Description

On my recent Sunshine Award post, I answered the following question:

Q. What is your favourite pattern’

A.’Macassar Ebony’

I thought afterwards that maybe some people would knot know about this stunning exotic wood that is sometimes used to make acoustic guitars. So I thought I would take some photos of my Taylor custom acoustic guitar.

I feel so blessed to own this guitar and be ably to play my chords for the Lord on such a beautiful instrument

While on holiday last year in Hunstanton, Norfolk I kept hearing a fat american V8 driving around the town, and one day it was parked up so I could snap it with my camera!

My friends dad always had american cars Β and vans and I’ve enjoyed them for most of my life, so I was excited when I could finally put a picture to that beautiful sound.

RNIB Supporter Receptions

Ageas Bowl panoramic

Yesterday Sarah & I attended anΒ RNIB supporter Reception at the Ageas Bowl in Hedge End. (image above taken using the panorama option on my iPhone 4s)

As part of Sarah’s work as a legacy marketing officer at RNIB andΒ editor of Outlook Magazine, she gets the chance to attend some of RNIB’sΒ supporter receptions, held all across the UK at some amazing locations.Β She interviews people, finds case studies and learns more about theΒ ever changing new technologies and services that RNIB provides to helpΒ transform the lives of blind and partially sighted people and offer themΒ a brighter future to look forwards to. On a personal level we also likeΒ to speak with the people to inspire them and more importantly, for me,Β break their misconceptions of what a blind person should look and actΒ like. (as a blind photographer I often inspire a range of questionsΒ which I am happy to answer)Sarah interviewing

One of my memorable moments was when John walked to the front and said:

Today and everyday Β in the Uk alone 100 people will be told by specialists that they will lose or have lost their sight and there is nothing that can be done. Yet 80% of those 100 people could have avoided it, see Spot The Signs

The reception ended with this moving video.

It was a great day and we always learn so much, meet some lovely people and leave feeling well informed on all of the amazing services and work that go on behind the scenes to help blind and partially sighted people have a brighter future!

Happy Birthday Sarah – Part 2

Β

For part of Sarah’s birthday present I booked a 1 night stay in the Thistle Hotel in Brighton. The hotel was lovely and the view from the room had a full panoramic view of the beach and pier.

Sarah sat in the window relaxing with the view of the pier

We had a meal in the restaurant inside the hotel on the first evening which was lovely as the table had a similar panoramic view, and I had the best scotch egg (cooked in a posh way! lol) I have ever tasted!Β

Posh Scotch Egg! :D

On the second day my friend Ben (excellent poem creator), Rosie & Vini came down to meet us for the day. We enjoyed a walk along the pier and Vini had a ride on the Horror Hotel!

Me playing my Dean Razorback Rust USA

Description

I really don’t like to be on the other side of the camera lens as I have very poor blurry sight and no central vision, so I can never see the photographer or look into the camera which normally results with my eyes looking weird! lol, but after Sarah took this shot of me playing one of my favourite electric guitars and after I added a “Dramatic Black & White” effect she loved it and wanted me to post it for you guys to see.

I always find it funny looking at me playing guitar, as it looks like I am watching my fingers but I can’t even see my hands or guitar! πŸ˜€

Description

Photos taken during a walk around the beautiful epsom common.Β

Quote from website:Β We are a Church of England (Anglican) parish church in a beautiful area of Epsom, Surrey. We are part of theΒ Guildford Diocese,Β which covers much of Surrey and part of North-east Hampshire. We also have responsibility forΒ Christ Church on the Wells, our church plant, which meets on a Sunday at the community centre on the Wells estate (the part of Epsom where Epsom Salts once came from!)

We are also part of the Epsom Group Ministry, a confederation of Anglican churches in Epsom, which includes the churches ofΒ St Martin with St Stephenon the Downs, and St Barnabas. Along with the Group Ministry, we also have a very good relationship withΒ Epsom Methodist Church, in the centre of Epsom.

Our beautifulΒ Victorian churchΒ (do have a look at theΒ slide showΒ or theΒ photo gallery!) has been home for many years to a lively Christian community. We hope that, if you are able to visit us, you will find space here to discover more about God and the Christian faith, time to pray and reflect, and also the opportunity to make new friends.
