“Other peopleβs opinion of us is finite and often fickle.”
In life we can try so hard to impress people. We change what we wear, what we do, what we say all in hopes that people will approve of us but the truth is no other person on the planet can validate us. Other peopleβs opinion of us is finite and often fickle. Other peopleβs opinions, good or bad, never change who we are on the inside.
As we come to the one being in the universe whose opinion of us is infinite, unchangeable and constantly good, we get a glimpse of who we really are. God created us special for a loving relationship with Him. He made us unique and for a purpose greater than we can conceive.
Now as we receive Jesus Christ into our life, we can stop striving to attain peopleβs idea of perfect. We can now easily receive Jesusβs perfection and righteousness by simply believingβ¦

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who have given me love, encouragement & inspiration every day to keep going with this blog. When i started i just wanted 1 person to be touched by how God is working in my life and i still keep that mindset, but i had no idea it was going to grow and that my life really could be an inspiration to others.
To be part of this WordPress family really has transformed my life and you all give me focus and inspiration to continue taking photos & posting quotes, verses, music etc, and also to keep fighting along this narrow path!
With my sight impairment i canβt look at all of the stats telling me which posts are popular, etc, so when this one entered my notifications i was stunned, i didnβt even know there were that many people out there! lol. π

“Bury The Workmen”
Steven was a deacon in Jerusalem
They dragged him out those city gates to try and quiet him
When Steven preached those Pharisees started throwing stones
Before he died he raised his eyes and saw Jesus on the throne
(Chorus)
He said, You can bury the workmen but the work will go on
And you can silence the voices but you can’t stop the song
When the Spirit’s moving, His will will be done
You can bury the workmen but the work will go on
James was sent to Heaven at the edge of Herod’s sword
And Peter he was crucified like his beloved Lord
The Roman Colosseum, the lions and the fires
The gates of hell did not prevail, they fanned those flames higher
(Chorus)
Cause you can bury the workmen but the work will go on
And you can silence the voices but you can’t stop the song
When the Spirit’s moving, His will will be done
And you can bury the workmen but the work will go on
And then they lowered Jesus, they laid Him in a grave
They thought that it was over, that His name would fade away
But Jesus wasn’t listening, no, He rose to life again
Cause God is not persuaded by the arrogance of men
(Chorus) x2
So you can bury the workmen but the work will go on
And you can silence the voices but you can’t stop the song
When the Spirit’s moving, His will will be done
And you can bury the workmen but the work will go on
“Stones Under Rushing Water”
Why don’t we dance anymore
I’m not ok with that
Why don’t we laugh anymore
I’m not ok with that
The years go by like stones under rushing water
We only know when it’s gone
Why don’t we smile anymore
I’m not ok with that
Why don’t we dance slowly
I’m not ok with that
The years go by like stones under rushing water
We only know when it’s gone
Why don’t we dance anymore
I’m not ok with that

Iβve been blessed so much this weekend by loving brothers & sisters and the beautiful blessing of music. This morning i was asked to play alongside a beautiful voice and sister in Christ Robyn for her friends (Emma) baptism this morning. As we were finishing the song βLove Came Downβ and i was gently ending the song, i just had enough time to wipe the tears from my eeys (she sang it beautifully) It was a great honour for me to be asked to do this and i still canβt quite believe it now.

Tonight during our evening service dear friend and loving sister Sara (the Voice) said she would sing for us tonight in our acoustic service with me and Sarah (her haunting woodwind moves my very bones), and if that isnβt enoughβ¦.brother and great friend Phil (the immense guitar talent) also came along to play with us. Iβve never had so much fun, love or praise during a service before so just had to let you guys know how thankful, blessed & deeply moved i feel right now!

Blind Photographer – Steve Rebus {Worshipping through his art, his music, and his writings.}

Meet Steve Rebus. You can read on his website how he breaks the ice about who he is: Blind Photographer. Β But we’ve gotten to know Steve as so much more than that – although he is a fabulous photographer! He is a writer, a musician, and most importantly he is a follower of Christ. In every sense, he seeks to be like and love like Jesus. WHAT A POWERFUL testimony he has!
Β Β 7Cubed: Hi Steve. Tell us about your life, your music, and your photography.Β
Steve: Two Souls Entwineβ¦..Β

Iβve been married to Sarah for nearly six years now and Iβm really struggling to put how I feel into words! My heart overflows with love for her. She has encouraged, inspired and loved me and is the sunshine that warms me along my journey. Β
My love of musicβ¦.
Since being registered blind Iβve learned to play the drums and guitar. This is amazing in itself but being able to play alongside Sarah every Sunday to assist myself and others in worship is just mind blowing. I play in two churches β drumming in the morning and playing guitar in the evening and I feel so blessed to be able to come before God and thank him with the gifts heβs given me. Gifts that give me great joy too!
Blind Photographer??Β
βYou donβt need sight to see, you need visionβΒ
βI strongly believe that Disability doesnβt have to mean inability or lack of creative talent!βΒ
I used to enjoy photography when I was sighted, taking and developing photos in my dadβs darkroom, When I lost most my sight 13 years ago I thought this would put a stop to my hobby, but I have learned that my camera can act as my eyes allowing me to see what my own eyes will not.Β I am proud of the fact that I have been able to produce photographs despite my visual impairmentβ and like to think that although I may have lost my useful sight I have not lost my vision and instinct for a good photograph. (see Blind Photographer).
7Cubed: In what ways has life changed for you and your relationship with God because of your blindness?Β
Steve: When I was fully sighted I never had a relationship with God, nor was ever taught about him. We didnβt go to church and he was never part of my life.Β In my early twenties I was really into body building, football, driving, and night clubbing. I judged people on looks alone; if they didnβt look fit, they were nothing! My fuel was pride and vanity.Β Since I have been blind and the eyes of my heart have been forced open by God’s amazing grace Iβve found my identity in Him, and as He is continually transforming me into the person He knew I could be. I simply just love people without any preconceptions of what the world thinks is beautiful.
7Cubed: Obviously, God blesses your music, your writing, and your photography! They are all wonderful. At what point in your life did you really understand that Christ wanted to work through your adverse situations?

Steve: I think it was when I wrote my testimony at the beginning of this year when God started to show me what he can do through me. I posted it onto iChristian and my blog seemed to explode with blessings. I realised that my little story can actually help connect, encourage, and inspire people on a few different levels, and I will share His good news for the rest of my life.Β
7Cubed: We’ve seen some cool pictures of you playing your guitar! Do you play any other instruments? When did you first learn how to play your instruments?Β
Steve: Yes, I also play the drums. I first started playing 13 years ago when a teacher at the college I reluctantly attended (as it was only a few months after Iβd lost my sight and I was in a real dark place) asked me, βSteve, is there anything you would like to learn?β I said I would like to play the drums, so she found a local drum shop called βRattle & Drumβ that also had teaching rooms upstairs and thatβs where I started my lessons. Dave, my drum teacher, was fantastic and worked around my struggles, and playing the drums to my favourite songs quickly became my therapy and still helps to this day.Β
I didnβt start playing guitar until 2005 when I had met Sarah and had to sell my drum kit to be able to move into her flat. As Iβve been a Metal fan for most of my life, Iβve always played the air guitar, but never really tried to play a real one.Β Harry, my fantastic guitar teacher, recorded our lessons with my video camera so I could sit for hours with my guitar in front of my huge TV to try and figure out what finger went where. As I canβt see to read sheet music or guitar tabs, I have to play from memory.Β I now have quite a few beautiful guitars that I love playing, and Iβm truly blessed to be able to play my chords for the Lord on such amazing instruments.Β Β
7Cubed: You take some awesome photographs! What kind of camera do you use? Do you have any specialized equipment that assists you when taking these amazing photos?Β Β
Steve: I have bought 5 cameras over the 8 years of digital photography. I have 2 DSLR cameras. My main camera is a Nikon D2Xs and my second is a SONY Alpha a100. I also use a Canon Powershot SX40 HS which is a bridge camera, and my compact camera is a Samsung WB550. Oh and my iPhone!Β As you can imagine there is not much in the way of assistive technology for blind photographers as it’s not something that many would think of. The only piece of adapted tech is a 2x magnifier that is screwed onto the Nikon’s viewfinder, which doesnβt help me at all, but I canβt get it off! lolΒ Having said that, my iPhone is the only camera thatβs accessible for me. It speaks to me when it has focused, and when I take a portrait it will tell me where the face is on the screen and if its a big face or a small face so I can get the right distance. This feature is fantastic and also standard on the iPhone, and Iβd love to see this software on other cameras!Β Β
7Cubed: What advice and encouragement would you give to others who have been through a similar situation?Β
Steve: If there is someone reading this who is experiencing the creeping death called depression, then Iβd just like to give them hope. The hope that although you may feel that no one cares and that thereβs nothing to live for anymore, thereβs no pit too deep that God wonβt reach down and lift you out of. He wants a living relationship with you starting right now!Β He loves you no matter what youβve done, no matter where youβve been; He loves you completely and he wants to bless your life and bring you that peace inside that you’re craving for.Β
Β 7Cubed: How did you became a Believer and Follower of Jesus?Β
Steve: I hope you donβt mind but Iβve answered this question using the text from my iChristian blog.Β
Broken, Psalm 116:3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow.Β
Another day, another attempt! β¦. Oct β Nov 2000
Β I kneel down in the centre of my living room. Tears stain the blade I hold to my chest. βCome on Steve, donβt fail again! All you need to do is throw yourself forwards and thats it!βΒ Iβd been doing this every morning for the last couple of months and still I waited, willing myself to do it. Then nudgeβ¦nudge.. my three month old Boxer dog βBruceβ pushed against my leg with his nose. His whimpering cries pierced my very soul. βHe relied on me for everything and I had no idea I would be relying on a furry angel to help me through this dark period in my life.βΒ
After three months of failed attempts I felt more useless than ever β¦. I couldnβt even manage the task of killing myself. I realised I didnβt even have the strength to do this properly. I just didnβt know how I could get lower than this!!! – Iβd been registered blind at 25, after loosing my sight quite suddenly. in the same month my mum finally died after a 12 year debilitating and demoralizing struggle with progressive MS. Missing her added misery to my own struggle to come to terms with the isolation and insecurities of managing life with sight loss β Iβd lost my job, my custom car, the ability to drive, my girlfriend and nearly all of my so called friends!Β
My answerβ¦.Β
To throw myself into binge drinking, womanising, dark depression, and raw anger. I felt that this was what I had to look forwards to for the rest of my life.Β
Then I met Sarahβ¦β¦ July 2004Β
She wasnβt like the other girls Iβd met. Sarah too had suffered sight loss and depression because of her uncontrollable diabetes but no matter how bad things got for her, she always had comfort in someone called βJesusβ. Oh no I thought not a Christian! She suffered all of my taunts, jibes and nasty comments but worst of all my coldness and my inability to show love. I made it a personal challenge to show her that everyone will let you down and no one can be trusted or faithful! I felt that if I could make her hurt as much as I did then sheβd hate this Jesus and know that he wasnβt real!Β
Then HE came to visit MEβ¦.Β
Hope, Psalm 116:4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: βLord, save me!βΒ
Iβd seen a guitarist called Eric Bibb on the music show βLater with Jooles Hollandβ and called Sarah up to see if she had heard of him too. She hadnβt but as a lovely gift she booked tickets to go and see him in London. Iβd only ever been to Metal concerts before so i didnβt know what to expect.Β It was Eric Bibbβs βFriendsβ tour and when Eric started the song βNeeded Timeβ and sang the words.Β
βIβm down on my bended knees, Iβm on my knees, praying want you come back, come back here?
Even if you donβt stay long, oh my Jesus, If you donβt stay long, Iβm praying, Come back here.
Singing Right now is the needed time, I know you feel the needed time right now. Bless us!βΒ
This was the moment when I asked Jesus to save me saying βI canβt fight any more. Please help me!β From that moment something happened inside me and I just felt an outpouring of my entire being. My heart seemed to clear itself of all the darkness, hatred and anger Iβd filled it with replacing this with pure love. I couldnβt stop my river of tears for the rest of the show.Β
February 2013 β Now and into the futureβ¦.
Β Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godβs will is β his good, pleasing and perfect will.Β
My eyes are filling with tears as I write this section. I just canβt believe Iβm sitting here typing this. If it was up to me than Iβd be dead. Iβd have missed Godβs amazing grace and a living relationship with Jesus along with the countless blessings I simply didnβt know existed! Heβs transformed me in so many ways and Iβm no longer held captive by drinking, swearing, anger, lack of compassion and self loathing, along with much much more. Iβm also getting a long way to overcoming my ever big struggle with over eating.
7Cubed: Steve, we agree with what you said “thereβs no pit too deep that God wonβt reach down and lift you out of.” Praise God for that Truth! Thank you for taking a moment to share your beautiful life with us and may God bless your work and vision throughout the mission He has laid on your heart!

Be Loved! β₯ π β₯
Godβs love for us is truly something hard for us to comprehend. His love for us is like no other love we have or ever will experience. We have a hard time understanding His love for us because we donβt love the way He loves.
When it comes to love, our human ability to love is finite, limited and quite frankly pretty fickle and we have a tendency to view Godβs love like our own love. But they are vastly different. Our love is based on our feelings but Godβs love is based on His nature. His very nature is love.
Anyone who does not love does not know God, becauseΒ God is love.

Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the gospel but He never told us how to go or what to use.
I believe He never confined us to a specific βhowβ or βwhatβ, to a specific βmethodβ or βtoolβ, Β because He in His divine foreknowledge knew that the options available to us to take the message of the Gospel to the world would evolve and multiply in each generation and wants us to make use of whatever is available in our time.

Β Undead.Β Author Clay Morgan explores death and the supernatural, explaining how faith and the living dead intersect.
Zombies aren’t just around for Halloween anymore, with the genre finding huge success in Hollywood. AMC’s hit show,Β The Walking Dead, is just one of the many Zombie-focused stories out there today.
Recently, Morgan shared with CBN.comΒ about this phenomenon, what we can learn from these supernatural stories and how Jesus is the epitome of the “anti-zombie”.
What’s a Christian doing writing a book about zombies?
Clay Morgan:Β I wrote a book about zombies for much the same reason C.S. Lewis wrote a book likeΒ The Screwtape LettersΒ about demonsβto find light in the darkness. Tales of the supernatural are ready-made for Christianity. Zombies are ridiculously popular and culturally relevant, so zombies are a great way to get someone’s attention. From there we can have a marvelous discussion about spiritual life and spiritual death.
I’m also genuinely interested in the topic and pop culture in general. Millions of people never go to church or learn about biblical faith. For them, entertainment may be the sole medium informing their beliefs of the supernatural. If someone walks out of a movie about zombies or vampires asking questions about life beyond the grave then that’s a great opportunity to have a meaningful conversation about eternal things.
Have you received any criticism for examining themes like horror and zombies?
CM:Β Nothing major yet, but I certainly expected some. I’m sure some people don’t want anything to do with zombies, even as a starting point for discussing biblical miracles, but anyone who reads the book will see that it’s about much more. The stories are fun, so there’s not much of a horror/zombie vibe for most readers.
Why are we fascinated by the living dead?
CM:Β In part I think we’re compelled by the world in which they live, a post-apocalyptic environment where humanity as we know it is over. There are no more bills to pay or jobs to pursue or social circles to navigate. There’s equality in the face of death.
As for the monsters, it’s hard to look away from such an uncompromising threat. And on a deeper level we recognize the meaning of an existence with no hope for redemption. Their totality is so threatening. One misstep and it’s over. And the victims in these stories often don’t just die; they are turned into evil monsters which is more terrifying than anything.
Why is being scared entertaining?
CM:Β For most people it’s exciting, an adrenaline rush. The key is that we aren’t in any real danger, so we pay a lot of money for the illusion of such things. Maybe some of us are just thrill seekers. I suspect that part of it is a desire to find out what our thresholds are. What I do know is that if a horror movie plot like a zombie outbreak really happened it would not be fun! The real thing would be so truly terrifying, but entertainment is a different thing.
What’s your favorite zombie film, and why?
CM:Β I think the first zombie movie that truly captivated me wasΒ 28 Days LaterΒ in which a man wakes from a coma after London has already been devastated by plague. In addition to the quality of the filmmaking and suspense the story makes you think about fate and the meaningful relationships in our lives. Most of all, you have to consider what humanity becomes in the face of ultimate depravity. After all, zombies are a visible representation of cursed creation.
If I have a clear favorite, it’s probablyΒ ZombielandΒ which balances humor with the fright of a world gone wrong. That one really allows you to see the empty stores and communities and consider what the world might look like during an apocalypse.
What spiritual lessons do zombie stories teach us?
CM:Β The biggest lesson might be that it’s possible to exist without truly being alive. A lot of us shamble through life, thoughtlessly going through the motions while feeling dead inside. That includes people in churches and youth groups. We may look like we’re alive to the people around us while masking the decay in our heart.
I used to punch in on Sundays and walk away largely unchanged. What are we living for? What is the meaning of our existence? Zombies aimlessly roam around looking for one more chance to gorge on an appetite of destruction, yet no matter how much they feed on what they desire they are always empty. If anybody has ever wondered what’s missing in life they can probably relate to that kind of emptiness. Fortunately, we don’t have to stay that way. God offers ultimate fulfillment, an abundant life.
A section of your book is titled, ‘Undead in the Bible’. Are you saying there are zombies in the Bible?
CM:Β That idea is really the heart of the book. Most of the chapters inΒ UndeadΒ describe the six individuals in the New Testament who were raised from the dead by God. Jesus performed three of these jaw-dropping miracles and became the fourth. Peter and Paul were also used to bring someone back from the dead.
Of course, these individuals weren’t zombies in the Hollywood sense. Like Lazarus, those folks were restored to full life. But the wordplay makes sense since culture is so fascinated with dead people coming back to life. I thought it was pretty cool to show how many times that type of thing happened in the Bible. The same God who brought people back from physical death in the first century is still able to bring us back from spiritual death today.
InΒ Undead,Β you say we see ourselves in zombies. How’s that?
CM:Β The thing about zombies is that they look familiar in their t-shirts, jeans, curlers, and slippers. Other monstersβsuch as aliens, vampire, or werewolves for exampleβlook so different. We see ourselves in zombies, the worst possible version of our neighbors and ourselves. They hit close to home.
Metaphorically, some of us see frightening reflections of ourselves when we look in the mirror because we know ugly, personal truths.
A major theme of a lot of zombie films and stories is when the living become more monstrous than the zombies in their quest for survival. What is it about zombie movies that help us to examine the dark side of human nature?
CM:Β You’ve nailed it. Zombie fiction is always about the survivors and how they’ll interact. The title of that show The Walking Dead isn’t a reference to the zombies but to the people attempting to go on. These stories reduce everything to its base. Money and social status don’t help anyone. In such dire circumstances the truth about human nature is revealed, and we know it isn’t pretty. The ancient prophet Jeremiah said that our hearts are deceitful above all else and even desperately wicked. Any good zombie story shows how wicked some people can be.
“Jesus is the anti-zombie”. Please, do explain.
CM:Β Zombies are the complete opposite to Jesus. They come back from the dead to take lives. Jesus came back from the dead to give life to all. Zombies are damaged, decaying, and terrifying. Jesus came back resurrected in perfection, a beautiful sight to all who believe. Zombies transform people from life to death. Jesus offers transformation from death to life. That’s why I call him the anti-zombie.
UndeadΒ also gets into vampires. How does that folklore play into this?
CM:Β Monster stories often subvert God’s story. For example, vampires receive immortality at the expense of their soul. They take blood to have life which is completely the opposite of Jesus who gave blood so that others might have life. Blood is a central theme throughout both scripture and vampire lore.
The other thing about vampires is that they are the ultimate in selfishness which is something I used to really struggle with. To use another metaphor, spiritual vampires are takers and they can be found anywhere, churches included. We need to make sure we’re not acting like vampires to the people around us by losing sight of what it means to be a servant like Jesus.
Beyond talk of zombies and vampires, this book speaks to deeper issues. What is the message?
CM:Β The ultimate message ofΒ UndeadΒ is that God is able to breathe life into each one of us. He wants to transform us, and it will be the most awesome miracle we’ve ever experienced. Spiritual death isn’t just about ignoring God. If we’re honest, some of us may be in churches every week but know that something big is missing from our lives. Like Lazarus, it’s possible to be a friend of Jesus for a while before experiencing a whole new level of his miraculous, life-giving power in a new way.
Who do you know that needs to hear about the transforming power of God? Maybe they’re not even interested in going to church but they just might findΒ UndeadΒ engaging enough to discover the mind-blowing force of God’s love.

As he sees us day by day more conformed to his image, he rejoices in us. Just as you see the sculptor with his chisel fetching out the statue which lies hidden in the block of marble, taking off a corner here, and a chip there, and a piece hereβsee how he smiles when he brings out the features of the form divineβso our Saviour, as he proceeds with his graving tool, working through the operation of the Spirit, and making us like unto himself, finds much delight in us. The painter makes rough drafts at first, and lays on the colours roughly; some do not understand what he is doing, and for three or four sittings the portrait is much unlike the man it aims at representing; but the painter can discern the features in the canvas; he sees it looming through that mist and haze of colour; he knows that beauty will yet beam forth from yonder daubs and blotches. So Jesus, though we are yet but mere outlines of his image, can discover his own perfection in us where no eye but his own, as the Mighty Artist, can perceive it. Dear friends, it is for this reason, because we are the work of his hands, that he takes delight in us. We are his brethrenβand brothers should delight in brothers. We are his spouseβand where should the husband find his comfort but in his bride? We are his bodyβshall not the head be content with the members? We are one with him, vitally, personally, everlastingly one; and it is little marvel, therefore, if we have a mutual joy in each other, so that his garments smell of myrrh, aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces of his church, wherein he has been made glad.
As yet we do not see The Lord Jesus Christ or what we will be as the finished product of his work for us and in us, but that fact should not lessen our joy Β Our Saviour is totally satisfied with the fruit of his work for sinners.
“Love Came Down”
If my heart is overwhelmed and I cannot hear Your voice
Iβll hold on to what is true though I cannot see
If the storms of life they come and the road ahead gets steep
I will lift these hands in faith
I will believe
I remind myself of all that Youβve done
And the life I have because Your Son
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours I am forever Yours
Mountain high or valley low
I sing out remind my soul
That I am Yours I am forever Yours
When my heart is filled with hope
and every promise comes my way
When I feel Your hands of grace rest upon me
Staying desperate for You God
Staying humbled at Your feet
I will lift these hands and praise
I will believe
I remind myself of all that Youβve done
And the life I have because Your Son
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours I am forever Yours
Mountain high or valley low
I sing out remind my soul
That I am Yours I am forever Yours
I am Yours
I am Yours
All my days
I am Yours
I am Yours, I’m Yours forever
I am Yours, I’m Yours forever
I am Yours, I’m Yours forever Lord
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours I am forever Yours
Mountain high or valley low
I sing out remind my soul
That I am Yours I am forever Yours
Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its days I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn, And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one, Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call, I know I’ll say ’twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
I come bent in absolute worship
I come bent in absolute worship
Bowed face to the dust I am made of
All else that is of me bent to You who made me
And everything this soul had ever seen, touched, smelt, or known
Can I bend down lower?
Oh Father is there any part of me that wonβt submit?
Root it out! Those weeds that defy You.
Shrink the tumors of self guidance
Radiate the cancer of self agrandousment
Creat in me a completely new heart
One that Iβve never known before
Like a child in awe of You for the first time.
Oh to be released from the bondage of all knowing that isnβt You.
To be completely taken up in the Wonder of Wonderful
To be inside the intimacy of Counselor
To forsake everything but Mighty God!
Oh how I bend in relinquishment, abandon, and humility.
Doubts chase me relentlessly
Hounds that circleβ¦

Your Spiritual Worship!
I appeal to you therefore, brothers,Β by the mercies of God,Β to present your bodiesΒ as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
According to Merriam-Webster, there are three definitions for the word surrender:
Part of our sanctification process, becoming more Christ-like ,requires surrender. It is a surrendering of our old ways of the flesh for the new ways of the Spirit. It is surrendering our will for His, our desires for His, our plans for His.
But I say,Β walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratifyΒ the desires of the flesh.
In looking at what we are to surrenderβ¦

Jesus asks a famous theologian a Christological question,
βWho do you say that I am?β
βYou are he who heals our ambiguities and overcomes the split of angst and existential estrangement; you are he who speaks of the theonomous viewpoint of the analogia entis, the analogy of our being and the ground of all possibilities.β
βYou are the impossible possibility who brings to us, your children of light and children of darkness, the overwhelming oughtness in the midst of our fraught condition of estrangement and brokenness in the contiguity and existential anxieties of our ontological relationships.β
And Jesus says, βHuh?β

Ephesians 4:29Β The Voice
Donβt let even one rotten word seep out of your mouths. Instead, offer only fresh words that build others up when they need it most. That way your good words will communicate grace to those who hear them.
“Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)”
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I’ve been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
My chains are gone
I’ve been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
Will be forever mine.
You are forever mine.

“One act of obedience is better than one hundred sermons.” βΒ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Most of our impressions about Christmas revolve around concepts like “peace” and “harmony” and “unity.” But the first Christmas was filled with intense contrasts. On one hand, we have Herod who is willing to murder countless innocent babies in order to save his position as king. Then there are the three Magi, the wise men from the east:
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. βΒ Matthew 2:11
These were gifts of great monetary and symbolic value:
There was a time when your sinful nature was inclined to do what Herod did β clinging to and defending your position as king of your own life. But now that you are in Christ, now that your sinful nature has been crucified with Him (Romans 6), now that His Holy Spirit lives within you (Romans 8), you can listen to His voice that invites you to bow down and worship the Child as Savior and King today.
Jesus, my Lord! With great joy, I follow the leading of Your Spirit in my heart today. I bow before You as my Savior and my King. May my words, thoughts, and actions all be expressions of sincere worship to You. Amen.
Be Renewed!
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God,Β evenΒ the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. (Romans 12:2)
We live in a very negative world. Evil reports spread and sell faster than good news. It is very easy to go along with the flow, thinking and speaking like βJoe Bloggsβ around us at the work place, living down the road from us, and even attending the same Church with us. Just trying to fit into the mould and conform to this world standard.
But, God tells us that we are not of this world, the Bible says weβ¦

My Thoughts πΒ
Iβve just finished reading this interesting article (see below) which i can relate too a lot, as iβve been through this particular growth stage by cleaning up my music library, well more like deleting the whole lot and starting again! Have you had a similar conviction after giving you life to Jesus? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this.Β
Why Christians should not listen to secular music
βBut ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous lightβ β 1 Peter 2:9.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. β 1 John 2:15-17.
Hip pop secular music and ChristianityOne sad truth in Christendom is the fact that many Christians do not recognize their identity in Christ. Being a Christian goes a lot more beyond being called a Christian. βBeing a Christian is a work of a moment but living a Christian is a work of a lifetime,β Billy Graham observed.
Every Christian has a unique story to tell. However, in the midst of each story is a loving God who gave up is life as ransom for our sins. Different things and different circumstances had over the years led many to Jesus Christ. Every believer reading this post has been delivered from bondage of some sort. The Lord Jesus had met each of us at different points of our lives. Some have been delivered from drugs, others from excessive partying, clubbing and sexual promiscuity. And many others have been delivered from worldly lusts: the lust for money, the lust for material possessions, and greediness.
But when we become born again by the blood of the Lamb, we become new creatures (2 Corinthians 2:17), we become the sons and daughters of God (John 1:12), but most significant, we become a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and peculiar people. The attributes and identities of believers have been made evident by the apostle Peter (See 1 Peter 2:9). There is a reason why God gives the believer all this attributes. It is so that we can βshow forth the praises of him who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous lightβ β 1 Peter 2:9b.
What does it mean to show forth the praises of God?
I believe it means doing away with worldly lifestyle; secular music, secular movies and anything that do not glorify our Heavenly Father who loved us and sent His Son to die to save us. The scripture says βI am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for meβ β (Galatians 2:20). Being in Christ means we are no more of the world. We have been delivered from the darkness and are now nigh to the marvelous light of God in Christ. This is why every Christian must grow to a point in their life where they can boldly say NO to secular music and all the profanity and deception that go with it.
How to Stop Listening to Secular Music
The lesson in Galatians 2:20 is that Christ lives in us. Every believer must always be conscious of the fact that Christ lives in us. Whenever you are tempted to sing or play a secular music, pause and ask yourself, βWill Jesus listen to this song I am listening to? Will He dance to this song I am dancing to? I have found this questioning approach to be an effective way to stop or quit listening to hip and secular music.
Alternatively Christians can stop listening to secular music by listening to more godly music. I used to really love hip pop, R & B and rap music. Now I am in Christ and I still enjoy these genres but I do it this time to edify myself and to praise the LORD my God. I no more listen to those secular artistes singing and rapping about sex, money, drugs and girls. Instead I listen to Christian rap music, Contemporary gospel and gospel reggae. It is the same rhythm but with edifying and uplifting lyrics. Just take a look at the music video below and you will understand what I am talking about. The song is by Lecrae(a Christian rapper). God bless you!Β
CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann
I canβt find Christ in CHRISTmas,
itβs like they erased away His name
replacing Him with some greetings
that just donβt mean the same.
Happy Holidays,
is just too bland and generic
although itβs sounds pleasant
it doesnβt capture the true spirit.
Season Greetings,
doesnβt express or say anything
about the life-saving reason
the season we are celebrating.
Merry Xmas,
can it get any worse?
Yet, people can say Jesus Christ
when they swear and curse.
I canβt find Christ in CHRISTmas,
the world continues to resist
the Savior born on CHRISTmas
itβs as if He doesnβt even exist!

The Masterpiece
By Michael Youssef, Ph.D.
There is a story about a wealthy man and his only son who travelled the world together collecting priceless paintings by Van Gogh, Monet and many other masters. Tragically, the son died at war while rescuing others. Distraught and lonely, the old man dreaded the upcoming Christmas day.
Christmas morning, a young soldier knocked on his door and said, βIβm a friend of your son. Iβm one of the ones he rescued.β Then the soldier presented a picture he had painted of the son. Though the picture lacked genius, the brokenhearted father saw the features of his precious son and immediately valued this painting above all the masterpieces in his home. Every day, the father gazed at the portrait and told his housekeeper of his great love for it.
When the father died, the art world buzzed with excitement over the sale of his extraordinary art collection on Christmas day.
The first item offered was the painting of the son, but no one in the self-important crowd would bid on the amateurish portrait. The auctioneer insisted that the terms of the will required the portrait must be sold before any other paintings could be offered. Finally, the housekeeper, tears streaming down her cheeks, said to the auctioneer, βMay I pay ten dollars for it? That is all the money I have. I knew the son, and I know how much the father treasured that portrait.β The auctioneer said, βThe bid is ten dollars. Going once, going twice, gone,β and the gavel fell.
The auctioneer then announced that the auction was over. βWhat do you mean?β said the stunned audience. βThere must be hundreds of millions of dollars of art here.β The auctioneer replied, βIt is very simple. According to the will of the father, whoever takes the son gets it all.β
Like the art collectors, not everyone can see the real value of a relationship with Jesus. John 1:11 tells us that Jesus came to His own but His own received Him not. They did not accept the precious gift of Godβs Son, a gift that brings with it all the blessings and love of God.
If you are not intentional about recognizing and receiving Jesus Christ, you will have nothing in the end, and there will be no negotiation of Godβs terms. Godβs Son may have been born in the most humble of circumstances in a manger in Bethlehem, but He is coming back in power and glory. The next time we see Jesus, things will be very different from His first coming. Not only will He be the King of kings but He will be a judge and we will be held accountable for our lives.
Read John 3:18-36 and Revelations 3:16. Clearly, there are two categories of people: those who fully accept the Son as the only means to the Father and those who donβt. People who are indifferent or neutral about the Son will miss the opportunity to live eternally with the Father in Heaven. It is not enough to believe Jesus was a good man or a prophet; James 2:19 says that even the devil believes and βtrembles.β
Have you said βYesβ to the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? Luke 15:7 says there will be joy in Heaven when you do. Tell the Father today about your love for His Son. Ask God to protect your heart from being neutral or complacent about your devotion to Jesus. Is there someone you know who needs to acknowledge Jesus as Savior? Pray about being intentional about introducing them to the Son.

Sheep need a shepherd to lead them to green pastures. Without his/her assistance, these animals will stay in the same area and eat the grass down to the roots. In a short period of time, a lush, green pasture becomes a dust bowl.
Perhaps this is why Psalm 23 says, βHe makes me lie down in green pastureS.β
See the plural?
This leads to the question:
Where do you, as one of Godβs βsheep,β feed?
Do you only eat in one pastureβ¦the one in your church?
Or do you βgrazeβ in other locations as well?
I am not suggesting βchurch hopping,β but if we are to receive a balanced diet, we need to be fed in more than one locationβ¦from more than one source.

On the table side by side,
The Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with pride,
No, not the Bible, the TV Guide.
One is used daily to help folks decide,
No it isnβt the Bible itβs the TV Guide.
As the pages are turned what shall they see?
Oh, it doesnβt matter, just turn on the TV!
And so they open the book in which they confide,
Not the Bible the TV Guide!
The word of God is seldom read;
Well, maybe a verse eβer they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be,
Not from reading the Bible but watching TV.
So back to the table side by side,
The Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
One is cherished and well worn with pride,
Not the Bible, the TV Guide!
The plan of salvation is seldom heard,
(Nor the love of God, or encouraging words,)
Forgiveness of sin so full and free
Is found in the Bible not on TV!!

Here is a poem I wrote about how different things would be if we put our trust in the Lord.
If Only
If only I trusted that I am worthy of love, I wouldnβt let people use and abuse me.
If only I trusted that I was chosen to be a child of God, I wouldnβt dwell so much on the times my earthly father disappointed me or hurt my feelings.
If only I trusted that I am Godβs masterpiece, I wouldnβt believe what others have said about my appearance.
If only I trusted that I am holy and dearly loved, I wouldnβt listen to the hurtful comments people have said to me.
If only I believed I was an heir to the King of Kings, I wouldnβt spend so much time and energy trying to acquire material things.
If only I trusted that I belonged to a royal priesthoodβ¦
