“Jesus, stun me with awe and wonder today. Don’t let me get tripped up with things that my mind cannot comprehend. Rather, free my soul to experience being “born again”. May the reality of my spiritual rebirth be the Truth that propels my life today in all I think, say, and do. Amen.”
“Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind. Then when you call, the LORD will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.”
Have you ever been “wowed” by a sermon? Yesterday in church, I was.
The Scripture for the day was such a familiar one- the Prodigal Son in Luke 15. Somewhere in Heaven, volumes must be stored up on this parable. One of my favorite oldie but goldie Contemporary Christian songs is “When God Ran” by Benny Hester and sung by Phillips, Craig & Dean.
But, my priest, Chris Culpepper at Christ the Redeemer Anglican, decided to concentrate on the least talked about person in the parable. Not the son, not the father, not the elder brother- but the man the prodigal son turned to after he’d squandered all his money. “After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in the country and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country , who sent him…
I love this photo of the look of complete adoration in Bruce’s eyes for Sarah! We miss him dearly and as it is Mother’s day today here in the UK I thought I would post this photo for Sarah from Bruce! 😀
I booked a Champagne VIP balloon flight for Sarah’s birthday as she has always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon. It was an amazing experience and when I got back to see what I’d taken I zoomed in onto this photo and the trees still look like broccoli to me!
I am not sure how old Bruce is here (around 6 months old) but he was still a cute puppy! 😀
Sorry for the poor quality but i just had to share as i don’t have any other photos of Bruce as a puppy. I didn’t have any camera’s back than, not even on a mobile phone! This image was captured using my Dad’s camera.
“Father in Heaven, thank You for this life-sustaining water to quench my thirst in the desert of my exile. I rest in Your forgiveness, in Your love for me. Thank You for never rejecting me or forsaking me. Amen.”
Acts 5:29 NIV2 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.”
There is no perfect church. If you look for the negative, you WILL find it, no matter where you go! God said what we seek is what we will find! If there is a perfect church, once you get there it will not be perfect anymore! I had a pastor say on many occasions, “You follow me as long as I follow God. When I stop following God, you stop following me!” God looks at the heart! God looks at our motives. Did we love people, did we ALL serve, did we bear fruit? If the answer is no, it is time get very honest with ourselves. It is time to go to God and ask, “What is wrong and what do You want me to…
Shelly Sorem came to know and love the Lord in 1999 and He has been the guiding force in her life ever since. From the time she accepted Jesus Christ into her life, everything seem to change. God changed what was important to her and how she lived her life. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and spent three years teaching second grade. She also has a Masters degree in counseling psychology and was a counselor at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in the pediatric and adolescent clinic for three years. It was during this time that the Lord called her into ministry.
A fun photo of Bruce and his toy looking equally sad. Although its not a very professional looking shot it’s very popular with family and friends, so i thought i’d share it with you all! 😀
The Cricketers is a lovely local pub to stop and have lunch and a coffee after a long walk through the woods. I managed to risk the snowy paths and take this photo! 😀
At One7, our goal is to raise up a generation of Jeremiah’s who will go out into the world and share the Gospel of Christ. The beauty of grace is that God can use an imperfect vessel to illustrate His ultimate perfection. The youth of One7 would be the first to tell you that they are not perfect. They make mistakes. They struggle. They fall. The good news is that they get back up and keep moving forward because, when they are weak, God is powerful.
Meet Soli. She is from Ethiopia and started attending the One7 Academy this year. She is one of five children living here in the US. Like most refugee families, they escaped their country hoping to make a better life here in America. While on many levels, they do indeed have it much better than in the past, but they still face hunger, pain, and rejection.
A sleepy Bruce on holiday in the log cabin we stayed in for a week in Acle, Norfolk. He loved all the long walks along canal paths and across the endless fields and it made him sleep well! 😀
Camera used – Fuji F10 (only took a compact as had to travel light)
I believe in myself
Because God believes in me
He entrusted me with His precious gift of talents
To fulfill His purpose on earth for Him;
If He believes I can do it
Why can’t you?
Some may seem better at their talents than I am
But I am content because it’s not what people think of me that matters;
Because my main aim in life to earn God’s approval with all I do;
No talent is better than the other;
We were all bestowed with them from the One above, the Giver of gifts;
No one gives someone a gift unless he believes he can take good care of it.
So be proud of who you are and what you can do
You are unique; the world can’t be complete without you;
Your little input adds to what the world is today or can be tomorrow; Believe in yourself…
Whilst on holiday in Norfolk we visited the lovely quiet beach of Heacham. As i was walking along the beach with Sarah & Bruce i stopped to take this photo. As i have very little sight i still think this looks like a snake! lol 😀
This photo brings back memories of patience for me. This is the longest had taken getting one shot. I spent 3 days going down to the local lake and sat patiently on a bench taking about 150 shots per day until finally got this one. I learnt that when you can’t see what’s in your viewfinder, don’t take photos of birds! lol 😀
Sunburst features Hunstanton Lighthouse in Norfolk and was taken in July 2009 during an early morning walk with Sarah and our boxer dog Bruce. This is a very special place for us, as we had our honeymoon here five years ago and have returned to celebrate our anniversary every year since.
While sat on old Hunstanton beach waiting for a possible beautiful sunset, Sarah pointed out this Border Collie really enjoying itself so i pointed my camera in the general direction and started shooting! 😀
Snettisham Beach Sunset was taken in Norfolk in September 2006 on holiday with Sarah and Bruce. It’s a place I wanted Sarah to see, as I have many happy memories of childhood holidays here. I love to go down to the beach, especially at sunset to capture the beautiful colours as the sun sinks into the sea. I’ve taken many since, but this is still one of my favourites.
