord, it would be for Your glory, through time and through eternity!”

The infinite ocean of Christ’s love!

The mind has often been sensible of a feeling of awe as we have stood upon the shore, and gazed upon the vast expanse of the ocean. With a similar, yet far transcending emotion–we approach the infinite ocean of Christ’s love!

Like the eternity of God–we cannot fathom where His love begins, or where it terminates.

There is no other solution to the marvelous mysteries of His Incarnation and Sacrificial Death but this, Christ has loved us!

Love originated all, explains all, illustrates all.

Love is the interpreter of every Divine mystery.

There is not a circumstance of our Lord’s history which is not another form or manifestation of love.
His incarnation, is love stooping.
His sympathy, is love weeping.
His compassion, is love supporting.
His grace, is love acting.
His teaching, is the voice of love.
His silence, is the repose of love.
His patience, is the restraint of love.
His obedience, is the labor of love.
His suffering, is the travail of love.
His cross, is the altar of love.
His death, is the burnt offering of love.
His resurrection, is the triumph of love.
His ascension into Heaven, is the enthronement of love.
His intercession in Heaven, is the prayer of love.

Such is the deep, the vast, the boundless ocean of Christ’s love!
The soul muses in silent awe as it gazes upon this fathomless, limitless sea!

Nothing short of a divine love could or would have borne our sins, and the punishment of our sins. The weight of the one, and the terribleness of the other, would have crushed and annihilated a mere ‘created’ affection. There existed no love but the love of Jesus, which was equal to the work of salvation.

Who was willing, who was able–to bear that heavy load, to endure that overwhelming curse, but Jesus?

Oh, think, beloved reader, what the love of Christ has done and suffered for you:
the burden it bore,
the sorrow it felt,
the humiliation it underwent,
the insults,
the ignominy,
the privation through which it traveled;
its groans,
its sighs,
its tears,
its darkness;
how inconceivably it agonized,
how freely it bled,
how voluntarily it died,
the sins it has pardoned,
the guilt it has cleansed,
the declensions it has restored,
the backslidings it has healed,
the sorrows it has soothed,
the patience it has exercised,
the gentleness it has exhibited
–and then ask: Could any other but the love of Jesus have done all this, and endured all this?

Such is the love of Christ!

To have saved us upon such terms:
a stoop so low,
a humiliation so profound,
a labor so immense,
mental anguish so acute,
bodily suffering so agonizing,
a death so ignominious!
Was there ever a love like this?
Was it ever equaled?
Where shall we find its parallel?

Love less divine, less strong, less gentle, could never have won your heart, uprooted your enmity, torn you from your idols–enthroning Christ, all of Christ, Christ only, Christ supremely, Christ forever!

The love of Christ will be the wonder, the study, and the song of all pure, holy creatures through eternity!

Beloved, nothing shall take the love of Christ from you, or separate you from it.
It does not ebb with the ebbing of your feelings;
it does not chill with the chill of your affections;
it does not change with the changing scenes and circumstances of your life.

The love of Christ has . . .
depths we cannot sound,
heights we cannot explore,
an infinite fullness and freeness tiding over all the sins, infirmities, and sorrows of its blessed and favored objects!

Seek to know this love of Christ, though it is so vast that it ‘passes knowledge.’ Infinite though it is, you may . . .
experience its reality,
taste its sweetness, and
be influenced by its all commanding, all constraining power!

Do not limit your heart experience of Christ’s love–for it is infinite in its nature, and boundless in its extent.

As yet, how many of us stand but upon the shore of this ocean!

How little do we know, experimentally, of the love of Christ in our souls!

Bring your heart with,
its profoundest emptiness,
its most startling discovery of sin,
its lowest frame,
its deepest sorrow,
and sink it into the depths of the Savior’s love!

That infinite sea will flow over all, erase all, absorb all–and your soul shall swim and sport amid its gentle waves, exclaiming in your joy and transport, “Oh, the depths!”

May the Lord direct your heart into the love of God, just as it is:
hard,
cold,
fickle,
sinful,
sad and
sorrowful.

Christ’s love touching your hard heart, will dissolve it!

Christ’s love touching your cold heart, will warm it!

Christ’s love touching your sinful heart, will purify it!

Christ’s love touching your sorrowful heart, will soothe it!

Christ’s love touching your wandering heart, will draw it back to Himself!

Only bring your heart to Christ’s love!

Believe that He loves you, and just as love begets love–so the simple belief in the love of Jesus will inspire you with a reflected, responsive affection; and your soul, like the flower, will burst from its captivity, and bloom, and, soaring in life, liberty, and beauty–will float in the sunbeams of Gods full, free, and eternal love! And in a little while, will find itself in Heaven, where all is love!

“Blessed Jesus! Your love, like Your agonies, is an unknown and unfathomable depth! It surpasses knowledge. Let it rise and expand before me, until it . . .
fills the entire scope of my soul’s vision;
occupies every niche of my heart;
and bears me onward by its all commanding, all constraining influence, in the path of a holy loving obedience and surrender.”

A love letter sent to you from God!

“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly!” Colossians 3:16

STUDY the Scripture. It is a copy of God’s will.
Be Scripture-men, Bible-Christians.
Search the Scripture, as for a vein of silver.
This blessed Book will fill your head with knowledge, and your heart with grace!

There is majesty sparkling in every line of Scripture.

There is a melody in Scripture. This is that blessed harp which drives away sadness of spirit. How sweetly does this harp of Scripture sound; what heavenly music does it make in the ears of a distressed sinner, especially when the finger of God’s Spirit touches this instrument!

There is divinity in Scripture. It contains the marrow and quintessence of true religion. It is a rock of diamonds, a manual of piety. The lips of Scripture have grace poured into them. The Scripture speaks of faith, self-denial, and all the graces which, as a chain of pearls, adorns a Christian.

Oh, then, search the Scripture! Had I the tongue of angels, I could not sufficiently set forth the excellency of Scripture.
It is a spiritual telescope, in which we behold God’s glory!
It is the tree of life, the oracle of wisdom, the rule of godliness–the heavenly seed of which the new creature is formed.

‘The two Testaments,’ says one, ‘are the two breasts which every Christian must suck, that he may get spiritual nourishment.’ These holy leaves of Scripture are for the healing of our souls.

The Scripture is profitable for all things.
If we are deserted, here is spiced wine that cheers the heavy heart.
If we are pursued by Satan, here is the sword of the Spirit to resist him.
If we are diseased with sin’s leprosy, here are the waters of the sanctuary, both to cleanse and cure.
Oh, then, search the Scriptures!

Read the Bible with reverence. Think, in every line you read, that God is speaking to you! The ark wherein the Word was put was overlaid with pure gold, and was carried on bars, that the Levites might not touch it. Exodus 25:14. Why was this, but to give reverence to the Word?

Read with seriousness. It is matter of life and death!
By this Word you must be tried and judged.

Read the Word with affection. Get your hearts quickened with the Word. Labor that the Word may not only be a lamp to direct, but a fire to warm.

Read the Scripture, not only as a history, but as a love letter sent to you from God, which may affect your hearts.

Pray that the same Spirit who wrote the Word may assist you in reading it; that God’s Spirit would show you the wonderful things of His law, so that the Word will become effectual.

“O how I love Your law! I meditate on it all day long!” Psalm 119:97

Jesus, the believer’s treasure

There is no treasure so satisfying as Christ, for He is the fountain of all happiness, and the source of eternal joy.

The believer values Christ above all, for He is the chief good–and in Him, all desires are fully satisfied.

Christ is the pearl of great price, for whom the believer gladly sells all to possess.

The true saint delights to behold the beauty and glory of Christ, for He is altogether lovely!

The true believer prizes Christ above the world, counting all things but loss for the excellence of knowing Him.

The love of Christ fills the soul as the sweetest treasure, making all earthly pleasures seem as nothing.

When Christ is our treasure, we rejoice in Him as our eternal inheritance–one that can never fade away.

The believer’s heart rests only in Christ, for He is the treasure that can never be exhausted.

Jesus Christ is . . .
the sum of all good things,
the fountain of all beauty,
and the source of all joy to the soul.

There is an infinite excellence in Christ, which is worthy of our highest esteem and most ardent love.

The soul that has tasted the sweetness of Christ, sees that He is infinitely more glorious than all the world.

Christ is . . .
a treasure that never diminishes,
a fountain that never runs dry,
and a Savior who is all-sufficient for every need.

He who has Christ, has a possession of infinite worth–for He is the eternal and unchangeable God, given to us as our eternal portion.

The soul that treasures Christ, finds all earthly possessions as nothing compared to the riches of His grace.

Christ is the great treasure-house of Heaven, from which all blessings flow to His people.

In Christ, the soul finds a Savior who is both the remedy for all its miseries, and the source of all its felicity.

A true saint will part with anything and everything for Christ, because He is the most precious treasure.

The love of Christ constrains the believer to count all things as loss, for the surpassing worth of knowing Him.

Christ is the most precious of all possessions, for He is an infinite good that can never be lost or taken away.

All the treasures of wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption are laid up in Christ for His people.

There is more value in one drop of Christ’s blood, than in all the gold and silver of the world.

The believer finds its greatest joy in the contemplation of Christ’s beauty, love and glory.

The soul that treasures Christ, looks with disdain upon the fleeting pleasures of this world–for they are as shadows compared to the reality of His love.

A heart that values Christ as its treasure, will not be drawn away by the vanities of the world, for it is satisfied in Him.

The riches of the world are like broken cisterns that hold no water, but Christ is a well-spring of eternal life.

Christ is the believer’s treasure, not only because of what He gives, but because of who He is–God Himself, dwelling with His people.

Christ is the key to the treasury of Heaven, and through Him, the believer gains access to boundless riches of grace and glory.

When Christ is the treasure of the heart–He transforms the soul, making it beautiful with His own holiness and love.

The more the soul treasures Christ, the more it is lifted above the cares and trials of this life, finding peace and joy in Him.

The believer who treasures Christ learns to view all things in light of eternity, for Christ becomes the measure of all value and worth.

Christ is the eternal portion of His people, the inexhaustible treasure they will enjoy forever in Heaven.

In the world to come, the saints will rejoice in Christ as their treasure more fully, seeing Him as He is in His infinite glory and love.

The riches of Christ’s glory will never be exhausted, for He is an infinite fountain of joy that flows forever to His people.

The delight of the saints in Heaven, consists chiefly in the joy of beholding Christ as their everlasting treasure!

Lord Jesus,

Lord Jesus,

I come before You with a heart overflowing with gratitude and awe. Thank You, my Savior, for the wondrous love You have shown in laying down Your life for me, a vile sinner. How can I comprehend the depth of Your sacrifice? You, the spotless Lamb of God, took upon Yourself the punishment I so rightfully deserved. You bore my sins and endured the agony of the cross, not because of anything that I have done to deserve it, but because of Your boundless love and grace.

I was lost and condemned, helpless and hopeless–yet You gave Your life to save me. Your love knows no limits, no boundaries, no conditions. It is overwhelming and immeasurable, and I am most grateful and humbled by it.

Thank You for taking my place, for giving Yourself to suffer and die as my sin-atoning sacrifice. Thank You for the gift of eternal life that You have freely given, not because I am worthy, but because You are merciful and full of grace. I can never begin to repay You, but I offer the love of my poor heart, in response to the marvelous mercy and grace which You have shown to me.

I thank You, precious Jesus, for bearing my eternal punishment so that I might know the peace of being reconciled to Father-God. My heart is forever Yours.

Surely I am with you always!

“And surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the world.” Matthew 28:20

Are you going through a sorrowful affliction?

What a Friend,
what a Brother,
what a Helper,
is Jesus!

Never–no never, does He leave His suffering child to travel that mournful night unvisited and unsoothed by His presence.

He is with you now!

His faithfulness never falters.
His love never changes.
His tenderness never lessens.
His patience never wearies.
His grace never decays.
His watchfulness never slumbers.

Jesus loves to visit us in the stormy night of affliction. He says,
“Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand!”  Isaiah 41:10

The incarnate God delights to be near His helpless and timid children. He is near to you, as the strength of your sinking soul.

“Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you.
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior!” Isaiah 43:1-3

Hi Friends.

Whoop Whoop, i’ve finally finished! I can’t believe how much time, effort and energy this challenge stole from me, lol. I’ve just got to say a huge thank you to all of you guys. You’ve made this challenge mean so much with your loving donations, prayers, cheering and kind comment during this monumental challenge…I can only say thank you and God bless you all for your support for me and the Diabetes UK charity! 🙏 😀

I can tell you now that i’m not doing another challenge like this again, lol! I think i’ll do a music marathon or something next year where i can sit down with my guitar…Only my fingers will bleed but at least i’ll be able to sit as it’s also my 50th net year! 🤣

Hi Friends.

Whoever thought this was a good idea?? I can’t believe how much of the day this challenge takes up…I simply haven’t had the time to post or even use my computer! But i thought i’d better come on here and give you guys an update, and also let you know the i’m not in hospital or worse! 😨

I can tell you now that i’m not doing another challenge like this again, lol! I think i’ll do a music marathon or something next year where i can sit down with my guitar…Only my fingers will bleed but at least i’ll be able to sit! 🤣 Anyway i woke up this morning having earned the 1.5 million steps badge…Thankfully this means it’s nearly over and i only have 200,000 steps (100 miles) to go! 💪🏼

Today’s pond photo…

Hi Friends.

Awww who thought this was a good idea?!! It’s so easy whilst i was talking about it and it didn’t seem that far until you actually do it everyday! I can believe it’s day 9 as my shins, calves and feet are not happy to say the least.

It was nice and cloudy today but not raining, so my eyes were not sizzling in the bright sunshine. I also forgot to take many photos for you today as i was concentrating on trying to stop my legs and feet from pain, as i have to try and keep them as safe as i can because i have a few more days to go, lol! 🤣

On the plus side, when i woke up this morning and checked my phone…I had earned the 150,000 steps badge. I like these little motivators as they help get me out of bed and on to the trail, especially when i don’t want to to go! 😀

Today’s Diabetes uk theme is…’purple’

Today’s theme is ‘Purple’ but i haven’t got a purple guitar or effects pedal…Yet, lol. But Sarah reminded me of the purple t-shirts we wore at the ‘Tough Mudder’ i did for World cancer Research charity…

“A true Tough Mudder legend. Everest will challenge participants to run up a quarter pipe to reach the summit. Can’t do it alone? Not to worry – teammates are encouraged to hang over the top to pull their new friends up and over”.

I knew this was going to be more difficult for me as i needed to try it and get hands on before i could calculate what exactly i needed to do. Adie & Ashley explained the process….But i knew i just had to do it before i would really know….As running at a half pipe wall thingy when blind is going to be interesting! 😀

❤️ Yay…It’s Our 17th Wedding Anniversary! ❤️

This has got to be one of my fave posts every year. Not only because it’s all about God and my lovely Wife Sarah, but it’s such a blessing and a reminder to count my blessings with this tremendous gift of marriage that God has given us both.

One of the things i say all of the time is ‘Think Bigger’. This is mainly about someone’s view about God, or their view on a situation that they see as only subjective…But i thought i could never love Sarah more than i did on our wedding day, and somehow (no idea how) my love grows bigger and bigger each year! God seems to say to me ‘Think Bigger’ and opens my heart just a little bit more every wedding anniversary! 🙏 😀

Hi all! Each time our wedding anniversary comes round, i can’t believe how much our marriage has grown more and more fruitful. Our love keeps blossoming through every season…And i always thank God for my lovely wife Sarah!! ❤️ Oh and i just had to show you the wedding cake…Unfortunately i didn’t have one made again for this anniversary, lol! 🤣

I strive daily to love Sarah biblically and extravagantly, but to love her biblically i always first ask “What is God’s love for us like?”

Today’s pond photo…

Hi Friends.

Heading out today wearing my pac-a-mac as it was raining all night, my legs were already hurting and tight. The first lap was the best for me as it was raining and very grey, the other 2 laps were just a killer and i had to stop a few times just to get some energy back and to tell myself off and keep going! I kept thinking about all of you guys out there cheering me on, and how i had to create this post once i’ve finished my walk, and i’d better have some photos and content for you guys to look at! 💪🏼

Yay i’m here!

After yesterday’s attempt at trying to get me in the photo so you didn’t think i wasn’t there, lol…I thought i’d try another and i think it’s worked! That can’t be a fluke, and you’d better watch out as i might start taking more photos of me going around the trail! 😲 My face is already hurting as i’m having to smile for camera, and it uses too many muscles and energy that i need for my legs! 🤣

Stumbling round the trail like a zombie, i needed to look out for some ‘Skylines’ for today’s theme for Diabetes UK. As i’m always looking down i never really look up, but when i did i stopped (not sure why) and took the photo above. The super blurry lines and light just seemed to click for me, and i hope it’s taken a nice photo for you?

Today’s Diabetes uk theme is…’skylines’

A photo on my daily trail walk around my local nature reserve. It was grey and most of the skyline is covered with trees. As ‘m registered blind i can only really walk on the same loop around this trail…So i keep going round and round, and there isn’t any building to get a Skyline, lol! After my daily 3 hour walk and a few loops, i managed 21,000 steps! My legs are letting me know that’s quite a lot for me, lol!

Today’s pond photo…

Hi Friends.

Wow i feel battered, achy and sore today but i did manage over 25,000 steps yesterday. This is a little over what i needed to do, as i really want to have steps in hand as you know anything can happen and probably will, lol! On the plus side the sun was nowhere to be seen and it was very cloudy which made for the best conditions for me…Well raining is best as there not as many people out on the trail! 🤣

Yay i’m here!

As i was about 7 miles in i thought ‘I haven’t taken any photos of me at all on the trail, so i’d better try and take one and let you guys know i am actually here and not just taking random photos, lol’. I much prefer to take my own photo as i know roughly where the camera is (as i’m holding it) instead of guessing where the person is! The only problem was that i was so tired i could hardly hold up the phone. 🤣

I managed to roll each of my ankles, neither of them snapped off but i’ll definitely feel them later. When i arrived home my lovely Wife Sarah welcomed me with yet another one of her amazing smashed ice babycino’s…Wow they are tasty and i definitely need it to cool down! 😋 There is just one more walk this evening to round off the day that i love to do with Sarah, it’s a much more enjoyable one as i’m hand in and with my lovely walking through the woods. ❤️

The tenderness of God

“He will feed His flock like a Shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.” Isaiah 40:11

How soothing, in the hour of sorrow, or bereavement, or death–to have the countenance and sympathy of a tender earthly friend. Reader, these words tell you of One nearer, dearer, tenderer still–the Friend that never fails, a tender God!

By how many endearing epithets does Jesus exhibit the tenderness of His relation to His people.

Does a shepherd watch tenderly over his flock?
“The Lord is my Shepherd.”

Does a father exercise fondest solicitude towards His children?
“I will be a Father unto you.”

Does a mother’s love exceed all other earthly types of affection.
“As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you.”

Is the ‘apple of the eye’ (the pupil) the most sensitive part of the most delicate bodily organ?
He guards His people “as the apple of His eye!”

“He will not break the bruised reed.”

When the Shepherd and Guardian of souls finds the sinner, like a lost sheep, stumbling on the dark mountains–how tenderly He deals with him! There is no look of wrath; no word of upbraiding. In silent love “He lays him on His shoulders rejoicing!”

Reader, are you mourning over . . .
the weakness of your faith,
the coldness of your love,
your manifold spiritual declensions?

Fear not. He knows your frame! He will give ‘feeble faith’ tender dealing. He will carry in His arms those that are unable to walk, and will conduct the burdened ones through a path less rough and rugged than others.

When “the lion” or “the bear” comes–you may trust the true David, the tenderest of Shepherds!

Are you suffering from outward trial? Confide in the tenderness of your God’s dealings with you. The strokes of His rod are gentle strokes–the needed discipline of a father yearning over his children the very moment He is chastising them. The gentlest earthly parent may speak a needlessly harsh word at times–but not so God. He may seem like Joseph to his brethren, to ‘speak roughly’–but all the while there is love in His heart!

The pruning knife will not be used unnecessarily. It will never cut too deeply.

The furnace will not burn more fiercely than is absolutely required.
A tender God is seated by it, tempering the fury of its flames!

And what, believer, is the secret of all this tenderness?
There is a Man upon the Throne! Jesus, the God-Man Mediator–combining with the might of Godhead, the tenderness of spotless humanity.

Is your heart crushed with sorrow?
So was His!

Are your eyes dimmed with tears?
So were His? “Jesus wept!”
Bethany’s Chief Mourner still wears the Brother’s heart in glory!

Others may be unable to enter into the depths of your trial.
Jesus can–Jesus does!

With such  a tender God . . .
caring for me,
providing for me,
watching my path by day, and
guarding my couch by night,
“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone,

#BlindSteve – Land’s End to John O’ Groats Walk…

Today’s pond photo…

Hi Friends.

Well today’s the day! Still can’t believe my challenge is here already. As i started out on my first 10 mile walk, the sun was blinding (my worst conditions) and i spent most of the first lap immobilised…But it made for a nice photo of the pond for you (see above). Thankfully on the next two laps the clouds came over and made everything much more even and dull, sounds morbid but it’s the best condition for my eyes and brain to stop killing me, lol. 🤣

The Donation…

I had been walking for around 5 miles, my head and eyes were hurting from the sun, my legs were feeling it and then…The joyful Muppet theme song blasted through my ears which not only put a smile on my face, but it meant that i’d received another donation! I quickly stopped my navigation app and checked who it was…It was our good friends Lynda & John who never fail to support me and the charities i do these crazy challenges for, lol! To say i’m thankful is an understatement, and i can’t believe the kind, loving and generous support i’ve received so far from all of you guys, i’m simply stunned! ❤️

This instantly stopped me from being fed up and wanting to go home…To telling myself off and getting stuck in for the next 5 miles!! 💪🏼 And when i arrived home tired, aching but buzzing as i’d received a donation on my first day, Sarah had made me an amazing iced babyccino to cool me down…What an amazing wife! 😀

Today’s Diabetes uk theme is…’wear blue’

As you know i like wearing my ‘Blue’ INOV-8 trail shoes. Sorry i couldn’t take a photo of me wearing them, but here they are. I walk on light trails so these are perfect for me to feel the ground and (acting as my eyes), great grip and most importantly keep the blisters away!

Hi Friends!!

Wow, can you believe there is only 5 days to go before i start my biggest and hardest challenge yet…The Land’s End to John O’ Groats Walk. A 10 mile walk every day for 85 consecutive days to reach 850 miles which is 1.7 million steps for Diabetes UK.

Type 1 diabetes never gives my lovely Wife Sarah a rest, so I don’t want to have one either during my fundraising challenge!

Thankful Thursday: 3.42 mile speedy walk 👨🏻‍🦯💪🏼

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

As i completed my longer walk yesterday, my plan was to do a 6 mile (2 lap) walk nice and slow to give my legs time to relax and i could sit back and enjoy this beautiful place…This didn’t happen, lol! 🤣

My Inov-8 trailfly ultra G300 max trail shoes…

I have 2 pairs of trail shoes and i do a shoe rotation each day so the foam padding has time to spring back, and this means i get no blisters, bad feet, shins or leg damage. . Unfortunately it’s the day i wear my fave Inov-8’s and as soon as i left the road and joined the light trail paths…My shoes seemed to hit a super sport mode and hunkered down and sped off! Thankfully it wasn’t a sunny day today so as my legs steamed on ahead, i held on for dear life and resigned myself to a speedy 1 lap instead. 😨

Looking through the photos i post on here on my mac with full zoom, i forget just how beautiful the trail is. It’s so easy to forget as i’m stomping through with tired legs, aching bones, thirsty throat and a starving belly, lol. 😋 I’m so thankful that i stop and take a few photos as i can enjoy them when i get home.

I also want to say i’m so thankful that even though i’m blind, i can go out walking through God’s beautiful creation, listen to my audio navigation Soundscape app and create beacons, have loving memories of family and friends and capture some photos for you to enjoy around the world…I don’t think i’ll ever get my head around having you guys out there to love, encourage and support me in ways i didn’t even know were possible…Thanks for being a blessing! 🙏 😀

Wayfaring Wednesday: 8.57 mile walk 👨🏻‍🦯💪🏼

Hi Fitblitzers.

Oh how quickly we forget…I can’t believe I’ve ever walked for over 8 miles before, lol! I’m so glad i’m typing this as it means i’m alive and i’ve made the walk.

I managed 3 laps (8.57 miles) and my legs are feeling it, but i need to keep going as my next charity fundraising challenge for Diabetes UK (starts 1st July 2024) is 10 miles for 85 consecutive days! 😨 Today’s walk at least had some good parts as it’s a longer walk, so i need to take out my fave chocolate flapjacks to fuel me towards the end…Bonus! 💪🏼

Helter-Skelter audio beacon…

As i had 2 and a half hours to walk today i thought i’d take a few more photos for you to look at, because at least you need to see how beautiful it is around here, lol. 🤣 I also took the photo above of my ‘Helter-Skelter audio beacon’ which i named after the section of track on the Laguna Seca circuit. It’s not quite as dangerous but for this blindman that has to navigate the s bend without flying into the trees and bushes is always a laugh! 💪🏼

As i can label the audio beacons and place them anywhere i like, i’ve actually labelled a couple after people i’ve lost or know…Then as it calls out the name i take a minute to think of that person and the memories they bring up, it’s such a unusual yet lovely daily reminder! 🙏 😀

There is a smoother and an easier way to Heaven, than what the Scriptures have marked out

Jeremiah 6:14, “They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace!’ they say, when there is no peace!”

Ezekiel 13:10, “They lead My people astray, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace!”

These verses are a scathing denunciation of every unfaithful minister!

In the Christian Church, there are many who, while professing themselves to be ambassadors of Heaven, are only deceivers of the people! Their habit has at all times been, to preach, “Peace, peace!” when there was no peace!

There are still many ministers who never teach their people:
the desperate depravity of the human heart,
the absolute necessity of a new birth,
the impossibility of being saved by their own righteousness, and
the indispensability of thorough devotion to God, as His redeemed people.

Instead, they tell their hearers, that there is a smoother and an easier way to Heaven, than what the Scriptures have marked out!

Whether seduced by others or not, all unbelievers are naturally prone to speak “peace” unto their own souls. “I have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart!” Deuteronomy 29:19

The unsaved will not receive the plainest declarations of God concerning them. They cannot endure to think that they are in such danger as God’s Word declares them to be.

They do not believe that the way to Heaven is as strait and narrow as His Gospel represents it.

They persuade themselves that they shall be saved at last, even though they scoff at both the clearest principles and practices of Scripture.

Yet the holy Judge of every person is unmistakable, “There is no peace for the wicked! The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God!” Isaiah 57:21, Psalm 9:17

Tuner Tuesday: 6 mile walk 👨🏻‍🦯

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

Wow that was hard! My leg muscles felt like they were empty and only running at about 20%. Oh and the sun was out too making it really difficult…Shal i stop complaining now, lol! 🤣 I’m thankful for actually making it around 2 laps (6 miles) without any dramas, and that’s another day of walking complete ready for the challenge which starts 1st July!! 💪🏼

I can’t believe it’s ‘Tuner Tuesday’ already but i’m really looking forward to the Sarah tuna stack sarnie. 😋

As i walked around 2 laps today, i didn’t want to bore you with another photo of the pond. So when i arrived at the Bench inside the woods audio beacon, and it’s the place where i can get lost if i’m not concentrating…I thought i’d take a photo instead.

Anyway, i’d better stop rambling on (pun intended) and check that i’m in tune as it’s ‘Tuner Tuesday’. 💪🏼

Pond looking green again so Spring is here, lol.

Hi Fitblitzers.

As it’s only 3 weeks today until i start my biggest charity fundraising challenge so far…It was definitely the motivation i needed to get out on the trail this morning! I’ve left it a little too late to get in shape for this 10 miles a day for 85 days walking challenge that is the same as walking from Land’s End to John O’ Groats…But what’s a challenge it doesn’t have the potential to kill you, lol! 🤣

I walked out on the beautiful trail and managed 6 miles with the lovely bird song (and the Soundscape app jabbering in my ear) keeping me company. I was very pleased that i had no dramas with runners, cyclists, dog walkers or snapped ankles, so in my book that’s a win and i can continue tomorrow if my legs aren’t too painful tonight. 💪🏼

Can’t really tell it’s raining lots, lol!

Hi Fitblitzers.

After two weeks off walking as i’ve been way too busy, i’m finally back out on the trail. I’ve really got to put in the miles from now on ready for my longest walking challenge so far that starts on 1st July. Of course it was checking it down with rain and overcast but that is my fave conditions to walk in with my eyesight.

The foot soaker…😨

I knew the trail would be wet today and the foot soaker section would be full of puddles, and as i walked two laps today i had to try and navigate this section twice. It doesn’t look much but each of the puddles are ankle deep and my trail shoes are not that tall, lol. I somehow managed to get through it both times with only a skimming of one which only soaked my toes, yay!

Anyway, i’d better stop rambling on (pun intended) and check that i’m in tune as it’s ‘Tuner Tuesday’. 💪🏼

The Wise Man says that there is “a time to laugh.” That is, there is a time when laughter is right, when it is a duty–and when it would be wrong not to laugh. Perhaps we have not been accustomed to think of laughter in this way. We regard it as an agreeable exercise–but are not apt to class it among duties, like honesty or kindness.

It would be a sad thing, however, if laughter would be altogether crowded out of life. Think of a world of human beings with no laughter–men and women always wearing grave, serious, solemn faces. Think of the laughter of childhood departing from the world–how dull and dreary life would be! Nothing on earth is more beautiful, than the merry laugh of childhood.

Laughter has its place in every wholesome, healthy, holy life. The man who never smiles–is morbid! He has lost the joy-chords out of his life. He has trained himself to think only of unpleasant things, to look only and always at the dark side. He has accustomed himself so long to sadness–that the muscles of his face have become set in hard, fixed lines–and cannot relax themselves. His thoughts of life are gloomy–and the gloom has entered his soul and darkened his eyes!

Where there is no laughter–all evils nest. Demons do not laugh!

The man who never laughs, must not blame his fellows if they think there is something wrong with his life–something dark within.

Hi Fitblitzers.

After reading some of your comments last night about my 50th birthday Florida trip i’m thinking about, i was thinking that maybe i could never do my walks each day and take photos like the one of the pond above if i lived in Florida. I thought that if it was Florida, then my pond photo above would have an American Alligator, American Black Bear, Diamondback Rattlesnake and maybe a Brown Recluse spider, as exciting as it maybe i’m wondering if Blindies like myself get eaten alive, torn apart or chased until i get tired and collapse as i simply can’t see them…Yes even a massive American Alligator, lol! 🤣

This isn’t the only thing on my mind, lol, as i switch quickly to the Cuban sandwich i have to try and the omnifarious Floridian foods i need to try. 😋 I want to eat the food…Not be the food, lol! 🤣 But seriously me and my lovely Wife Sarah would love for Florida to be ‘The Blind Sightseers’ next holiday (and hopefully not the last) but it’s just at the dream stage at the moment waiting to move into reality. 🙏

I need to go and take the photo above again, as i don’t think you can see the big S shape skid chicane the path takes. I’ll go out on Monday and take another one. I labelled this audio beacon after Sarah’s eldest brother Simon, he also had Scalextric (slot cars) as a kid and played on them for hours, and when i was out showing Sarah the part and what i was thinking of calling it, she remembered that her Mum had made Simon a skid chicane for his Scalextric…So i had to call it ‘The Simon Skid Chicane’. 😀

Hi Fitblitzers.

Wow, when i stopped my walking workout after today’s figure of 8 lap (same one i walked yesterday for 5.02 miles) i was shocked to hear it was exactly 5.02 miles…Now that’s like i’m walking on rails, lol. I didn’t know i was that exact when i created the figure of 8 trail. 😲

The start line audio beacon…

I said yesterday that i’d take a photo of the famous start line audio beacon that has started a few of my charity walking fundraisers! 💪🏼 This where it all happens (well once i’ve walked there from my front door, lol), and this is where i metaphorically turn my cap around (Over the top movie) and get focused on the challenge ahead!

The Sarah Sunshine bench audio beacon…

This is my Sarah’s Sunshine Bench audio beacon.

I also said yesterday that i labelled some of my audio beacons with the names of people, and obviously i’ve taken one of my faves (not biased at all) of the ‘Sarah’s Sunshine Bench’. Sarah said “I want the sunshine bench to be named after me’, and as it’s perminately in the sunshine i always smile when my Soundscape app calls it out every day on my walk…Now that’s a living legacy, lol! ☀️

I just want to say i’m so thankful that even though i’m blind, i can go out walking through God’s beautiful creation, listen to my audio navigation Soundscape app and create beacons, have loving memories of family and friends and capture some photos for you to enjoy around the world…I don’t think i’ll ever get my head around having you guys out there to love, encourage and support me in ways i didn’t even know were possible…Thanks for being a blessing! 🙏 😀

Hi Fitblitzers.

Yay i’ve made it out on the trail! I managed 5.02 miles (figure of 8 loop) today and all of that fresh air, birds singing and feet pounding was great medicine for this out of tune old guy! 🤣

After posting the images on this post, i really can’t believe the difference of the camera (super detailed) and the way i see the landscape…It really is like trying to look through a bowl of pea soup, and with the sun out it’s even worse than that.

Trail Trees Audio Beacon…

Still wondering what to name the audio beacon that stops me to take this photo? Any ideas?

Whilst walking my way around the trail, i had a great idea! I thought that i could take a photo of each of the audio beacons i’ve set around the trail so you could see how beautiful it is around here. 😀

Rail Crossing audio beacon…

I took a few photos today but i think i should start at the beginning, lol. As you may know there are about 40 – 50 audio beacons i’ve set on the trail so far, and i listen to them all of the time with my Soundscape app and my AirPods in my ears. I look like i’m just enjoying music or an audiobook but i’m listening carefully for every direction so i don’t get damaged as much!

As i can label the audio beacons and place them anywhere i like, i’ve actually labelled a couple after people i’ve lost or know…Then as it calls out the name i take a minute to think of that person and the memories they bring up, it’s such a unusual yet lovely daily reminder! 🙏 😀

Now it’s time to see if i survive after this walk, and if so i’ll see you tomorrow. Take care and God bless.

Florida At 50?? 🇺🇸🤔

Hi WordPress Family…

Me and my lovely Wife Sarah (The Blind Sightseers) were chatting today about what i’d like to do for my 50th birthday next April 2025? I mentioned that i’d never been to America and i’d love to go there one day. Sarah said that she’d also love to go to America and we both talked about maybe Florida?!

I said i’d write this post to ask all of you amazing people about what you guys thought about ‘The Blind Sightseers’ travelling Stateside? Can you guys think of where we could visit, places to go and see and points of interest we could explore? I’m thinking of Florida at the moment but i’m open to any other ideas too? I’ve heard of the enormous crocodiles, snakes and spiders over there…And this could only make the adventure more exciting if we survived, lol! 🤣

Please could you leave a comment with all of your thoughts as i’d love to hear them…I’m getting excited already! 😀

Quick Update: Knocked Flat! 😨

Hi WordPress family. I just thought i’d let you know that i’m currently knocked flat with a cough, running nose and lurgy type thingy, so i havn’t managed to post anything for a week! I hope to be back up and running soon and i can’t wait to catch up with you guys. 🙏 😀

I’m really missing being out on the trail and pounding out those miles…But i can’t be bothered to do anything yet as my energy levels are very low etc. See you guys soon! 😀

Yeah it’s still 5˚C this morning, so even though the sun was blitzing my eyeballs it was still freezing. But i want my chocolate flapjack this afternoon so i need to go out and walk at least 1 lap, lol!

After all of these years blogging i have finally found a speedy way of adding my photos to a post. I have mainly posted 1 or 2 photos to a post as it takes me too long to compose a post…But now i can add them quicker i can bore you with more photos each day of my trail walks! 🤣 💪🏼

I also stood on the scales this morning (Weigh-in Wednesday) and i’ve lost 9 pounds since i’ve been out walking in the trails again! This now leaves me with 41 pounds to lose over the next 12 months. 💪🏼

Tuner Tuesday: The Ankle Bend! 👨🏻‍🦯

Hi Fitblitzers.

It was another puffer jacket walk today as it was freezing, well 5˚C which is really cold, lol. I can’t believe it’s ‘Tuner Tuesday’ already but i’m really looking forward to the Sarah tuna stack sarnie at lunchtime. 😋

I did my usual default lap today (3.5 miles) and i managed to snap a couple of photos for you. I’m starting to get back into the trail walks again after my holiday in Portugal…Although i’m not used to the freezing temperatures yet instead of sun burn, lol.

Shortly after taking the photo above, and as i was actually enjoying being out in the fresh air joyfully walking along i approached the crater section! The craters must be 3ft wide and scattered across the trail usually filled with water. As i approached i set my legs into suspension mode and gritted my teeth as i can’t see the floor at all (not because of my belly, lol) with my blindness. I thought i’d gently slide through them until crunch…My right foot folded inside as my outer ankle bone hit the ground! I couldn’t believe it when i stood up and there was no pain or no snapped bones especially with the extra 3.5 stone i’m carrying around. I’ve always said that i have rubber ankles from my football days when i used to roll over on them all of the time, and i’m so thankful that even at my age they haven’t seized up yet, lol! 🤣

Wow it’s cold!! After me and my lovely Wife Sarah (The Blind Sightseers) were being roasted in the sun last week in Portugal…Coming home and going out on the trail in my puffer coat was a shock to say the least, lol! 🤣

To say i wasn’t motivated this morning to go out and freeze to death was quite an understatement! But i knew you guys would be out there waiting for me to put in some miles and take some pond photos, lol. I managed 3.5 miles today and i even walked around the side of the pond to get you a different angle. 😀

Now i can grab a coffee and stay in the warmth and edit my holiday photos ready to show you guys! ☕

Me and my lovely Wife Sarah (The Blind Sightseers) have not forgotten you…We’ve just had the chance to celebrate both of our birthdays in the Algarve, Portugal, our first holiday in 5 years!! 😀

We have taken lots of photos for our amazing memories, and i hope you can enjoy them too?! Here are a few i’ve managed to edit for a little taster until i can post more as i edit them. 😀

Hi WordPress Family…

The blindman is off the side lines again…… and while God gives me the strength in my legs. I’ll use them for doing crazy fundraising challenges to help others.

After struggling last year to complete the one million step challenge I vowed never to do another .… until now…. And as usual, I’ve gone over the top and decided to take it up a gear.

For the last 20 years, since meeting my ‘T1D Warrior Wife Sarah’, I’ve wanted to be a ‘Sarah’s Walking Warrior’ and raise money to help fight diabetes.

So here’s the 6th #BlindSteve fundraising challenge…

My challenge is to attempt to walk 1.7 million steps between 01 July and 30 Sept 24. This distance equates to walking from Land’s End to John O’ Groats in three months! 😨

I’m doing this to support my wife and the 5 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. Can you help me do this, by making a donation so that we can fight diabetes together.

There are but two classes of people mentioned in the Scriptures, and to one or other of them we all belong. There is no intermediate category.

Indeed we cannot always determine to which of these classes men belong, because we cannot discern their hearts. But the all-seeing God, to whom all things are open and exposed, will differentiate them from each other, as easily as we distinguish cats from dogs.

It is of infinite importance that we should have this truth impressed on our minds, for we are ready to rank among the wicked, only those who are guilty of heinous crimes, whereas all are wicked, who are not truly converted to God.

God’s testimony respecting them is applicable to them all, whether they are more or less wicked in respect to gross sins.

The openly debauched are surely exceedingly loathsome in the sight of God!

Let anyone but notice their speech–and how replete is it with lewdness and blasphemy!

Let their character be marked–and what evil dispositions they manifest on all occasions!

Let their conduct be scrutinized, their drunkenness, their whoredoms, and all their other abominations–and who must not confess the justice of that scriptural representation, which compares them to swine wallowing in the mire, and dogs devouring their own vomit!

The more decent people, it is true, do not appear so vile in the eyes of men. Yes, perhaps they are even honored and esteemed by others–yet they are loathsome in the sight of God!

What monsters of ingratitude are the very best of unregenerate men! What inconceivable mercies have they received from God, and yet they have never spent one hour in humble and grateful thanksgiving. How loathsome then must they be to the God of all grace!

We confess that their actions may have appeared good to men, but how have their hearts appeared to the all-seeing God? Have they not been a very sink of iniquity? Yes, so depraved are the very best of men, that there are few, if any, who would not rather die–than have all the secrets of their hearts known to men, as they are known to God! What then are such people, but white-washed grave-stones! No wonder that, however they are esteemed among men–both their persons and their works are an abomination to the Lord!

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

Well i’m not sure about you, but i couldn’t get motivated to leave the house this morning! After exhausting every excuse i managed to get out on the trail and take the daily pond photo for you! 😀

Here in England we’ve had some strongg winds for a couple of days, so i was very cautious through the woods today as i thought i’d be floored and damaged by fallen trees again. I’d walked carefully expecting to be whacked at any moment by a tree across the path…Then i was, lol!

Thankfully it wasn’t a major incident, as my face was suddenly attacked by lots of leaves and branches which makes you jump out of your skin as you’re not expecting it…And as my reactions slowed me quickly i couldn’t find a way through as the branches got thicker as i realised i couldn’t get through. I pulled my face from the branches and worked my way around until i was free and on the other side, yay! I stopped and took the photo above…And it looks a lot less than i’m explaining, but in my defence i can’t see anywhere near as clear as the camera, lol! It’s an amazingly big challenge when you can’t see what you’re doing or what obstacle is in your way! 💪🏼 😀

Cod Fillet FitBlitzing Fitness Friday: Dumbbells & Kettlebells! 💪🏼

Hi Fitblitzers.

Not only do i walk and burn my legs into the ground as i’m sure i’m getting shorter, lol…But on Friday’s me and my lovely wife Sarah have huge Cod fillets and then get out the various dumbbells and kettlebells! 😨

When you get to my age, lol (49 in a week) you may have heard the word ‘Sarcopenia’ well i think Sarah is fed up of hearing it from me, i think i use it as an excuse to eat lots of protein e.g fish, steak, chicken breasts etc…Well a man has to try, lol! 🤣

Also i think it is important as i read “Sarcopenia is the age-related progressive loss of muscle mass and strength. The main symptom of the condition is muscle weakness. Sarcopenia is a type of muscle atrophy primarily caused by the natural aging process”.

With that said, i think i’m going for a chicken breast burger tomorrow as got to keep up the daily protein, lol! 💪🏼 😀

The Christian Journey

Life is a journey, often a short one, and always uncertain.

But there is another journey. The believer is traveling through a waste howling wilderness, to another and a glorious region, where ineffable delight and happiness await us.

The road is narrow, the entrance strait–so strait that thousands miss it and perish in the wilderness. But true believers, under the teaching and convoy of the Holy Spirit, find it and walk in it.

The King, in His infinite love and compassion, has made a hedge about them–separating and defending them from the many beasts of prey that lurk around them; and although they hear their howlings and behold their threatenings, they are safe from their power.

But their strongest foe is within themselves–a heart deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. From this there is no escape but by constant watchfulness, and earnest cries to their best Friend and Guide for protection.

Were it not for this faithful Guide, how often, discouraged by reason of the way, would they turn back! But He . . .
  watches over them by night and by day,
  strengthens them when weak,
  upholds them when falling,
  encourages them when cast down,
  defends them when attacked,
  provides for them when in need,
  leads them by living streams, and
  causes them there to lie down in pleasant pastures, and on sunny banks.

And as they advance they obtain brighter views of the good land they are nearing. And they long to see the King in His beauty, and the land that is yet very far off, and to meet those that have already arrived on that happy shore.

Thankful Thursday: 6.44 mile walk

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

Just to say this is the walk i did yesterday (Wayfaring Wednesday) but i didn’t have time to write it, so here it is.

My plan was to walk the whole (brand new) ‘Trinity Lap’ which is around 11 miles, i’ll let you know if i actually complete it, lol. I packed my backpack with my new rain mac, plenty of water and supplies as i thought i’d be out for about 4 hours in on the trail. As you know i’ve made 3 loops in 1 big lap but never walked the whole thing in one go…And i still haven’t!

I think my mind was still thinking my body was in full race condition (2 years since my ultra marathon walk) and not that i’m 3.5 stone heavier and not walked for ages, lol! I had taken the usual lovely photo of the pond and just finished the very noisy road section, when as it went beautifully quiet, peaceful with just the sound of the tweeting birds as i entered the woods again (see below) my body let me down…😨

I was walking along the new section of the ‘Trinity Lap’ when embarrassingly i suddenly was bursting for the toilet! 😨 I was still about 3 miles from home as i was on the opposite side of the loop, and it was not going away…I’ll just say that i was so thankful that somehow i made it all the way home! 🙏 😀

Now it’s time to read my old posts and try and figure out how i used to do this as i’ve forgotten, lol. But i’m so thankful that even though i’m blind, i can go out and attempt these things and capture some photos for you to enjoy around the world…I don’t think i’ll ever get used to have you guys out there to love, encourage and support me in ways i didn’t even know were possible…Thanks for being a blessing! 🙏 😀

Tuner Tuesday: Loop 1 – 3.5 miles

Today’s Pond Photo…

Hi Fitblitzers.

Hope you all had a blessed Easter? It’s ‘Tuner Tuesday’ already and i can’t believe how fast the weeks simply fly by!

I did my usual old lap today (3.5 miles) and i’ve realised it’s only 1 loop in my new 3 loop trinity lap which i’m going to attempt tomorrow, it should be over 10 miles so i’ll need your prayers again!

My stomach is rumbling as i type this, as my lovely Wife Sarah is going to make me the tuna stack sarnie with a cup of her legendary fresh coffee! ☕ It’s been 3 weeks since i’ve started back walking and hitting the trails again and i’m feeling more in tune each time i go out there. My legs are remembering the daily pounding they have to deal with and are getting back up to speed. I’m also focusing on my EADGBE and keep it in my mind which is another helpful tool to keep me going. 😀

E – Endurance – Tortoise NOT Hare, lol!
A – Activity Rings – I use apple watch so i need to close my daily rings.
D – Deficit – Make sure i’m in a healthy calorie deficit each day until healthy weight.
G – Goals – Focus on my many lifetime goals.
B – Body – Listen to my body and look after it (it’s not young anymore, lol).
E – Edification – Pretty much help and improves everything, lol!

The Holy Spirit

The Spirit reveals the Savior to our souls in a manner that renders Him exceedingly precious in our estimation. He shows us . . .

His wisdom,
His immutability,
His eternity!

The Spirit exhibits to us . . .
the amazing love of Jesus to sinners,
the wonders of His incarnation,

the unparalleled sufferings of His life,
the fruits of His death, resurrection, ascension and intercession!

The Spirit shows us His suitableness to our needs as sinners. He points us to Calvary, and whispers in our ears the cheering truth that we have redemption through the blood of Jesus, even the forgiveness of sins!

The Spirit comforts us amid all the tribulations of earth:
by assuring us that our trials are but light and momentary,
by perfecting His strength in our weakness,
by bringing to our remembrance the many precious words of the Lord Jesus,
by communicating to us the things of God,
by lifting our hearts above the world, and
by pointing us to a home of rest and glory beyond the skies–where tribulation, and anguish, and death, never come!

Yes, by His divine power thus operating on our minds, He enables us to look far beyond the present. He direct faith’s far reaching eye to our Father’s house, and the fountains of immortal life, flowing through those sweet fields beyond the swelling flood–the sight of which makes us long to be there, that we may see Jesus as He is, and taste His goodness on the shores of the promised land!

Why does the Lord of life and glory suffer?

Why does He endure that piercing agony and that bloody sweat in gloomy Gethsemane?

Why is He condemned to the death of Calvary?

Look at the crucified Jesus!

Why does He hang on that bloody cross?

Why are those blessed hands and feet nailed to the accursed tree?

Why is that dear side pierced with the soldier’s spear?

Why does the immaculate Lamb of God thus bleed?

Ah! believing sinner, it is for you!

For you, Christ endured that indescribable agony in Gethsemane, and those excruciating pains on Calvary!

For you, the blood trickles down those pale cheeks, and streams from that pierced side.

For you, the Son of God endures the hidings of His Father’s face–until He is led to exclaim in the bitterness of His soul, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

For you, His last breath is drawn, and His last cry uttered, “It is finished!”

O could you but see with faith’s vision, what Christ has done for you–surely your whole heart would burn with love to such a Savior, who, to ransom your precious soul from eternal woe, shed His own blood! That precious blood was poured out to cleanse you from the guilt of sin!

Sin, then, was the cause of the sufferings and death of God’s dear Son. Ah! sinner, you have slain the innocent Lamb of God! You have caused those wounds on Immanuel’s glorious person. Your sins pierced Him to the very heart!
